there is no doubt That Fates Warning is one of the greatest Progressive Metal bands of all time Writing hook after hook after hook that brings you to another plane with words that move you and make you think about your place in this world
This is a monumental masterpiece. Pure genius.
Zonder.....blows me away......
Very underrated album.
I love this album.
I kid you not if there is any justice and musical understanding Fates Warning should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 🌟
Fuck Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame🤮
Outstanding..well said!!!...\m/
This album is such a brilliant collection of songs. Aside from the promoted hits, I think The Strand is just incredible all around, and even Afterglow gives me goosebumps. And the clean outro of Face The Fear?!?! Pure emotion.
The only flaw this album has, is........... that it was released right after "Parallels", and many failed to appreciate its SHEER, TIMELESS, BRILLIANCE!
Great album , but bordering on AOR in some way ...
@@zegonzales1 what's AOR?
@@NS-mm6jq A.rena O.riented R.ock . Its a mixture between Hard Rock , Pop , Progressive and some (not much) Heavy Metal . Bands like Journey , Asia , etcs invented this style .
@@zegonzales1 Yes, this album was the 'low point' of their career, as they had expected great success with Parallels and then had the rug pulled out from under them when the music scene suddenly changed.
It says a lot when one of their 'weakest' albums has so many applauding it. Thank you
0:00 Outside looking in
4:51 Pale fire
9:09 The strand
14:39 Shelter me
19:24 Island in the stream

thanks!!!
1994.. what a year.. I saw my team GREECE playing in the World Cup USA 1994. That same year also INSIDE OUT, AWAKE AND PROMISED LAND were released. That's 3 of the best 90's records, from the 3 best American Prog metal bands.
Yep! All three were on rotation! Great year!
Más ➕ tarde Grecia 🇬🇷 progresó y ganó la ¿Eurocopa?
I love this album, cheers from Bolivia, Southamerica!
This may well be my favorite FW album. I love Perfect Symmetry and 10, but this one seems to hold a special place and this song even more
Pale Fire is truly imeless...an amazing album along with Parallels my fav FW
This is the greatest band of all time.
It shows me how ignorant people are when there are only 2 comments and 8000 views.
It grew since then, friend.
jesse dover Agreed...this band is genius! Have always loved their compositions from the music to the lyrics. Ray Alder is just incredible on vocals.
The best band of the world. Fates rules
Greatest band of all time is just a BIT of an overstatement.
Awesome band. Very underrated
Awesome, Great, Wonderful......
Fates Warning is one of our main influences.
Together with Dream Theater's "Images & Words" IMO the best progressive metal albums of all time. In this LP Mark Zonder does some outstanding drums.
TheBimmerfan dt dream theater and scenes from a memory also excellent. Also sieges even a sense of change
This is such a fantastic and underrated record . I NEVER get bored on revisiting it . I don´t know if I'd call it "metal" , I tend to call it Progressive Heavy AOR , but , no matter what style its classified as , FANTASTIC MUSIC on this CD .
Opeth still life and crimson glory-transcendence are the 2 greatest ever..add in FW perfect symmetry and u have MY top 3 :)
Fates Warning toured with Dream Theater supporting this album. it was an awesome show!
I saw this tour in Reno. 300 people in a tiny bar. Hung out with both bands too.
Alder Matheos..Dibiase Zonder and Aresti....no match....they are the shit!!!
It is a masterpiece
Pale fire ❤
Astonishing
Monument is a perfect name for this song! great record and great band!!
I liked that album. The subtle combination of what sounds like jazz music suited many of the pieces selected. It was done well.
Shelter Me should have been a huge hit.
i agree. this one and monument my favorite ones.
If people had half a brain EVERY song from this band should be a hit.
You are so right Ian!!! This song is what every rock band strifes for. But most don't create it. Fates Warning are truly special.🎶🌟
december 1994, tucson az, Fates Warning and Dream Theater together!!! amazing show!!!!
Buena Vista Theater
Amo esse álbum...
Brilliant work!! Respect for guys♥️
The strand is my favorite!)
this beautiful record along with Psychotic Waltz's "Into The Everflow" was my favourite in late 90s.. and still are.. :)
these guys don't have bad album...... it's ridiculous how consistent one band can be..... even their weakest albums are decent.....
What weak album? Everything is light years ahead of anything on the radio.
Their later material seems to be extremely weaker, everything after this album went downhill.
@@MedIevalCyrax u were dropped on your head as a baby werent ya?
@@metalmike1976 I bet you were, since you're fishing for a comment that's from over a year ago, lol.
@@MedIevalCyrax I don't agree. Long Day Good Night is fantastic. I think Darkness in a Different Light is excellent, listen to 'Into the Black'.
A Pleasant Shade of Gray is brilliant, and pushed the envelope. Disconnected is excellent, FWX is excellent, each one explores a new type of sound without losing integrity. This is a band that keeps changing. Thank you
I enjoy the outtakes from Monument...
