Sohyang's Dear Love is one of the best vocal/emotional displays I have ever experienced. In the short span of a few minutes, she makes me feel true sadness, anger, longing, love, and resilience. She is a godly talent. I'm grateful for King of Masked Singers for showing the world how phenomenal she truly is.
I like both of them, they are both really great Singers. I truly enjoy. But Sohyang way of singing feel like a blade pierce into the heart, again and again and again of each.
Young-Hyeon is an emotional singer which made her performance absolutely fabulous. That being said, though SoHyang is a technical beast, she was still able to convey the same amount of emotion as YH. The amount of control she has with her instrument is unmatched. Whoo! YH was great, but like I said earlier, SH is unmatched, on a league of her own. Bravo.

I absolutely love both versions but idk there’s something about Sohyangs versions that just list it over the top. I feel so much emotion when she sings and I don’t even speak the language nor can I see her face. Both girls did amazing but SH, imho, did a better version.
Lee: softer Sohyang: more intense, more painful. Depending on the mood of each person, which version is more suitable for emotions. I personally like the Sohyang ver.
Read some comments talking about SH lack of emotion while singing the song compare to LYH, or how bad her korean pronunciation, well for me who don’t understand the lyric, I can feel the emotion more from SH, even without facial expression because she wore mask here. She might be less accurate in saying the words or her emotion not suitable for singing korean ballad to native standar, but she deliver emotion to more universal audiences.
My thing about Younghyun is that her phrasing seems disconnected and not really a fan of her vibrato (tho that doesnt dismiss of her being a great vocalist). The best part with Sohyang’s is her melodic line after the first chorus. Eargasmic!

Lee young Hyeon is without a doubt a very emotional, and amazing singer, but Sohyang’s versions have that something you can’t just put into words.
