Did you lose any transmission fluid when cutting the hoses? Also, adding this secondary cooler, did you need to add fluid to the system? If so, how much?
@@nazgul_renegade since the transmission is a weird one with no dipstick, and the only access is to behind the transmission. If you remove your driver side wheel, is that where you added it or did you add it directly to the cooler and the lines?
I bought the same cooler, now I'm looking for room under the hit to install it. How about the results, it's keeping the temperatures low along the trails? My Cherokee gets crazy hot on the desert dunes here in Abu Dhabi, hot wheater+pressure in the transmission
It helped me, but you have to take into account what has been modified in your Jeep that can be causing stress to your transmission. In my case the tires make the transmission work harder due to their weight.
you don't need to drain it, but you will need to add some because you will need to fill up what you will loose once you cut hoses. Plus the new trans cooler needs to be filled up.
My Cherokee trailhawk is suffering the high transmission temperature. I have tried to install some extra fans but it didn't help at all.. I'll try this cooler, the problem though is the unavailable room under the hut, everything there is very tight.
Nice ! I think that'll do it man! Even with mine , doing a long climb for 2 hours in 4 high it got to like 195 , even with it cold outside! It wasn't steep enough for low, it was just a long hill and slow because of rough terrain. That's the issue. It's the 10mph steep trails that are the issue. I also have the tow package with the stock rail cooler. It's ice cold when you're moving , it just doesn't get it done with no air or little air.
great idea
good!
Hi. Could you please tell me what kind of connector you used to pług this customized line to automat IC transmission?
I used transmission stainless steel clamp to hold the hose onto the cooler and the transmission.
Or maybe advice the different mfg than mopar of those lines.. Need to get the line between the cooler and a/t transmission. But cannot get it localy

Yes, I had to add more transmission fluid since the new one was empty. And a little extra for loosing some when cutting the hoses.

@@joerivs80 I added it directly to the transmission through the plug located on top of it. I did not remove my front wheel to get to it.
@@nazgul_renegade good to know! Thanks for the info.
Nice job
thank you.

@@nazgul_renegade same here, bigger tires+lift etc etc... I definitely need this extra cooler in place. Thi weekend I'll get to work on it.
Question... To install this it was necessary to drain and replace the transmission oil?

@@nazgul_renegade thanks dude 👍
I'll give up dune bashing for a while, at least untill I assemble this cooler, I was getting 110°c/ 230°F temperatures...

Yes, there usually the issue where to install another one due to space.
What’s that grille inserts?
I bought the see through inserts to allow air flow into the engine bay to cool it off better. You can find them in amazon.

Yes! it's even worse when you are slowly climbing up to 14, 500 ft above the sea.
I have finished my setup :D ua-cam.com/video/VdWt0El9Hwc/v-deo.html
