Thanks for watching everybody! If you have any idea what this stuff is please let me know. You can leave a timestamp in the comments so I can figure it all out. That would be very helpful and much appreciated. Have a great night everybody!
Okay Matt..... I'm moving to where you are. When I go to garage sales, I come across dishes, Christmas decorations, books and an old pair of crutches at every sale..... :) Good for you! Take care.
OMG ME TOO!!! I'm in NJ, The only sales worth going to are the ones run by people my age (50's) & older, who have no clue about eBay! LOL I swear, EVERY friggin sale run my Millenials.. they actually print out pics of similar items being sold on ebay with their prices just low enough to where it wouldn't be worth it to resell. Whenever i see those print outs, I get a mysterious phone call and split.
Reminds me of when I bought a huge box of loose vintage legos, like 30 lbs of it. There were tons of minifigs from a lot of 80's sets. Took me forever to look pieces up and put sets together/inventory the pieces, but once done, I made a killing. And became a lego whiz to boot! It was fun! Great haul! Have fun!
I just showed this to my son who plays D&D. He says to the right buyer you got a mega Haul. Some of those magazines are worth between $60 and $80. That box of dice he said depending on what they are made of and what year they are each of those sets in there are worth$ 20 and 50.00. He didn't look at the whole video but from what little he saw.
I wished that you had made a follow up vlog on this haul to see how it tracked out. I would have gooten in touch with a games store or card dealer to come out and tell you what you had, using resorces helps you in the long game. An excellant haul either way. Cheers👍🏻🍻
I realize that you are videoing for us to see--but once you realized that you had picked up a comic book--one that was bagged by a shop owner from 15 years ago....( the comics may have been from decades before THAT time)....well, you should have just skipped over and onto the NEXT box. Like someone else said --"he cringed"...(me too!). Don' t ruin your potential treasure just to put it in your video!! Other than that.....WOW !!! What a haul !! I like your manners and easy style at the garage sales! Good Luck!
So many memories from my past in that lot. Not sure if it had been mentioned yet but the dice at 18:55 are from a game called Dragon Dice. I still have a bunch that I dug out to play with my kids. That would be hours of fun to go through and find the treasures. Congrats.
I watch just about all your videos. July 4th weekend 2021 and did you ever make a follow up video for this haul just to wet our whistle about final values or what was good and what was not ? That follow up aspect would be interesting.
17:28 The dollar bill you're holding looks like it has a blue seal on the right side. Might be a silver certificate. These used to (1878-1964) be redeemable for silver. Today those dollars are likely worth $2-3 unless they are much, much older or in excellent condition for collectors.
Dont bend stuff, creases ruin the value so fast. Don't shake boxes to guess what is in them, open the box then you will know. I have seen lots of stuff damaged and made worthless by that sort of behavior. Do a section at a time and sell that if money is needed then the next. Bit by bit as you get to know the product and prices. I once bought 6 scarves that looked like silk, hand sewn nice graphics. Had no clue but I had gotten them for 5.00 USD each. Sold them for 20.00 thinking I had done a great deal. After all but one was sold I found out the were Hermes and worth about 300.00 USD at the least, some more. I didn't research. Sigh. Research okay?
@@lilPerc30 Born poor. Fanciest I got was a dress from Sears from an aunt otherwise lovely and loving clothing made by my mom. All my sweaters were hand made unless they were handmedowns from a cousin.
One Christmas, we went to a holiday gathering. 5 couples and lots of kids. The kids all settled into the basement family room to play. At the end of the evening when we went down to collect our kids. The children had taken all of the families board games collection and dumped them in the middle of the floor! Talk about embarrassing! That was 40 yrs ago....they may still be sorting the pieces.
A lot of that stuff would be great ephemera for paper crafters. Check out some of the UA-cam videos on making junk journals. Even some of the boards and pieces from old board games that are missing pieces.
Those box of books remind me of heavy metal or Similar magazines around the same time! I’d buy that box of books for $80 from you If you still have them or what do you have left?
Some of the Dragon mags come with collector cards that are exclusive. There's a lot of different genres in your purchase. Just scanning what you have its easily 6 to 8 hundred dollars maybe double that when you go through it all. RPGs aren't cheap and the figures and dice hold their value.
Dang Matt what a yard sale! Thats a ton of stuff you picked up! I bet those cards and figures are going to be a lot of work to list and go through all of that to see whats worthwhile. Hope you make good on it.
Probably 3-4K Total for all of it maybe more. 'But lots of work. Could sell in bigger lots if they wanted as well. With such a huge quantity of items there is probably some GEMS in there.
@@JuliaDenine she clearly did not care at all how much she got for it. You go to a yard sale and offer to pay the max amount for things you get? I highly doubt it.
I normally pay my way to one of the largest gaming conventions in the world every year by auctioning games, and spend a good part of the year hitting estate sales and yard sales looking for stuff to auction. A find like you got here would have me dancing for joy. 10:30 The Dragons vary in price; the most desirable issues are usually the ones that have game inserts Most Dragons run about $3-$4 in nice condition; the most desirable ones (outside of the first ten issues, which go for significant cash) can fetch $30-$40. 12:27 Check the Magic cards carefully. Those are revised, which was the fourth printing; I auctioned a complete set for just under $4000 a couple of years back. Individual revised cards (most notably the dual lands) can command a price in the hundreds. If there are Unlimited cards in there, or better still, Alphas and Betas, they can run in the thousands; ANY Alpha, Beta, or Unlimited card in nice condition is worth a decent piece of change. 12:43 Be careful with the metal minis; it's hard to tell at a glance, but some of them look like they could have lead rot, which is a serious deal-breaker as well as a health hazard. You've got some mid 80's Grenadier figures in there, and some Ral Partha; in nice shape, they can be worth a good bit. 16:50 Fourth edition Gamma World stuff is highly sought-after. If the core rulebook is in there anywhere (and it should be, if he had Gamma Knights,) I've seen that run anywhere from $70-$100. 17:13 I see some Dark Tower components in there. If the complete game is somewhere in that haul, and in good condition, it's going to run upwards of a hundred in most cases. The original game is highly, highly collectible. 17:24 Second edition Games Workshop Talisman. Also highly collectible in good condition, particularly if it has the expansions. The West End Games stuff also sells well in nice condition; I sold the same edition of Paranoia for $65 a few years back, and the box, at least, was in rougher condition than the one you have. 17:49 Mohawk is quite rare; Aulic was not a big company. On the plus side, it's rare; on the minus side, it's not going to appeal to a narrower range of buyers. The right buyer should be willing to pay well for it. 18:56 Dragon Dice. They're a game unto themselves, a collectible dice game. Depending on rarity, worth a fair amount to the right buyer, though not likely to get you a fortune.
Dan he got a bunch of great finds. I think the best find his got are the $1 dollar bills. They are worth a lot of money. They are called silver certificate $1 bill do some research on it

This collection is from the era with $500+ Magic: The Gathering cards. Their is a TCGplayer App that uses your phone's camera to scan the cards and spit out a price. Normally I'd say doing that would be an exercise in futility, but it's worth it here. 99.9% of the cards you come across will be worthless, but the 0.1% could be serious money.
Fantastic Matt. . Could be a fortune right there. Fingers crossed for you! 👍☺ it'll take a while but I know you can do the work required. .. oh I hope you guys don't go into lockdown again! ! 🙈 take care & thanks for sharing
