One thing I love about Karl is that he talks to EVERYONE in exactly the same way. That is a very rare quality....and admirable in a lot of ways, I think.
+Kieran T He doesn't talk shit he just doesn't put on an act he's not afraid to be himself and doesn't put anyone on a pedestal because of who they are. If he met the Queen he'd be the same.
+Kieran T OK well I'm not the one that resorted to name calling so no I'm not the troll here. I originally just gave my opinion without being rude or anything. Karl looks at things differently than most people and Ricky finds it hilarious so he takes the piss. But I don't think he talks shit to people as in treating them disrespectfully which your original post made it sound like you were saying. But maybe you just meant that he talks rubbish in general.
They were always sayin how bad this was on radio they must be for real a lil stuck up over there because this is gold i woulda loved this on radio waaay better then the junk in radio hete in us especially then..
Sadly they stopped doing the radio show a few years back. This recording is from the old Ricky Gervais Show, originally aired in 2001/2002 or thereabouts (sorry, don't have the exact date to hand) on Xfm, which paved the way for the podcasts which they started doing afterwards. If you look you can find many of the episodes in their entirety here on youtube :)
10:41 reminds me of that Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em episode where Frank has to go to court and the judge realizes that he is a bit simple so he lets him off lol.
wait a minute! they missed the fact that karl said that he knocked some of that kids teeth out, so that makes it weird that the letter was a dentist appointment!
Science is a matter of universal truth, while spirituality is a matter of personal truth. I don't think one blocks or limits the other. I don't know which is more important. The problem is when people confuse and mix up one with the other. I've only heard one of Alan Watts' speeches. "What if money were no object" and yes, it is beautiful. Self discovery is important to me, being young and all. My recommendation to you is George Carlin. Maybe not as poetic but his words resonate with me.
Basically what smokinaces said... they went on to do the podcasts, which are much more well known but, IMHO, not nearly as funny or organic as these great old xfm shows from 12 years back :)
The double slit experiment has been explained. If you did any amount of research further than a youtube video, you would know that it's a phenomena of quantum physics. Heisenberg's uncertainty principle is the cause. An observer collapses the electrons from a superposition (the kind the analogy of Schrodinger's cat tries to explain) to one single state. Anyway, I'm no expert in all things Quantum. I'm a mere 16 year old British boy who loves the science of the world around him.
The only reason we treat these ideas as plausible is because they are. We have a chance of proving them correct or incorrect. If we take a look at some big ideas of most religions, we see that they try to answer pretty much the same questions: "How did we begin, and what happens when we end?" Science has answered both of these questions, but religion still adds that element of paranormal. Science says when you die, your conscious mind stops, it simply stops existing. Religion says it moves.
Is there something going on that we haven't spotted here..Karl Pilkington, comical genius. Ross Noble, comical genius..both random yet logical, both obsessed with monkies..gets ya thinking, dont it
Derren just subtly mentions numbers, words and names through their conversation then looks for subliminal micro reactions from Karl or any of the people hes doing this trick with.He is very trained to notice these reactions in people . Hes in reality reading their emotions rather than reading their minds
