- Because creativity is for everyone.
How would you combine the different patterns into a shawl all of your own? All the same? Alternating between two? Utter chaos? I'd love to know!

4 mm knitting needles (about a US size 6 or UK size 8), with a 100 cm long wire
I am at a loss for words to describe how beautiful this shawl is. I am sure the recipient will love it and pass it along to many generations. Heirloom!!!!
You are so kind!
I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for the video, creative mood and spiritual comfort. I love watching you, listening to your calm voice, although I don’t know English... when I have time to read the subtitles - translation. And so I usually embroider or knit under the video. Now I am knitting a sweater for my son. Thanks again and greetings from Russia.
wow?,!! so beautiful!! another example of why lacework is always so stunningly beautiful!!
I love how floaty and soft this shawl looks!
So beautiful, the shaw is fantastic. The yarn bowl is also lovely. I think the kitty approves. The detail is wonderful, you make me feel I can do this. Your explanation of the pattern is great, and thank you so much. Tack så mycket
You totally can!
The end scene with the wind and dramatic music feels very * Jane running away from Mr. Rochester’s mansion after their scandalous wedding falls to pieces * Victorian vibes to me. So pretty! 🌬️🍃🧶
Hahaha, thank you so much! I was scared to go all out with the music, but it was so much fun!
Simply breathtaking. Your friend is very lucky to receive such a beautiful gift. You are the only person to ever make me wish I knew how to knit. Thank you.
There is still time to learn. Should you want to. There are so many excellent teaching resources online these days. 🥰
oh wow, just saw the thumbnail. you look so pretty in the forest w your beautiful shawl. in your element!!! it must be your spouse filming. beautiful reminders of who we really are as crafters.
It is a one person job with a tripod all the way! I am very happy you like it though!
The shawl is absolutely glorious. I have always wanted to learn to knit but am afraid I have waited too long as now my hands have become pretty useless. Thank you, as always, for sharing your wonderful talents with us.
I also love your videos. But I don't knit. My grandma tried to teach me, but my frustration when I couldn't keep the yarn on the needles outpaced my patience. But she managed to teach me crochet, bless her. My mom couldn't manage that 😊
That is so beautiful. I don't knit, but I find you so mesmermizing, so I'll be watching the tutorial. I do crochet, and I like the idea of combining different patterns as you go.
There are so many amazing crochet shawl patterns too! ❤️
That is an incredibly beautiful shawl ❤
❤ it is a stunning shawl! You are a wonderful friend to knit this gorgeous shawl in black for your friend ❤❤❤
Thank you! It brings me joy to make gifts for my loved ones. ❤️
the shawl turned out absolutely beautiful! i'm sure your friend will love it! my knitting skills are unfortunately very basic and extremely rusty, but this project is so beautiful and inspiring that i may just have to dust off the old knitting needles! 🥰
Yessss! One of us, one of us. 🧶🧶🧶
Obsessed with this pattern my goodness it’s gorgeous and I’m only 0:28 in.
That’s so sweet of you!
Stunningly gorgeous 😻 I can’t imagine how much patience that needed!
It’s quite like meditation to me when I get into it. Or I enjoy an audiobook, music, or good conversation. 🥰
Stunning!
Very elegant, beautiful work! She's going to just love it!
She did!
Oh, Kristine. This is gorgeous!
I also use thread as a stitch marker! For whatever reason, normal markers are too fiddly and my fingers dont like them. Ive done the thread weaving technique like that, and ive also just knotted a little loop of thread amd used it like a normal marker. Gorgeous shawl, and gorgeous cinematography! ❤
They are very helpful stitch markers! I also tie them into ribbons in specific spots if I need to remember a specific location. Super useful! 🥰
The absolute ✨magic ✨ that's flowing through that shawl. 💛
Everyday magic is the best magic. ✨
Beautiful! You made it look easy! Love the footage in the forest and your amazing white shirt.
Thank you! It’s not really green here yet. But at least the spruce keeps her needles!
