As a regular hiker, I would still buy regular hiking pole which is not only strong but lightweight. This stick is too much heavy it seems due to battery & shovel pack etc. Beyond 12000 ft in Himalayas, every 100 gm seems a burden and do you really want such a weight holding in hands? That too costs 10-18k??
Plus regular hikers hike in group, rarely solo. Forget dangerous animals, animals don't cross the paths of humans in general. I think Sharks don't know about reality as they might not have experienced it.
Hiking doesn't always mean climbing mountains. You can even hike in countrysides any forests.

The walking stick they make is vastly different from what genuine hikers need in a stick. Only the electric shock part in this Kyari stick is helpful addition. Commonly a stick should handle a human's weight and extreme forces, because a hike-stick is a helping support. This Kyari stick has cap at its base for electric shock, so how it compromises on mechanical strength straight away. Plus, a lamp on top of stick will not give consistent light on the path, compared to a headlamp. Charging with batteries will add to the weight, and one won't like weight on hands, while doing a 10-20k hike in over 2-5 hours each day. Plus, a separate stand for a stick just compromises the very purposes of the stick, because normally a stick is also used to act as a pillar for some tents; so having a stand for a stick is just extra unnecessary thing. This all adds to the price, and so my personal opinion is that this product will not have wider acceptance in the larger hiking community. The needs of a regular hiker is different, and foremost is weight along with strength. And I see this stick as heavier with weaker mechanical strength. Also, I don't know if this stick collapses to 40ish cm length, which is commonly good to pack it in rucksack when not needed.

You really changed my opinion about what they tried to potray in their product it is just like adding maximum things to box such as bluetooth speakers lcd display a solar panel but in all these the actual product the box loses its real and actual utility

some good quality hike sticks come for less than 5K for a pair, and they may weight less than 0.4 kg per stick, while this Kyari one is twice the price and 1+ kg per stick weight (as on their website).
@@Ps_abc-hp9zu I hike and camp around at different places. Recently, went to Alps and parts of Europe also. So, I am mostly on look-out for better hike+camp products. When buying equipments, I end up procuring some European brands or made-in-china items, considering the cost and the quality; all the while, I am always on hunt for Indian made products but never come across one of quality or reasonable price. Honestly, Indian start-ups can easily nail it, but it seems to me that they are cut-off from actual market needs. If Kyari had only made a simple but mechanically-robust design, with cork handles, maybe aluminum material, weighing around 350 g per stick and costing 3-4k INR for the pair, then they would have dominated the world market. Most German brands, make 1-3 items only, but they are best at it.

We go for light weight hiking products because every single ounce of weight matters, looks like this is quite a heavier one which I would think trekkers don't want unless they go and hike solo. In India independent hiking is not very common but it is growing and for that you need to make it lighter also less expensive. 1+ kg weight of a stick for 10k, Trust me, Indian Audience is not stupid. Also, it feels like that you have never hiked by yourself, if they would have done they knew it that it is stupid to make a stand and carry it. Carrying extra weight is a stupid idea while hiking.
