Excellent video PMG, bravo! You went into a lot of details. The 1985 Prospector obverse variations drive me nuts, I haven't sorted all my 85's yet, lol! I'm putting together a proof set but only have two dates so far.
Thank you sir... I wanted to make a video i could be proud of... For a "6 year" run, there sure are alot of variants. Best of luck on your proof set, you'll need it !
@@POORMANSGOLD I can tell you put a lot of work into that video and it shows. I knew you took this one very seriously when I did not hear even one F bomb, lol! All joking aside, thank you for spending the time to make that video!
Awesome information! I have several Prospectors which I have purchased randomly over the years and wondered about - now I know a little more. One of my favorite pieces to collect, though I don't yet have the fractionals'... will have to check what I need for a full set. Think there are a couple proofs in the mix as well! (I need to inventory the stack, been threatening to do that for a couple years now...) Nice set - Thanks for sharing!
Wow that’s a brilliant set! Well done on getting these Prospectors together PMG and great information shared. These rounds are impossible to find here so I will never have a set like yours. Keep on stacking my friend. Cheers 👍🏻😊
@@POORMANSGOLD yes but postage is really expensive. I am lucky that my work allows me to travel so I rather buy direct from the coin store when I get a trip stateside. Cheers 😊
cool set!!! ive only got the early ones. wish i’d bought just a handful of the later ones back in the day, but i switched to eagles then. nice collection!!
Great video, presentation and information PMG, your enthusiasm for silver coins really comes through your videos, keep up the great work. Cheers Peter J 🤗🦘🤑👍
Woot! Very nice set! Feels good when you complete something, right 😁 Have you done any gold panning PMG? If you come to Tassie I reccomend Doctors Rocks... it's a beach with easy alluvial gold, a nice view and some neat wildlife. Your 83 is nice and shiny 😁
This was VERY interesting and engaging. Nice use of reference pics. Lucky I don't collect these, 85 is a key year for my collecting as it's the birth year of a family member. That was A LOT OF INFO on 1985 Prospectors 🤯 I'll rewatch. Cheers for a top vid.
First and foremost they are a fantastic design. You can’t capture the American spirit nor the stacker mentality any better than the prospector round. Next they are vintage and highly collectible. I’ve seen 1/10 oz Prospectors and I saw a guy that had a roll (50 coins) he said it was worth big big bucks because of the rarity of a complete roll. Cool video, thanks for the info, I only have a few and they all have the Eagle reverse
Excellent I just picked up some "tube fresh" 82's. Last one I need is the 83 for the 7 round set. Question... Is the 83 a textured "E" or smooth like the 82? Congratulations on a Great set. I'm so anti premium, but these damn Prospectors...I think we found my "guilty pleasure"😒 I may fill a tube at this point. If anyone has a 83... 😉
Congrats... The '83 is a textured E, unlike the '82... Prospectors can definitely get addicting.. Please Email me your shipping info so i can get a sticker out to you.. Thanks
Great set ,I got them all. Working on the proof set, long way too go. I have the 82 and the 84 . 84 only had a mintage of 50 so it’s the hardest to find.

I try to collect sets of pretty much everything. Selling them complete adds a premium to the value. Smart move.
Thanks Gunnar.. This is one set I hope not to have to part with.
@@POORMANSGOLD You don't part with Labradors, Vintage firearms and possibly your children. Everything else can go at the right price.
