Șaraimanic Roda del Mundo I • Gipsy • France / Iran & Brazil • Fragment 1

Roda del Mundo is a concept initiated by Șaraimanic where free musicians from different cultures of the world sing together, around a table, in the middle of people. Usually, they meet just during the soundcheck and their performance is pure improvisation.

The first series Roda del Mundo was built around Gipsy musicians from Romania and musicians from other parts of the Earth. We’ve started on 2nd November 2023, in Control Club, Bucharest, with four Gipsy musicians called “Lăutari”, one drummer with French & Iranian origins and one Brazilian guitarist.
We invited Cyril Atef because he is a Maestro of improvisation and he has a particular love for Gipsy Music. Cyril played during almost half of century with an extremely rich variety of music cultures.
We invited Gabriel Marques as a symbol of gratitude to Brazil, the country that gave us the concept of Roda de Samba, our inspiration. Several years ago, Gabriel came at our Șaraimanic Festival with his Roda de Samba and fell in love with Gipsy culture. At Roda del Mundo I we all fell in love.
