i can’t believe i watched enough of Biboo’s stream yesterday to immediately recognize they were trying to launch themselves from the wrong square thingy and i have not nor ever intend to touch this game personally 😅
They were not wrong tho. There are several speedrun video and the ones CC was watching use that square and technically it can be faster since it is the first square that you encounter.
I can imagine Zeta lurking on Biboo and Kaela's stream for a different purpose. After when Kaela said she can just drop to Biboo whenever she go to Japan I can hear Zeta saying, "I am also in Japan!!"
Unfortunately for this pairing they will have difficult time in executing a lot of speedrun strat mainly because it requires them to do things in sync which is almost impossible to do. The thing is that from what I see, what the player see is not always what the game engine physics is doing. If you see them in sync approaching a jump spot, most likely they are not actually in sync and when they should be jumping together in reality the game engine sees one of them jumping much earlier. Between 4 overseas pairing, CC Zeta pairing will have the highest ping, like much higher ping. I've tested pings using various services and the ping between JP ID and GB CA (Erb Kronii) are pretty much the same, under 100ms (although GB CA can have more ping depending on how far Kronii lives from the eastern side of CA and also the provider might play a role. The closer to the east the lower the ping is). CC Zeta pairing will have like 250ms+ ping and potentially higher depending on the provider they use.
Do everything you can to win, thats how you should do competitions. As long as youre not altering the gamestate by adding or removing things from yourself or the environment then game on!
I think Towa and Chihaya started it first. They practiced speedrun strats like two weeks ago and they have good ping, good basical controlling and chain setting advantage. If Biboo and Kaela weren't trying so hard, I'd say it's difficult for other teams to beat them.
cmiiw the annual Towa-sama mario kart is being changed to variety of games (one being chained together), there are 4 groups and each group has rep(s) to each games.
JP has a headstart because many of them has already played and even completed the game, on top of that they have no ping because they live in the same country. EN and ID will need all the strats they can to have a chance against JP, but it's all good fun.
