I like how it looks. Has a distinct vibe to it, which I feel helps workflow. Most GUIs trying to emulate the appearance of old hardware, or to have that vibe, look so familiar that they lose character. This is a button, this is knob, blah blah... it's all interchangeable, appearance-wise, which makes it a pain when shifting from one to another. But with this GUI, after looking at the interface for 30 seconds, it was just so distinct that it burned into my brain and I knew where everything was (just left such an immediate impression). And it sounds great. And Butch is an awesome guy... laid-back, humble, explains everything without seeming like he's lecturing, obviously loves music without being a snob about it, has a commercial sensibility without his approach seeming overtly commercial, and knows what he's doing. What a great promo video.
I realize this video is a little older at the time of this comment but I am becoming a bigger and bigger Butch fan. Really down to earth, informative, and willing to share. Love it and this plug-in.
Butch, I found this by accident while searching for your remix of Last by NIN, and I'm glad I did! I love a little EQ when done right, and it seems like this plugin will do well for me. I respect and empathize with your opinions as a producer (I thought I was the only one confused when "pass" is used instead of "cut"), and I'm glad you were asked to make this. Thanks, I can't wait to try it.
I absolutely LOVE IT !! I use ether this or the CLA vocals all the time. It's really awesome. Thanks for all your troubles in making it, hope you all got fairly paid.
Funny. I saw a guy in a CVS near SilverLake, thought it looked like Butch Vig, but thought, nah, couldn't be.... Wish i had trusted my instincts. Love Garbage, and so much of his production work. // Beautiful (steampunk?) interface to this plug-in. Butch - check out City of Lost Children. That aesthetic reminds me of your GUI.
most of the major producers did not have a Studio with many equipment, the magic is all in their head. "knowledge", butch's Studio is simple, but its productions are fantastic.
Looks like I am not the only one who thinks the GUI looks like a steampunk video game, not a pro audio plug-in. I might demo it, but I have doubts about this decision. It just looks confusing to me.
I kinda wonder what goes into their thought process when they make [famous producer] plugins like these. It took someone like Butch decades to create his own workflow, and to have a plugin simulate it all instantly seems a little... i dunno. counterintuitive somehow.
The GUI looks like something out of a steam punk themed video. It looks cool, but it doesn't look user friendly. IMO. Billy Corgan is a brilliant musician, but his voice is like nails on a chalkboard/it sounds like someone is pinching Billy's nostrils closed while he sings. Really good stuff from Butch, though. Well, I'm gonna get back to eating my burger king and then get back to writing a hit song, as I day dream about the days of my youth.
It looks like rubbish. The point isn't to try to make it as messy as possible but clear and logical with good visual response. It look like an 8 year old plug-in. We never liked irrational design. You should present it on a single voice not with a full band to hear it. There is normal low-cut and some saturation so there is no reason to buy this.
***** Who are you to say what Butch fucking Vig should do? He's produced some of the BEST records ever. That's like telling Eddie Kramer to turn up the vocal mix. If you can't tell the difference, you really should be working on you mixing skills and not be critiquing someone who's been doing this forever, and has made some of the most successful and influential albums of all time. Come back when you make a plugin and produce tons of classic records. Who's"we" by the way? Cause if you think this is "messy", you should be doing something more constructive with your time. Stop feeling the need to tell professional people how to di their job, while you sit at home scratching your balls (or tits, lets not be sexist). Not trying to be an ass man, but I understand not everyone likes the same thing, but don't make it seem like he doesn't know anything, because I mean, It's BUTCH VIG, As in the guy who produced "Nevermind" and "Gish". Come. ON.
Now that is the type of marketing video I like to see - informative, contextual, and useful. Thanks for this!
And nice that he says "I think its pretty good" instead of "OMG this is the real deal yo! BUY IT!"
This is a great plugin to use with effects ranging from subtle to in-your-face, plus an amazing GUI! Well done Butch and Waves.

Hi Butch! Happy birthday!!!!!!!!! You are GREAT
I wanna get a tattoo of this GUI, love this plug-in too much

He has my Jazzmaster!!! YES
Well after 5 years I can say that we have the same jazzmaster but I got the one with splitcoils

is it me or are his speakers not pointed at him?
Kurt my man!
Мега мощь !!!
Now that's Garbage
He had Kurt Cobain in the studio for a session to test out the plug in?
He produced Nirvanas "Nevermind." I'm presuming he means that he just pulled up the old recordings to try the plug in on them.
Da Wuji Of course, he came in right after Elvis.
M Sully But what about 2 Pac?
@@WujiErTaiji he ded
Sounds good, but I can't take the GUI
Yo, do anyone know the name of this monitors he's using? Not the Focals, the ones with the double speakers.
Bee Gee Barefoot MM27 gen 1
I wish to know lighting setup for this video, anyone can help me :)
Butch is boss
Blood for poppies is such a nice song. GO GARBAGE!
Possibly the worst saturation ever heard in a plug-in. Bless you.
Any one has experience with this plug in on hiphop tracks?
ah.... sorry but that gui is terrible.
MorbidManMusic gui is the interface
very brave of BV to come out recently as transgender, we need more of his kind in rock music!
god damn that is the ugliest plugin ive ever seen, sounds good though

Steven Rivera The "we" could be excluded and narrowed down to those who agree.