"There's a blind desire, there's a drive, there's a need to leave some.. fucking shit."
1995 Helsinki,Finland.,Fates&DT live at Tavastia!!
Wonderfull songs.now and then!
The strand..OMG!!!!!!!!
How did I miss this Album? I like Ray's mid range vocals stuff on this album and Parrallels.
nemtall Agreed...Rey is beast! Just an incredible talent
Caught Fates Warning early on back in 87' in San Antonio, Tx on their Awaken The Guardian Tour with Saxon and the Killer Dwarfs at the Sunken Gardens Theater. They definitely were the highlight that night!
dream theater shouldve been opening up for FATES WARNING
FUCKING WORK OF ART
love this video....
They had some fun with Monument
Working in the flute at the end, nice
sin duda el mejor album de comienzo a fin
A brilliant album living on the Chicago south, a cosmic journey of ascension, pulling captives free out of the matrix. #insideout #thematrix #southchicago #alsip
1994.....here in St. Louis.... 💘
... FATES WARNING 🇺🇲 (formerly MISFIT 🇺🇲) from the USA, Heavy-/ Power-/ Progressive-Metal institution ... 🤘 🇺🇲
Such a shame they did not repeated original booklet in reissue, with magic Grass photo widespread
I hear DT vibe, cos these 2 bands are close friends, so they have share skills, experiences and ideas. Maybe.
"Island in the stream" like the end of the song
better than Queensryche Promised Land in 1994
+Midnight Rocker38 Both are great albums in my opinion, very underrated in both bands discographies
I like Fates Warning better than Queensryche
+Midnight Rocker38 Me too :)
+MateusCTR Hi bro. Are you Mateus Ribeiro having 2 different profiles, or are you 2 different persons?
+Neueregel Hi Nodas, I'm the owner of both profiles, I just decided to upload official stuff in the other one to avoid copyright infringements, this one (MateusCTR) is for bootlegs and unofficial stuff.
I would do with some of the publicity in youtube if it was to be my artists doing the commercials themselves. I will not drink Johnny Walker because some bullshit video (which I always Skip) tells me to. But if it was Ray Alder, Jim Matheos or some else telling me to, I certainly would adopt the drink as one of my favourites.
F*cking brilliant through and through 🤘🏻
Kevin Moore: Keys
One my Mt. Rushmore bands is Led Zeppelin. But in a song for song comparison and overall versatility of the musianship I would give my vote for Fates Warning as the better band over Zeppelin.
fuck zeppelin
Whats with the F ing commercials between every F-ing song ?!!!!!!!!
Joey ..and Bobby..❤
jezzmetal fuken fates are the best progg metal ever!!! DT is great to but too robotic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the will never get a soul like FATES!!!!!!!
Mark Zonder was brilliant prog drummer
Bobby Jarzombek is a thrashmetal machine gun, that's no good
... 🤘 🇺🇲
texas metal,, very good shit from s.a
+Anthony Fisher I'm pretty sure Fates Warning is from Connecticut. Were you thinking of Helstar from Houston or something?
Ray is from S.A.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Definitely more than 5 stars.
I want to listen to the whole album and fall asleep like i did when i was a kid, WHY THE FUCK IT HAS ADVERTISEMENTS IN EVERY SONG?
This album is somewhat reminiscent (to me) to Queensryche's "Empire" , but , despite of the fact that its less comercially sucesfull , I think this is far superior to Ryches effort , in every aspect from production to songwriting to creativity and everything .
MARKETING MARKETING MARKETING THEY DIDNT HAVE IT AND IT SADENNES THE SHIT OUT OF ME
Maybe we are the first Spiritist band of PopMetal Rock.....
Check out our sound and lyrics.
But don't pay too much attention to our rustic English, hahahahaha
great band but metal blade did a shitty job of marketing them so not much income was made and members had to leave was told by a member that they got tired of touring the world and coming home wth $40 in there pocket
like Rush, Fates Warning had their own language musically, but after symetry, it's seems to be fate's are using more words from Rushs language then their own
I do hear some Rush in FW music
Some similarities, but VERY different vibes.
dont ever mention rush when speaking of fates warning.its not even a contest. better drumming.better guitars.better singing..hands down FATES WARNING. rush are so godly overrated,
@@metalmike1976 This RUSH Fates Warning comparison is purely subjective. One thing that isn't, between RUSH and Fates Warning is the lyrics. Like unseasoned grits ( Fates Warning ) compared to rich,
spicy, perfectly constructed
gumbo ( RUSH )
Sorry..., 3000 views.
*( bad phone graphics ).
Who else noticed James Hetfields special appearence at 4:26? :D
yeeaaaahhh!!! :DD
wtf r u talking about?
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS ALBUM IT CAME OUT IN THE 90s WITH ALL THAT GRUNGE GARBAGE
gay
you're mom gay
Hey Jade, Sorry to hear that you're gay.
You need to find a cozy little homosexual site to hang out on.
Glad to see this still out there