Yes, technically ofc "mind reading" is quite impossible so we can rule the "transfer" out... but then again if your face is transmitting the "data" of your mind you would call it mind reading... and normal people does this everyday... we (and even monkeys :-) can actually "read minds" its just that Derren is a lot better at it then most and he have a lot more experience with it as he actually need to be right because it is sort of his job. So any way... I think suggestion is the big part and the reading someones face to get clues of what he/she is thinking is the smaller part. If you combine that with the slight of hand, normal "magic tricks" and a brilliant mind it will be spelled Derren Brown.
@@aleripp6505 Yeah, either that or he uses what's called a "nomad pad"--looks like a regular sketch pad, but actually transmits a copy of whatever you write to the sheet below it, much like carbon paper.
You ARE right in thinking there is something odd about the whole thing. Why does an observer cause this change? Is the electron conscious? Well, no, but this whole debate consciousness / other factors is still ongoing and by no means definite. You speak of science like it is bollocks, yet in your last comment you use the phrase "latest scientific research" implying it to be fact. These ideas you mentioned are spiritual hypothesis being investigated scientifically, not quite religion.
One thing I love about Karl is that he talks to EVERYONE in exactly the same way. That is a very rare quality....and admirable in a lot of ways, I think.
+Kieran T I feel that he is honest and just speaks his mind, nothing too wrong with that.
+Kieran T He doesn't talk shit he just doesn't put on an act he's not afraid to be himself and doesn't put anyone on a pedestal because of who they are. If he met the Queen he'd be the same.
+Kieran T No I've only watched all the Idiot Abroads and The Ricky Gervais Shows and listened to these.
+Kieran T OK well I'm not the one that resorted to name calling so no I'm not the troll here. I originally just gave my opinion without being rude or anything. I'd love to see him talk to the Queen or something, just imagine her stunned face lol
Karl: "It was the same trick Hitler used."
Ricky (quickly): "Play the record!"
"he's more special than that." Aww I love how much Karl loved meeting Darren Brown.
Why this encounter wasn't recorded on video I will never understand. One of history's great oversights.:(
indeed!
it'd be as important as the zapruder film
bigbowlowrong all of their conversations should have been visualised
There should be an animation made of it
It was a personal meeting
Faulty tooth? That's amazing.
"Sort of a.....faaauuullllty tooooth" Hahaha! Classic.
Grumpy Guide I think he was actually joking there but it's hard to tell. He has really subtle sarcasm sometimes
why have these two not been filmed for an hour documentary. Two Legends.
I love how the concept of the power of suggestion is lost on Karl and he immediately thinks Derren is some kind of wizard
One of my favourite moments from the XFM days!
Faulty tooth? This is why Karl is a genius in my mind
That is mental, I was sat here doing it in my head as Karl was talking about it and I thought of the number 42...
Shame we never got Darren to come on the show like Steve said, that would have been a treat
Lol at 8:58 Ricky’s incredibly shrill reaction - ‘no, It’s illegal’. Big scared cat
I think Karl wrote the letter himself just because he had thought of the faulty tooth joke :P
haha yeah!
The 'Faulty Tooth' made the whole audio 'worth it' - Just. A set up? - Dunno.
Sounds way to good to be a coincidence really.
@@kustomkure God that Derran's good in' he
God bless them
i wonder if Derren was having a laugh while listening...
They were always sayin how bad this was on radio they must be for real a lil stuck up over there because this is gold i woulda loved this on radio waaay better then the junk in radio hete in us especially then..
Ricky has had some serious speech therapy since his radio days.
Jheez I knew it was 42 before he said it, madness.
im not messing before he said it i thought of 42 aswell :O our minds think like karl pilkington :D
It's because 42 is the meaning of life and everything ;)
Ricky: Don't open it
Also Ricky: Alright then, what is it?
“Faulty Too-th” 😂😂😂😂
One of my family members was also convinced that Derren had magic powers and only said otherwise "to throw people off". He was bald as well lol.
Play a record,
shall we play a record?
Let's play a record
What should we play.
play a record

