  • Keithley’s new DMM6500 is an exciting new entry to the world of 6-½ digit multimeters. In this video, we will go over a comparison between the DMM6500 and the Keysight 34461A. The measurement functions between the instruments are mostly the same, with available ranges being the biggest difference. The DMM6500 features a Digitizer function allows you to digitize voltage or current at up to 1MHz across the full range of the instrument. Visit tek.com/dmm6500 for more information.

o-my. great video. we have agilent and keysight units and they work well. 🥳 however, the keiithey is impressive 🧐we had one of the 1st keithley rms bench meters years ago. sweet. 😊

I have that meter and it is awesome! I love the optional digitizing card. I use that to record temperatures on high power (300W) resistors. The best thing Tektronix did was buy Keithley. Tek Scopes used to be the industry standard now Keysight scopes are the best and a close second or maybe a tie is Rohde & Schwarz. If you want a source meter or a multimeter Keithley is the "fo'shnizzle"

yes you display 1uR resolution but you have accuracy of the range to ±200uR. So, what is the point?

Interesting, datasheet says resolution is 100 pA, but seems to be 10 pA. This is real or calculated?

You focused on the only 2 specs 6500 is better, but I wonder when someone will need to know 1 micro ohm ? There are other instruments for such precision and much more accuracy. 6500 can measure up to 100 MOhm, while Keysight can up to 1GOhm, which is more useful in real-world electronics.

I have this meter and love it, but disappointed there was no free KickStart (and it’s expensive - I think $400 per year or $1,000 for a perpetual license).

Excellent product. This multimeter (or another one) have a Wattmeter? Can I measure Volts and Amps at the same time?

Really nice meter, but YOU RUINED IT with AC 10A acurracy which is much worse than Agilent/Keysight 34461A. Thanks for nice low resistance measurements, users can build their own shunt.

Keysight BenchVue has much better DMM software for the Keysight 34461A !

Oh, this display of numbers after the decimal point. How childish. Since measurement errors are still 2 rows to the left. Do you really think that someone who is thinking about buying a really expensive meter will be seduced by such a trivial manipulation?

Your DMM may perhaps be better and your may be speaking the truth. But it do never look good when a manufacture feels it is necessary to criticize the competitor's work to highlight his own. Is your DMM selling less because the other DMM is in fact more popular, is that why you have to bash the competing DMM? You know that if Keysight did the same, it would be there DMM on top.
It do only make one think, okay and where is your DMM less great then the other model ands do you have problem selling!

Nothing wrong with comparing a product, yes comparing may lead to critique and what is wrong with that? Nothing!

@@outsideworld76 Nothing wrong if it was not done thousands of times where it always happens that the brand who does the comparison also, surprise, wins. It does newer look good when you know that it is bias and only talks about what are better.
If you had switched around, would it have been the other brand winning. It is only marketing by stepping on an other. They forget to talk about the software stability and other things, because they know that they have / had some problems there.
A fair comparison is perfect, but this is in no way fair.

@@outsideworld76 My point is that it does never a good idea to talk bad about your competition, it will always go back to you. If there product is so much better, then why not let real users tell it? Yes everything is allowed in war (not true but anyway) but if you try to win by backstabbing your class mates, I think that the teacher will have serious doubt about your truthfulness! :-)
