Man very tasteful modifications on your Formula: made it ram air, put 17 rally IIs with white letter tires, Hurst Dual gate shifter. Very nice! Having a good time watching these videos
If that car has black interior your a lucky man. The car looks amazing. And great choice on the 17”. I road in a 1970 formula 400 multiple times and wow! That car was a rocket. No ram air and didn’t matter it still would fry the tires rolling at 40 mph. Actually just the one tire limited slip. Im actually trying to tack down the car a speak of now.
Wow wow wow. I’ve been researching exhaustively on what wheel and tire combo I want to do for the firebird im building over on my channel. I’ve settled on the 17” and then I found your video. Dang man. You just sealed the deal. This is perfect. What is your stance and what suspension are you running to get this fit? Couple inch drop? Nice video man!
Looks great. Just wondering on your choice of the "Staggered wheels - 17x9/17x8". I have a 71 Trans Am and I am planning on Year One wheels also. Do you recommend the staggered set over 17x9s back AND front? Thanks for the tips on the Tredwear, I will be copying you on that!
Hey Steve, your car looks great with the 17" Rallye II's. It looks completely stock. I'm going the same route (wheels and tire size) with my '67 GTO. Can I ask what size letters you went with? They look to be about an inch. Also, how's the handling with the NT555 in back and the Motivo's in the front? Thanks
The you can not get that in white letters thing sucks. Wife 2x4 1999 Jeep Cherokee has larger street tires on it. 235 vs 195. We have always had white letter tires on it with the larger street tires. A few years back we found out you can no longer get white letter tires on just about every tire brand. We stuck black walls on it this last time and it looks rather silly. Reminds us of a 3 year old walking around in daddys size 14 loafers. The shoes just look way too big without the white letters. The white letters cut the sidewall height so the did not look as large as they are and gave it a good solid high performance look. Now it just likes like a baby with giant shoes on it.
For my Baja I run BFG M-T T/A KM LT325/60R15 on 10 inch wide rims. They are a little bit shorter than 31x10.5 but are 13 inches wide. Great off road traction for a small car and very popular on the Jeeps when I built my baja in the early 90's. No one makes them any more and anyone who makes anything close to that is all in 17 inch size and above. Off roaders like lots of side wall and 17 inch rims and larger are just problems in an off road car. The car was built around and geared for those tires, Rear Disc Brakes, rims etc. ua-cam.com/video/9o1evs79roo/v-deo.html
My 360 Duster runs 245/60r14 and my old 76 T/A 6.6 I think had 15s with a 225 and that was a big rim tire combo back in the 80's. Guy at worked ruined a mint 69 charger with 20" or 22" rims and rubber band size tires on it. The car just looked silly. Made it look like a 4x4 or skateboard.
I worked my But off to earn the $600 to buy my 74 ymouth (The Pl was missing on the car) Gold Duster in Oct 1984 During the summer of 85 when working at Bill Lukes I had it repainted in the shop from powder blue to Dodge Impact Blue (Same Blue as Super Shuttle Vans) with white trim and My uncle who owned West Valley Nissan put a new interior and white vinyl top on it. Later on when I lived in Memphis/Millington my buddy at RHS built me a 360LA RHS 280 Magnum. I won the Hawaii State Nationals with My Duster in the late 80's at Hawaii Raceway Park. 360/A-500 OD/3.91 Limited Slip. Car was a great street racer from Metro Center/Central/Fiesta Mall/Summer Street and the Wolf River Bridge on Covington Pike in Memphis. Now it is just the Blue shelf in the garage. Right before I got Married the intake bypass gasket got a leak and made me a chocolate milkshake. The before she was a wife and I pushed it back into the garage, I pulled the engine & trans, Well the wife and I have been married for 15 years now aka the Blue shelf. Car would run 13.2 in the qtr. And could make my own fog bank at any intersection. Unlike new cars that will just eat The Duster's lunch today. The Duster had the smells and the thumping crackle and the violent body twist and roll when you floored it. Looked, Sounded, Felt, and Smelled Fast. Today I'm sure a new Honda Accord would clean my clock.
We had aka Mom and Dad a 1970 Vista Cruiser with the 455 Rocket or what ever it was same as a 442. Me Auto shop engine project was an Olds 330 out of a 65' 442. My mom also had a real cool 65 copper colored Chevelle SS396 with a 4 speed floor shift she purchased after graduating from Temp High in 1965.

Where did you get the front spoiler?
Are you ever going to let us know where you got that front spoiler? Inquiring minds need to know 😒
I cover that in detail in a different video

"Now I know who you are on the MRH forum." Let us not talk about that guy he is kind of a jerk.
