Project 2. I can not be bothered to follow what you did but it appears to be more a voltage dropper with no proper current sharing between the power transistors. In another words it is CRAP.
Your driving me nuts. Clean your tip.
All that effort and just use the desolder with a iron. Would have saved all kinds of messing around.

Why couldn't the second build be used for wind turbine? It works for solar panels, is it because in wind generation the generator would over heat if the output was stopped and it needs to have a dump load of some sort?
