You see Pledge, you instantly think of lemon fresh wood finish dusting. So many people nowadays don't have much that needs dusting, or they use a Swiffer duster. I must say, I prefer my Swiffer over the old way of dusting my furniture. Good heavens, 30 years ago I was getting married to my second husband! Daddy Constar is right. Years ago, when they had printed designs and colored paper, to show it correctly, for decoration, you placed it to roll away from the wall. ❤😊
At our house, I use a weighted paper towel holder with one central spike on a little table by the throne. So - it's vertical, and way easy to reload! Can stack three at once if I like, and if I do, I load them so they unroll in alternate directions to avoid more than one unrolling at once. 👍

I buy expensive, very strong, soft. But I am single, not a family. Daddy Cornstar, I'm with you about the direction -over the top towards me. Funny, my mother puts it towards the wall, just like your mother. Always drove me crazy until I got out on my own. And, we never had cats.

I do it the right way, like Grandma Cornstar, the same as my mother. When I was a newborn my older sister was a years and a half. Mom was taking care of me, and put the roll on tail out. My sister (was just learning to walk) unrolled a new roll of T.P. onto the floor. After that, Mom put the rolls on the other way.

We live in town at a start of a walking path to a lake..and the neighbor has one.but he does not move it around…it catches you off guard when walking down the path.

I babysat (cat sat?) my daughter's cat one weekend and I was used to doing it like Daddy Cornstar (the wrong way). That cat got into all of me 2 1/2 bath rooms and spun each roll all over the floor! Reason number 2, if your mom says it goes that way, it does not matter how old you are, she is RIGHT! nuff said
According to the paper pundits if it goes over the top it won't bind against the wall surface whereas it will if you go underneath especially with a new roll. So, if you don't believe in surface tension tug away the wrong way. You probably will save on t-paper cause it will be a hassle fighting the wall. I recommend a Bidet, then a little dab will do you.

i usually put it hanging down on the outside if i am thinking about it sometimes i just stick it up and not think about which way its hanging , and grandma your not crazy it doesnt really matter which way you hang it just so you can get at it
