I initially saw this guy as someone who came across pretty nonchalant, but then when he's in his third form, it's as if his power takes control and he becomes really arrogant and self entitled. He regards himself as a god, but I would also say that this godlike form of his doesn't even acknowledge Yhwach as his leader, this is a completely different entity that believes itself to be supreme. Would be interested to see if they'll have different VA for his human form and his godlike form.
the fact gerard was the only one who didn't get corrupted by power is actually quite symbolic since he's the "heart" of the soul king which can be interpreted as him having the best mentality out of all schutzstafel.