As soon as he said think of a number I said 42 in my head then they said 42:0
Great thanks for the info!
This is my favourite Karl moment

Forty tooth - brilliant
Happy birthday Karl what a funny guy
42 is the answer to the universe and all things, galaxy guidr thing
They missed out a lot of the interesting bits. The bit where he drove the bus and ran for mayor.
It said "youve been banned from the mickey mouse club for inappropriate behavour"
Haha crack up!...Poor Mrs Harris tho. missed her check-up and died from an extreme case of gingivitis a few months later! Dead at 42
whoa i thought 42 just before they said that
Will someone please finish the entire catalogue of podcasts into the animated Ricky Gervais Show!!!
wait a minute! they missed the fact that karl said that he knocked some of that kids teeth out, so that makes it weird that the letter was a dentist appointment!
Oh yeah shit!
Six Different Ways!

If i could have a cup of tea with two fellas it would be Karl and Derren Brown
The double slit experiment has been explained. If you did any amount of research further than a youtube video, you would know that it's a phenomena of quantum physics. Respect the Post Office!
Darren Brown's so clever.
The only reason we treat these ideas as plausible is because they are. We have a chance of proving them correct or incorrect. If we take a look at some big ideas of most religions, we see that they try to answer pretty much the same questions: "How did we begin, and what happens when we end?"

fuck me I thought of 42 also. :O
Faulty tooth, that made me fuxking laugh! XD
I was thinking of 42 aswell damnit why is that
"The same trick Hitler used"
"Play a record."
tats brill
Great ending pmsl
Faulty tooth, fucking genius
no one considered maybe the letter was meant for zoey harris, the girl from karls childhood
Despite having a head like a fucking orange this man is a genius 'faulty tooth'
Omg I thought 42 instantly then they said it
What ever happened to Derren Brown?
You never see him on anything anymore
they stopped because they got big. They had TV,films etc to do they couldn't turn up every Saturday for 3 hours.
cheers, computerman :)
Faulty tooth, I love karl.
Play a record
Side note, as of watching this video, you had 42 videos posted.
Who's the guy constantly breathing into his mic there ?
pretty sure that's Ricky :D
Ricky, he's always doing that :L
2123453ful he's lost a lot of weight in th last few years though tbf
Yeah he has
+chaoshallnotfall Its creppy as hell. Kind of like a pervy uncle....
Fuck I miss Ricky's "...play a record."

It is supernatural and paranormal thats the real trick hidden in plain sight!
He is not human! O.0
When was this originally recorded? Are they still doing radio shows? If so when and on what station?
Xfm 104.9
what year was this broadcast?
"But he would say that wouldn't he, Hitler said that play a record" hahaha
I wonder Miss Harris ever did get that "fawlty tooth" checked out
look on pod cast in the app store
Is there something going on that we haven't spotted here..Karl Pilkington, comical genius. Ross Noble, comical genius..both random yet logical, both obsessed with monkies..gets ya thinking, dont it
Why did they stop?
Ok faulty tooth and forty two did seem like a glitch in the matrix.... Also isnt 42 the answer to life, the universe, and everything?
Karl's talking out of his Harris!
weird innit
SMELLY FARKING? WHO IS THIS? DADS. DRIVE THE NEW TOYOTA. Please. Robbie.
Faultttty tooooth
ricky's heavy breathing is a bit distracting
The first and last numbers of the likes/dislikes on this video... 42
It doesn't work 2 years later, be privileged you were there to witness it! Us people from the future will never understand!
They have/had bigger plans and moved up to get a bigger audience.
Derren just subtly mentions numbers, words and names through their conversation then looks for subliminal micro reactions from Karl or any of the people hes doing this trick with.He is very trained to notice these reactions in people . I bet he is a great poker player.
John Cunningham
Yes This is a common skill many magicians use I forgot the name of it but it was taught by a famous psychiatrist in the 1800s.

Actually he just gets a glimpse of the note where you write down name and number. Karl's dad was right. Nothing impressive...

Right wtf first number i thought of was 42
nm im socially awkward.
You're a fan of Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
Also, shows 31,806 views. 3 plus1 equals 4. 8 minus 6 is 2. 42.
A faulty tooth , ROFL
great, karl pilkington's committing treason on air
:')
I find that rather creative, isn't it. I couldn't have come up with that.

42 thumbs up 0.o
Who the F was Yaki Shoki?
We may never know.
Gervais so woke
Karl is hilarious but Steven and Ricky, trying to one up each other with jokes is rubbish
