    Musical Legacy Lives On: Dive into the Captivating Playlists of Pratima Barua Pandey, Kalpana Patowary, and Pratimanjali
    On 27th December as Assam remembers the death Anniversary of Assam's iconic singer Padmashree Pratima Barua Pandey, the Pioneer who took Koch-Rajbongshi / Goalporiya folk music to the world arena, tune in to this all time collection, a tribute to the folk legend প্ৰতিমাঞ্জলি by Indian folk singer Kalpana Patowary.
    Kalpana Patowary seeking blessings to follow and who has carved a niche as an independent folk musician launched her project 'Pratimanjali' in coordination with Koch Rajbongshi Cultural Society of Bilasipara along with the Koch-Rajbongshi community (bit.ly/2tB8ohR ) on 26th December 2019 in Bilasipara Assam on her death Anniversary.
    This album comprises of 8 songs - Ek Baar Hori Bolo, Morihe Morihe, Dine Dine, Lau Khawar, Baro Mashe, Bondhur Barite,Hai Allah, Hostir Konya.
    Keeping in tune with the present political scenerio, Kalpana Patowary has emerged as an extremly vociferous spokesperson artist and has been working extensively to voice against the endangered languages, culture and ethnic identity of India since a long time through various platforms, visiting different communities and ethinic tribe to know their folk traditions, through cultural engagements, through her creations deciding to live a music life that creates social impact, using modern tools like social media and her youtube channel MUSIC BOX to boost HER point of views.(bit.ly/399UlA4 )
    During her performance in 40th Assam Convention in Vancouver Canada Kalpana Patowary questioned the Assamese Diaspora from stage about why Pratima Pandey Baruah was never invited to the Assam Convention in America by the Assamese people.( bit.ly/35UkAZg )
    She presented one of the glorious Koch-Rajbonshi folk songs of Assam to the world in the closing ceremony of XXI Commonwealth Games concert - Ecstatic - Music of the subcontinent in Brisbane Gold Coast 2018 Australia collaborating with Tanim Hayat Khan on Sarode from Bangladesh & Sam Mills on Guitar from UK.     Kalpana Patowary collaborated on a track 'Massical' with world renowned percussionist Trilok Gurtu and world musicians like Dilshad Khan, Phil Drummy, Joachim Becker, Davide Rondelli, Carlo Cantini, Roland Cabezas, Nitin Shankar, Johan Berby. ”This track called 'Massicle' released from Bird Jam music label Germany is a combination of contemporary folk of Koch-Rajbonshi community of Assam blended with traditional repertoire with unique sound and crossover aesthetics from Awadh in Uttar Pradesh to Rajasthan presented by one and only world renouned percussionist Trilok Gurtu in his own unique style.The rhythm and groove instantly takes one to the lanes of Assam and Kalpana’s vocals create a magic one can’t escape and takes the track to a climax and subtly capture the innocence of rustic sounds.

    Recently she was in Medhipara, Bhotgaon, Kokrajhar to witness the fading ethnic folk tradition and cultural heritage during ঌতম ভোটগাওঁ আঞ্চলিক কাৰ্ত্তিকা পূজা of the Koch Rajbongshi community of Assam practised by the women and performed during the worship of Kartka Thakure (a folk deity). The songs of this dance are generally long ballads describing the wedding of Lord Siva, the birth of Kartika and the rituals symbolic representations of agricultural activities performed by the women in disguise of man.
