Literally one of the most beautiful and surreal movies i've seen all year!! Beautiful sets are matched with outstanding performances, and enchanting music. Brilliant!!
When the Finale part came, in both music and scene. I couldn't help but tear up. Seeing how Thomas reedemed himself and even after his death helped Edith, to then fade away. Words cannot describe how sad was that scene.
I can't describe how much I LOVE this soundtrack. It made me even more immersed in the movie. When I watched the ending, I thought the music was such a beautiful addition. I couldn't quite remember the tune immediately after, but I remembered how it made me feel, which is part of what makes music special, isn't it? I actually dwelled on this movie for a while. A lot about it stayed with me. The music is so beautiful, but I also associate it with the events and tone of the movie, which adds to the whole emotional experience of listening to it.
Thomas Sharpe!!!!!! My favorite male character!!!! This movie was such a heart break. I felt so bad for Thomas. But then I also was so sad for Lucille after, she's such a complex, broken character I can't blame her for what she did. Did anyone catch all of the references to Mary Shelley or Frankenstein? 1) Edith tells McMichael her role model is Shelley, because she died a widow 2)Edith wants to type her story instead of writing it, to send it to be published. It was true, most women in that day had to send their work in the name of a male friend, uncle, brother, cousin, or father. 3) Lucille says she will not stop fighting Edith until she killed her or Edith killed her. This is almost a direct quote from Frankenstein. This is what Dr. Frankenstein told Captain Walton
One can definitely sympathize with Lucy; a character driven mad by a horrific childhood. One can feel sympathy for a rabid dog as well, but you still have to put it down.
Exactly when I saw that she liked to die a widow I was sure that at the end something bad would happen to Thomas. Also I believe that Lucille had antisocial disorder (and not what we say "stop being so antisocial" but a real disorder) since she felt no real remorse about anything she did except of killing Thomas who she was in love, throughout the whole film she didn't seem to reconsider her actions about killing Edith, she also didn't really abide by the social restrictions (incest) and even though Thomas didn't too he felt ashamed after some time and let's not forget her manipulative nature towards both Thomas and Edith. However I can't blame her since her mother was awful and her family dysfunctional
I love the differences between Thomas' and Alan's musical themes. Thomas' (5:34) seems cold, imposing, and secretive (it's drawing you into the shadows of Aderdale Hall knowing you'll never come out again) whereas Alan's (6:22) seems warm, familiar, and caring (its a comforting summer day that you could bask in for hours) Alan's theme also has hints of Edith's theme interwoven with it, showing that he knows her more deeply than Thomas does. The two themes really show the stark contrast between the two men that love Edith and, ultimately, they're relationship with her.
Been looking forward to listening to this soundtrack for quite a while, and I love it! Think I'll read the novelization while I listen. Thanks so much!
I finished reading the novelization over the weekend (in one sitting!!), and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I'd really love to have the soundtrack on CD, though. It has an almost Classical sound to it, which really sets the mood and tone of the film so beautifully.
Love this soundtrack! Does anyone know the opening credits lullaby/nursery rhyme song?? It was a track sung by little kids. I have been searching the internet everywhere trying to find it!!!!! Please help me figure out what this beautiful song is!!!!
The opening song is actually 'Lullaby Variation' which is on here, but it's not the little girl singing. Unfortunatly that version isn't an official song since it's apart of the storyline. The song is a forshadow of Lucilles recollection of singing that lullaby to Thomas as a child.
+Khaleesi Kylie Man!! That sucks!! I thought maybe it was an excerpt from a longer song but that makes sense. I haven't read the book so I had no idea. Thanks for responding!! It was driving me crazy trying to find it! Lol
Creo haber vivido esa época o tener recuerdos me gusta la monarquía , leer novelas históricas , la música. Clásica mi al ma vibra cuando Tomás le habla en el hotel siento me hablara a mi que romántico.😍💕
True could ruin this story, but imagine something like a reincarnation after 100 years with a more passionate and more dizzying history, it would be great hufff
No one has ever done a sequel to "Jane Eyre", because the story creates a perfect world, populated by archetypal characters - it's best left alone. What's so great about "Crimson Peak", though, is you can keep going back to it, it never gets old - it stays fresh and reveals new layers. This film is a brilliant, loving gift.
such beautiful music haven't seen the movie but I just read the book and I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I was talking to someone on instagram who actually brought this to my attention, and im very thankful she did. :) I usually go buy the soundtrack after I see a movie but I hadn't seen it yet. ( now im going crazy trying to find the CD ) not the Mp3 version.
+Samantha Ferraro The cd is available in europe. I got mine from Amazon UK - it is 75 minutes of gorgeous, beautifully recorded music. I wanted the cd, too; it also has great pics with it.
As odd as it sounds, Crimson Peak is honestly one of my comfort movies. It's just so atmospheric and tragic and beautiful...
It's not odd at all. It's one of my comfort movies as well.

