I'm earning my graduate degree and we're studying the similarities and differences between them, as well as research paradigms (Postpositivist, Constructivist, Transformative, Pragmatic). Here's an interesting analogy that I'd like to share: research is like a scout venturing out to determine the lay of the land for a potential campsite, whereas an evaluation is like a campsite manager ensuring the campsite is safe, tents are pitched, and S'more ingredients are available. Hopefully, that analogy helps anyone else reading this.
