In this final episode, I spend my last few nights in the Kgalagadi, where I'm still camping at Nossob Rest Camp. Most of my game drives are actually game sits, as I park of at Rooikop Waterhole just south of Nossob waiting for animals to come and drink. My patience pays off as I see lions on multiple occasions.
The episode also contains a flash back to 2003 when my wife, Tabby, and I worked as nature conservation students in the Kgalagadi. Enjoy a series of old photos showing where we lived, what we did and how we looked.
On my final game drive down to Twee Rivieren, I find three male lions at Kameelsleep Waterhole - the perfect way to end the Kgalagadi Trip 2023 video series. I hope you enjoyed it with me.

@@TheSafariExpert oh yes it is 😎
Lovely Memories of Rooikop here at the waterhole 2 lionesses >> nothings changed from the 1970s at this waterhole but now you have cars as a background >> there were none then as we were the only campers every time we went to Nossob
Thanks mate! I agree, if I could do that full time.....I would! Unfortunately, my one Patrion Nicole, has to work! Be back in SA next year but not before Borneo, Sri Lanka and the Pantanal!
Great series of videos Villiers. I was at the same 3 camps but just a week ahead of you. it was my 30th trip. The Kgalagadi is indeed a special place. I have published a couple of coffee table books including one which was specifically on the birds of Kgalagadi. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks so much, Ed 🙏🏻
Great series Villiers…I was in the Kgalagadi in December and was disappointed at how corrugated the roads were North of Nossob! However we had loads of lion sightings as well 🎉
Thanks Jordan 🙏🏻
I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who drapes my Bean bag over my shoulder like a jacket 😂😂
😅😅😅
thank you for another great video from this amazing series.
one question: what do you use to fill your bean bag?
Plastic pellets
Can you do this in the KNP as well please?
Great videos. What happened with the neck/side of the face scar? Get attacked?
I have no idea
How is the waterhole called where you saw the raptors?
Cubitje Quap 😵💫
Two of those male lions at the end looked pretty thin.
Those 3 male lions didn't look in good condition at all! Especially two of them looked extremely thin, as if they're starving :(
Thanks for taking us on the journey Villiers! Sad this series is over but can’t wait for your next one :)
Neither can I 😎