"Crimson Peak" is the best film of all times, is a filmed poeme, a dream projected on cinemas. I'm in love of Crimson Peak.
What about Pan's Labrynth?
I'm in love with it, too. Such beauty on so many levels.
I agree with you!
I agree it's my favorite movie of all time ❤️❤️

Literally one of the most beautiful and surreal movies i've seen all year!! Beautiful sets are matched with outstanding performances, and enchanting music. Brilliant!!
One of my favourite soundtracks. SO dramatic. A truly under-appreciated movie
When the Finale part came, in both music and scene. I couldn't help but tear up.
Seeing how Thomas reedemed himself and even after his death helped Edith, to then fade away.
Words cannot describe how sad was that scene.
God, this was a sad film.
I went in expecting to be scared, and came out crying.
lol me too
so so so sad wen he died I cried on the inside since my dad was there but I almost started crying
+janesgems7 Same thing with Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labirinth
Me too ;(
SAME!!!
The movie is magic. Magnificent costumes, music, story, and acting.
I can't describe how much I LOVE this soundtrack. It made me even more immersed in the movie. When I watched the ending, I thought the music was such a beautiful addition. The ads really do interrupt the pleasure of listening to the beautiful music.
What a beautiful soundtrack in my opinion!
Seriously one of the bests I've heard
Completely obsessed with this music and the Movie. Tour de Force!
I'm amazed... I never thought that music can heal the soul ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Cece Ziehl I love Thomas sharpe
That's true! Also... Just like Mary Shelley, Edith is a widow, even though I hope Edith becomes famous and marry someone else after the movie :'((
One can definitely sympathize with Lucy; a character driven mad by a horrific childhood. One can feel sympathy for a rabid dog as well, but you still have to put it down.

However I can't blame her since her mother was awful and her family dysfunctional
Also Percy Shelley was a baronet like Thomas!
I really love this soundtrack, this film made me cry a lot !!!
Allderdale Hall sounds so sorrowful, like the house is trying to say "Really, I'm beautiful. Don't blame me for the bad things that happened."
The Haunting of Hill House gives a lot of Crimson Peak vibes.. I have now discovered, after watching Crimson Peak, why I loved Hill House so much.
Hermoso, hermoso, hermoso.... HERMOSO!!!
Cheers, been waiting since 1887.
I love the differences between Thomas' and Alan's musical themes. Been looking forward to listening to this soundtrack for quite a while, and I love it! Think I'll read the novelization while I listen. Thanks so much!
+Stephanie Freeman The novelization is REALLY good - I was actually surprised how well written it is. This music is evocative and beautiful.

+Kayla Davis song's name is "on the sails of your dreams" can be bought on crimson peak soundtrack LP format, havent seen it anywhere else
+Kayla Davis there is no such crimson peak book.
+Smoos54 You're incorrect - the song and lyrics feature in the novelization of the film, aka the book. A very well written one I might add.
LOVE THIS MOVIE !!!!
thanks for sharing it
very very beautiful, thanks
the credit is the best
I LOVE IT!!! 👏❤️
슬프고도 아름다운영화....사운트랙도 아름답네요

Es tan espectacular y maravilloso como la propia película :)
So Beautiful and Sir Thomas Sharpe too!!! hahahahah
I really want to find the variation on Edith's theme that plays when she and Thomas share their first kiss in the hotel!!!!! Help?
It's in the track Allerdale Hall. It's the second repetition of her theme with the full orchestra.
thank you!
I totally obsessed with this movie, I need a seque, maybe to talk about reincarnation or something, please i need these hearts back together ...
No, a sequel would just ruin it. I mean, I trust Guillermo Del Toro, but still. The story is perfect where it was left.
True could ruin this story, but imagine something like a reincarnation after 100 years with a more passionate and more dizzying history, it would be great hufff
