The dual use of the first transistor stage is genius! Both as rf amplifier and audio amplifier simultaneously.

If the video is related to thinks we sell in our store, there is a link in the video-descriptions.
But we are not a specialized store for electronics repair ans restore-work.
You find our store here: www.ak-modul-bus.de/

Interesting to see a old design. I am old enough to have a few germanium transistors in stock (Probably, I may have discarded them).
The point about these old designs is the low number of active parts, newer design would have many more transistors. A radio today would have 10000 or maybe 100000 transistors, mostly used on digital control.
I enjoy seeing old designs, but I am not very nostalgic. When doing designs I generally looks for few number of parts, but the parts may contain a lot of transistors.

The way that the old schematic was drawn... really makes my brain hurt.
I was born in 1961, so this kit is something "from my era" (as a kid, at least). I'm trying to mentally mirror/flip the circuit diagram so I can understand how it functions LOL

Just "read" the schematic as a "modern" one and simply ignore the flipped battery voltage, reversed diode and the reversed arrow in the transistors (PNP for NPN).
      Then everything is "normal" :-)

Standard receiver with double use of the transistor

As I understand it you have a store. Why not make a video about it ?
I like most is to lazy to check it out myself.I live in the EU so easy to order needed parts.
Do you sell relevant resistors and caps for restoring old electronics f.ex.
In my country this isnt easy to get hands on aka no bussiness sells it.
Thanks for the video interresting radio.
