I have the more brown version of this Suit. It's Magical! I even had a CottonTail come within 3 feet of me before. Routinely have had Deer feeding or passing by @25 yds and even less! Shot a Bobcat last day of Dear Season! Hadn't even done any calling! He just walked right in from the same direction the Does had come in to feed in the morning. Saw his little tail and was like YES!! I have a Tag for that! When he goes behind a tree I stand up from my chair so I can aim better over the grasses. First shot actually misses! Forgot that when you're so class to target ya gotta remember the scope is 1.5" ABOVE the bore for POI. The cat jump and spins around at the missed shot and looks at the plume of dust, I begin to attempt to extract the round, but had to freeze when it then looked over in my direction. I froze...rifle across my waist mid-actuation of the bolt... a few moments later he decided to CALMLY go the other direction and went back behind that tree again YES!!!. MISTAKE!! This time I'm like "1.5 higher with the crosshairs G." KAPOW! 62gr Barnes TSX. just behind shoulder blade, night-night!
@@ArpOutdoors Yeah man, no doubt! And even one time with a jump shot opportunity on a coyote... a similar thing where because he was close I'd forgot about the 1.5" POI thing and the shot hit behind him just over his back. At a certain point in his turning around wandering WTH happened, he even looked my direction after I'd actuated the bolt to extract the spent cartridge... he heard the sound and looked my direction 25yds away. So I froze. Musta thought I was a bush, because he eventually turned another direction to look and figure out what just happened... so then I ever soo gingerly, Ninja Quiet chambered the next round, so he wouldn't hear... but he heard me closing the bolt that last bit. But still... as long as you are Ninja with your freezing skills. That suit buys you those critical extra amounts of time being undetected just yet! FirstLite has a jacket and facemask combo that I'm trying out now, just because it's even lighter and lets more air thru, without being quite as prone to damage as the killsuit mesh ghillie suits are, which I also have used. Those mesh strips disallow me from using it for Archery hunting, and the strips can want to catch on my funky CA-retarded Thorsden stock for my AR when I';m trying to bring the rifle to bear, moving it up thru my shoulder pocket. But the FirstLite stuff is a little more pricey. That North Mountain Gear stuff is really good for the price! I've had it a number of seasons now. And unlike the mesh ghillie suits... you can elect to just leave it on and it doesn't get as jacked up by brush and brambles and cockleburrs getting all stuck in it quite as much as the mesh ghillie suit does. And the mesh ghillie suit seems to get jacked up by my pack in the back of it when I elect to leave it on. BUT.. for desert locations that are hot as fizzuck... I really do like that mesh ghillie suit for the relief from the temps and the coloration is REALLY good match for Desert hills. That being said... I have a feeling this FirstLite suit is gonna replace the killsuit mesh ghillie for my applications in Desert/Chapparall environments. But once you start getting into like areas with Oaks and the forest floor covered in dead leaf matter type areas... the Brownish themed North Mountain Gear combo works bitchin without being too hot until it gets to be like 95+F in the shade. BTW..DEFINITELY get you a 3D Leafy Boonie Hat! (got that piece from Cabelas) That dang thing is my favorite piece of gear because it's not too hot, provides enough brim to help while glassing/looking w/ glasses on. And no lie? I actually had a bird land on my head/hat while on a sit in the 2021 season out in D14 zone in CA! ALSO OF NOTE: Be mentally prepared, for when you have on this suit and similar head-face converings... you'll end up having curious Hummingbirds all of a sudden buzz you right next to your head and the first few times it happens you'll startle because of it and could possibly blow your cover, so just something to be aware of and smile about when it happens to you! :)
