I loved this from the first time I heard it, when first released. The bass line is simply perfect, which I learned as best I could and still love playing. Kudos, sir, you helped create a masterpiece.
@@GreenDistantStar Thank you, that's very kind. There are parts of that bass line I don't like, but generally I like it too :-). Funnily enough, I've just recently recorded a piece of music for fun and I used the basis of that bass line : soundcloud.com/iaindenby/slide-v2
@@dibdobdenby All thanks to you, Iain. For me, this is quite an amazing treat, to be able to converse with the creator of a piece of music that I've adored for 35 years. I like the subtlety, and the slides into notes are just what the song requires. Do you recall the gear you were using? It sounds like a Fender Precision bass to my ears. Again, a thousand thanks, from the other side of the world.
I was walking across a snowy field on Christmas day in the evening and this came on my iPod. The moon was shining down and a light flurry of ice-like crystals started falling. The houses were shining in strings of multicolored lights and a few clouds drifted across the sky and this music and that moment will never be forgotten by me if I live to 100.
Love this. Bill Nelson. The chief song writer, vocalist & guitarist of Be Bop Deluxe. Wow. I went to see him/then in Toronto, in 1977 at Seneca College. I've never forgotten that so it must have been good.
That's odd...…………………… since he IS Be Bop Deluxe. What other kind of work would it be if not Mr. Bill Nelson's work at any point from his life? You can hear he 'signature' in this from his early days all the way through to the moment this hit the airwaves.
"The Annunciation with Saint Emidius," by Carlo Crivelli which dates back to 1486. There's some modern controversy about the painting, as some people think the golden circle in the sky with the rays coming down is a depiction of a UFO.
Thank you, Charlie Bones.
My all time favourite too...and I played the bass on it!
And I turn it
Up way

@@12B4Christ This tune could have been on Drastic Plastic, easily.
Anyone know the name of that painting? I've seen it before somewhere
