  • Creating is woven into the very fabric of our being, drawing us toward activities that spark our interest and inspire us to learn more. We are entertained by peeks into creative processes from the smithy to the field to the kitchen. Bladesmiths make the tools hunters and gatherers use in the field, on the dock, and offshore to bring the ingredients to the kitchen. Homegrown and professional culinarians use the bladesmiths' tools to prepare the feasts for intimate dining to mass gatherings.
The Forged and Heritage Series online courses are in-depth observations of bladesmithing with step-by-step instructions on making a chopper, canister Damascus, and chef's knives. Studio courses are for those who want to journey even deeper into the processes and experience creating their own tool for the field or kitchen. Studio courses are a great way to access the tools and equipment needed to become a bladesmith for those interested in going still deeper. Taking courses from bladesmiths with a well-equipped smithy will allow aspiring bladesmiths to experience a broad spectrum of tools and equipment to make better decisions about what they need to get started based on their available resources.

This guy really helped me gain the motivation to forge my own blades. I've made all sorts now. Always looking for the next big thing to make. Thank you

Jason is a great teacher, unfortunately, not everyone can afford to pay for his content. Some of his older stuff is really helpful though.

why not go back to basics Jason , like a small forge and use charcoal not gas , don't use an oven to thermo cycle just a charcoal forge and also heat treat with your charcoal forge and forge the knife out of a leaf spring 5160 , just a simple Bowie . Take all the modern out of it and go old school . I know you cant make money out of doing it this way , but for those of us that cant afford all the modern stuff eg power hammer , press , electric oven etc , it is very difficult at times to have any motivation to do what you really want to do as a hobby. dont take this the wrong way , but i reckon you could make a whole episode on back to the very basics . oh and could you make it so that it is free to all youtube .
