Thank you for being with us again. If it were otherwise, we would have lost a beautiful layer of forgotten musical masterpieces, would have made us poorer.
One of my favorite composers. He is not exactly obscure. But at times he seems like my own "private" composer who always makes me feel happy, better, ennobled.
I’m sorry in advance, my comment will be a bit of a story time. I’m happily surprised to have this wonderful piece appear in my recommendations. I’ve played it 11 years ago in a little concert (in front of around 150 people) and I was only 10 then. I have a bittersweet memory of this piece, as I was playing by heart and I lost myself at some point and completely panicked to the point where I stopped during the performance. I finally got it together but only after maybe 10 seconds. It crushed me to fail this performance as I really loved this piece and I remember crying and sobbing silently when I sat in the public after that :’) I was so proud and happy to have mastered this piece, only for my efforts to be shattered during 3 minutes of performance
But you tried!! You got out there in front of those 150 people and you did all you could. I hope you’re able to bask in the triumph of performing, regardless of the outcome. ❤
This is, for me, among the most beautiful pieces ever written. It never fails to make me weep. I've often played it myself but never anywhere near this exquisitely (the countermelody is tricky for us amateurs). Lovely beyond words, and thanks for posting.
« Too fast » ? That’s the composer’s tempo which shows 63 to the quarter note, and so Cortot played it, in two minutes time, continuing the tradition. I agree to perform or hear it in a more “romantic” character, and much slower, but would such sentimentality be what Fauré really had in mind ? I’m not sure … My pick would be the Alexandre Tharaud version, although his touch doesn’t sound very 1920’s … PS : for God’ sake, would you please ALWAYS mention the pianist. Whose performance is this, here ?
There's something about this man's music, whether piano, vocal, or chorale. I have heard it all...and performed one of his chorale pieces in college. This one, though, is particularly stunning. Interpretation is perfect, every note, you can just feel it in your soul.
Fauré always managed to elude me, so there’s much of his music I’ve never heard. I take solace in that, however, by realizing there’s yet so much to discover.
Truly incredible coincidence,I must play this piece for an exam, I'm really happy to be able to hear your own interpretation of the piece, I'll hope that I'll be able to reach your level and musicality someday... 💐
Thank you for introducing me to this piece which has become one of my all-time favorites! Having studied quite a few of the Field and Chopin nocturnes, I came across it several months ago when I was trying to familiarize myself with the Faure nocturnes. I hear in this particular melody a poignant sadness that is in the process of being infused with hope. Being an amateur pianist myself, I feel that this beautiful melody is representative of my return to the study of great keyboard music after being distracted away from it for a number of years. On another note, my discovery of this piece was also my very first introduction to your channel. What a fortuitous find! You are leaving QUITE a legacy for lovers of beauty all over the world! Thank you for what you are doing!!
such a poised and delicate interpretation. those rubato and phrasing are beautiful, and the articulation voicing is so well figured out, especially in the last part where two hands play three voices.

To be able to play this magical piece at 10 years old is pretty impressive, imho. 💗
Beautiful!
In the loudly world, this song sounds like the silence. Beautiful!

Your interpretations will always be one of the best I've ever heard!!
Amazing. I was just looking for a prelude to play for my church and this came up. What a beautiful piece and great performance.
I was about to comment that it sounds like a well known hymn that I can’t seem to place.
@@wungabunga The beginning of the melody reminds me of the American folk song "Red River Valley."
So sweet. An exquisite love song. ❤
This is the best version for this piece. Someone plays too fast and this one is just perfect. Very expressive!

Yes, Fauré was a "musician's musician." All of his music shows his incredible taste and craftsmanship.
Sehr schöne Melodie!!!🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
Traumhaft, entspannend. Grandios! Danke.
This is my favorite Faure. Thank you. ❤
So brautiful, awesome...Congratulationd...❤🎉🎉😊
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I know. Thanks for recording it. 😍😍😍😍
Absolutely gorgeous. It's been a while since I've played this.
Your recording was gorgeous, as well.
Oh, this is so beautiful, thanks for posting this, I can play, so I'm going to learn this, definitely.

Utterly gorgeous!
Expressive performance! Thanks for posting!
Wow, I hear so much Mendelssohn in the accompaniment!
Mendelssohn never wrote anything as beautiful as this piece. And I love Mendelssohn.
Beautiful and expressive playing!
Très bon pour mon coeur. Merci pour ce partage.
Faure....what a beautiful piece you composed!
Beautiful piece 🙂🌺🎵

Très belle interprétation!
Absolutely superb! Thanks for posting
Absolutely stunning! 😍
Grazie Gamma per il video di Faure
Really really good playing! sounds dreamy
Very beautiful, will learn it too 🎶🥰👏
The last part is so clever. The piece is often played a bit faster, but sounds good as you play it.
Une grande douceur
Merci ❤

I am in love❤
👏👏👏❤️
I love your performance!
Sounds like Mendelssohn
It does, maybe a little more straightforward
Sounds like Fauré
Que delicadeza ...
Gracias
@@michaelcooper3633Mendelssohn never wrote anything this beautiful. And I love Mendelssohn.
Just downloaded it :), tnx again!
Precious.
Gorgeous!!
Hermosa pieza!
So beautiful❤
Loving it...❤️💘❤️
Only ❤
This a beautiful and relaxing piece, I might consider learning it. -- I'm not too familiar with many of his works at all.
So beautiful! I think your tempo is very nice for this piece. Also your phrasing and which notes you give weight in the left hand sounds just right.
Nice.
That's a pretty one!
Fantasy on “Red River Valley”.
Spent a long time on fingering this and then found this! Nice tempo
Very pretty one.
Do you have all these songs you play on a Spotify channel that I can follow? Amazing work dude🙏
you played it really good
❤❤
Suspiciously like Mendelssohn.
Again, beautifully played!❤ where can I get a copy of this piece, please???❤❤
👌

4th bar from the end is so sad!
who is the pianist here? thank you for posting this exquisite music...Faure is my favorite of the French composers,
Beautiful piece, and a very nice interpretation. Who is the pianist in the recording?
Who's the pianist here? By far one of the better versions I've heard, others are just too fast for me
Thanks! I play all videos on the channel. I have a name but.. I'm just "random" person who likes music
Nice! Who Plays
Thank you for your playing.
💗🌹🌷🌻🍀👍🔆✌️
reminds me of elgar
Can you give me the sheet?
Who is playing? it's really good i think!
Im playing all pieces on the channel. Thanks!
Why do I love faure more than Chopin ?
Matter of taste, I guess.
I can't answer that but I absolutely agree with you!
Maybe for its simplicity. Don't have have a ridiculously difficult music for it to sound lovely.
Linda!👏👏👏👏
Fauré is always subtle and understated; lyrical with klass.
Where may one purchase this exact sheet music?
It does sound like a Kevin Kern composition at times.
My notes differ from what you're playing: did you add the note on octave lower in the left hand?
i sometimes change what is written in the score, but it is rare
An amateur pianist ??? You must be kidding , or you have an amaaaazing teacher and you practise a lot !!! PS Apart from being very gifted of course.
Love Malher❤
No the best piece by Gabriel Fauré I would say. Don't get crazy on the comments, but it's not a masterpiece as I can read.
Could be a soundtrack for Rafaello advertisement
