Yep I’m a CNA and I started my new job last week at a nursing home. You all please pray for me. Because I am struggling with working with a lot of patients. I was a caregiver to both of my grandmothers in there homes. First of all my orientation only lasted 3 days. You all once I got on the floor by myself I crumbled a bit and my confidence isn’t the best. Lord I’m doing the best I can. I’m like God I feel like a failure. I already have other CNA’s talking about me just because I’m not doing something fast or just because I need extra help with hands on. Last night I ran into a nurse who wasn’t so nice towards me. My anxiety is on 10 plus I feel very incompetent. I enjoy making sure the residents are clean the smells don’t bother at me at all. It took me a minute to turn a patient to change their brief. When your new and never worked with a lot of patients before it gives me anxiety. 🤦🏾♀️😷 I’m hard on myself when it takes me more than one time to get something. I’m going to keep on showing up. 😊
Hey Kayla! Thanks for watching and do not be hard on yourself and you are going to have the nurses who are not so nice sometimes. Try and ignore that noise and do your best for your patients working as a CNA is not an easy task, I have been there but it will get better. Best of luck to you.
Time management is a must I agree 100%. I think CNA make some of the best nurses I was a cna for many years before becoming a nurse I agree it gave me great training
I appreciate this! I finished my nursing pre-reqs and decided to do CNA for a bit before Nursing school. I'm currently doing a 2month program, just finished my 1st week yesterday! As my instructor who's done all her Nursing license CNA to FNP, she's a living example of what you have said.
This is a great video. I'm tackling my prerequisites for nursing school right now. I have an interview for a cna class/job at a nearby ltc facility. Wish me luck!
@6:17 “The dinging and the danging...” Lol, ICU and tele floors are notorious for dinging and danging. I’m a Patient Care Tech and an ABSN student so this video hits home for me.
@@fromcnatonp 6 years you said. I refuse to stay in it for 6. I just completed year 1. Am taking my prerequisites and then petition for the RN program. I pray that it will be well for me but nevertheless, according to God's will for my life.
Yessss I love all your videos. I’m a CNA/PCT and sometimes I do feel that registered nurses look down on us, mentioning the facts about nurses who likes to answer call bell but not actually helping the patients are truly facts. I would like to get into the feel of labor and delivery do you have any tips.
Great video! I’m in my senior year in nursing school and currently considering finding a job as a pct before I graduate. I heard you mention nursing assistant. Would that be a better job to apply for to practice my nursing skills instead of pct? Ps. Fellow 🇯🇲, hey girl 🙌🏽
The hospital typically use the term PCT and nursing home CNA pretty much the same thing. PCT in some hospital can do a little more nursing task than CNA. Best of luck to you! Pct is a great idea you will learn alot
This is a great video. I want to know is it ok with people who don't want to start of as a CNA start of as an LPN. I want to go for nursing but im not sure if it is for me.
Thanks for watching! Yes it is definitely ok to go right into LPN, I am just sharing my experience on why it was the best decision for me. Best of luck
@@fromcnatonp Thanks for answering. I wish I could go for my LPN but its too too late for me to enroll. I live in NY and they start the lpn once a year and ofcourse they are requirements to complete before getting in.

Your video was helpful, I’m about to start my CNA but i actually want to do PCT instead of CNA.

Great video as always
I've heard horror stories as a CNA.
One woman told me that the resident crapped diarrhea all over her arms and chest.
Thanks for watching... I can believe it, definitely comes with the territory, I can tell you multiple stories as well...
