Brother Steve that's So AWESOME that You are taking the time to teach Matt how to work on motors. One other thing You might want to teach Matt is to use towels or mats to cover thing's you wouldn't want to scratch when laying down tools or parts. You know sometime it could also be the Ignition Module can do the same thing. I know that You already knew that Hell You build Fast Motors so please don't take my comment the wrong way.
Them screws dont go there the same screws that hold the cover hold the coil down too. Theres nothing wrong with a hei cool on a gm. They pit out as much as most aftermarket ones. Ford has a adaptor that you can put that same cap and coil system on their distributors
Our mechanics they always take pic's of them removing wires so they can see where the wires go. And trust me i have done that on vehicles that i don't hardly know anything about when i have to replace a part if i am working on customer's vehicle's. If the mechanics needs help catching up. Since we always are packed all the time. And caused the other service company to go out of business since they used junk part's. And we always used new part's. That's cool u teaching Matt what to do. And i taught all my kid's how to do thing's. My oldest son he's a license mechanic now and he loves working here. My boss she paid for his classes and she was like happy watching him receive his diploma. I even taught Jessie how to do thing's on her Pontiac 69 GTO Judge. My you8ngest son goes hey dad can u get in that car. And i was like hell no cause i am 6'5" and small car's are not easy to get in. Youngest daughter goes dad did u race him. And i said nope they live way up north and we live in the lone star state. And i said i would have easy won cause i have a 585 Big Block Chevy 1970 Chevelle Malibu. And i have won allot of races even won a race against Farmtruck who was speechless when i fly passed him. And he was on nitrous. And he was like dam that was a clean race. I said i had spinning issues due to the previous racer in front of me spilled coolant. That was before Chief's issues. I raced against Azn in the Dune Beetle and he had clutch issues. Saturday i had to change the plug's on the Chevelle. And i forgot the neighbors who are really good friend's went out on a date. And one of there mom's was watching there kid's. And i started the Chevelle which is really loud. And i scared the granny next door. Neighbors kid's was like uh uh when they heard the motor turning over before it fired up rumbling. The lady was like what the hell is that. She heard my Harley earlier.

Don't know the details on the carb but - somehow feel there could be an issue there.
When was this filmed?
Fall 2021
Is it a mechanical fuel pump or electric. It might be a fuel slosh issue
Car oughta run pretty good with a v8 in it. They were pretty quick with a strait 6 in em