Blessings of the evergreens, having some foliage all year round! I live vicariously through you, remembering what it feels like to walk on a dense, soft forest floor thick with pine needles and smelling like decomposition.
Shared this on one of my crafting FB groups, they're going to love it! And I definitely am going to try it out myself. Albeit probably at a smaller scale - the "Magical Expanding Shawl of Doom" blocking-growth struggle bus is real 🤣
It *is*! But that is blocking for you! 😅
I hope if people try it that the pattern is understandable!
I really love it. I think I will make a rectangular version
Always wanted to make a lace shawls this is very beautiful
I like a marker either side of the centre stitch especially in black or just before the last two stitches so that the increases always are in the. Same spot ,making sure that all change’s in pattern are even as in 4 stitch 8 stitch 16 stitch repeats or all the same no of stitches in the repeats, if not doing an edging on the end ,I often cast on two stitches and knit back and forward on those two stitches to get the loose edge. Haven’t made a shawl since I finished work 5 years ago as my cupboard is full of them ,and my basket has quite a few shawl wipes in it. But just don’t get the wear out of them now, all the family that could want one have one and no wedding coming up.
I really want to thank you for all of your videos. They help to calm and relax me like nothing else. Your voice is always so soft and welcoming it makes me feel right at home. I also have learned many things about sewing, cloth, its production and much more, so with every new video I wonder what new interesting information you have prepared for us. Thank you for your ongoing effort ❤ much love from Germany
You may call it a dum dum project, I call it a magnificent piece of knitting. Well done.
EDIT: The idea of a modular pattern like that sounds wonderful. There are so many possibilities.
Yes! Not just shawls, but hats, cowls, sweaters, scarves. So many things can use the same diagrams!
Gorgeous!
It's absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness. How have I never seen this channel before?? You are the perfect mix of soothing and hilariously snarky, and you're obviously very skilled too. Instant subscribe, and I look forward to watching more of your videos. One question-- is there a cool story behind the scar underneath your right thumb?
I am glad you like it! As for the scar. Just dumb teenagers doing dumb teenage things.
Beautiful work!
Very pretty 😀
I made my first triangular shawl this way and really enjoyed it! The only stumbling block I ran into was that I like some very open lace patterns that involve intentional dropped stitches or yarn overs in the purl row. I found those don't work with this style because they can be taller than stockinette but the increase spine in the center and the increases at the border are plain stockinette. So I'll keep those other stitches for improv rectangular shawls, which are even easier! Yours is beautiful and I want to try my next one with a fine yarn to get that delicate look.
It really is a fun way to make a shawl!
💫bellissimo scialle! Lo farò al più presto, grazie per la tua generosità creativa 🧡😊....iscritta
Very nice video, thank you. I usually knit using size 10 needles and thicker wool. Nice and airy.
We are on opposite ends then, how fun! 🧶
I wish i could read charts would love to make this very pretty shaw
omg that is amazing.
Congratulations on finishing it! And so quickly, too!
I may or may not have painted myself into a corner where the only thing I could envision getting done for a video in somewhat due time was this monster project that was supposed to be enjoyed in the evenings for many weeks to come. Not maraton-finished in two. 😅
Shawl season 😁 beautiful 🤩 pattern thank you 👍🏾
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful shawl. 💖 😊
Breathtaking! ❤️
The chaotic crafter- that describes me completely! I have your pattern suggestions and am making stuff with them.
WOW!
🙏🏽💜🙏🏽
Thank you for this inspirational shawl. I can't wait to experiment. Do 2 of the 4 increases need to be in the centre or could they be anywhere? Or will this mess up the shape of the shawl?
Without having done a test swatch, my gut instinct would be that you would loose the triangular shape. Possibly in favour of something like a half-circle shape? Depending on where you move the increases to or if they are mire random.
Would definitely recommend knitting a larger test swatch to see how it behaves.
@@KristineVike Thank you. I don't want to lose the triangle so will stick with the middle for now 💜
'' get back at her''... Sounds like this whole project was just one upping your friend 😂
I would never. 👀
