- Let's face it folks, our beloved Harold Ramis is no longer with us. That means we lost a legendary actor, writer, director and a great human being. This also means that there will never be a true Ghostbusters III movie unfortunately.
The 2009 video game "Ghostbusters" was the last project that brought together the original Ghostbusters cast resulting in a truly spectacular creation. This incredible video game is the closest thing we will ever have to a true third Ghostbusters film and is a masterpiece to behold.
What I have done here for your viewing pleasure is put together a compilation of cut scenes and gameplay from the game to collaborate the story line into a feature length movie that I simply call "Ghostbusters III" and I think it turned out pretty darn well. All video was recorded on a high end PC at max settings and enhanced with video editing at full blu-ray quality.
This took me a LONG time to put this together folks so I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

While others are out seeing the 2016 movie in theaters, I'm gonna stay home and watch Ghostbusters 1, 2, and then play this.
+tvmattkc Its funny how (on the odd occasion ) we learn to appreciate things that are great even more, as we try too better them (or ruin them). The first movie and this game will be cherished and respected even more on my shelf (not that I didn't appreciate them enough already).

I like the idea of making it a CGI film but they'd need to tweak the script a little and improve the pacing. After all, movies have different requirements than games.
better yet, shoot this live action then deepfake the faces to a younger original crew face mapping AI, the tech is getting there.

Thankfully the 3rd movie exsist in this form, all the voices are back, it feeps new and even scary at times, fun humour, ITS THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS.
This is SO Ghostbusters III. It has that feel to it. I love this game.

Good joke, really good one. The film was a absolute desaster. Bad Story, Bad Acting, bad music (i mean really bad!) Blue ghosts that dont even look as good as the 30year old ghostbusters 1 and 2 ghosts. So what bullshit would you like to spread to the people? And the ghost from the ghostbusters logo is the final boss. WOW what a Story, maybe written by an 12 year old...

Man, I was so excited for this game and when I realized it was actually the original actors, INCLUDING Bill Murray, reprising their roles, I was FLIPPING OUT.

dan and harold wrote the story for this game, its been confirmed by dan that this is indeed ghostbusters 3 and that the plan in the third film was for dana to be the next ghostbuster , i think sigourney was busy with scheduling conflicts so she couldnt return so they just gave that part to the rookie....and hes also canon...

This IS the true Ghostbusters 3, not the disappointing of a movie known as Ghostbusters (2016).
Thanks for putting this together! :) I waited for years for a true sequel but looks like that is never going to happen now. I wasn't really aware of the videogame and this is the first time I've seen it. The script and voices here are excellent! It would be great if one day someone took these recordings and made it into a REAL movie, I mean with realistic CGI, a real score, real cinematic direction, and made the "player" into a fully-formed character with dialogue etc. It could even be a live-action film with CGI versions of the Ghostbusters! But until then, this will have to do, thanks :)

Well now! I went to see the new Ghostbusters movie, and it is freaking awesome! Egon’s granddaughter Phoebe is amazing! Y’all should go see Ghostbusters afterlife! This still should be the third installment of Ghostbusters, with Afterlife being the finish to it all (at least the guys’ storyline).

The only complaint I had about this game, was that it didn't allow you to drive the Ecto-1 around the city.
That should be a feature if they made a sequel to this game

some of this i dont think would of translated well in film. but the game really did the Ghostbusters justice which we really cant say about alot of games based off of movies.
They should take the audio of this game and remaster the animation for a VR game!! Imagine placing yourself in the Ghostbuster's world rushing along side with Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston really feeling the power of the proton pack on your back and in your hands as you trap a ghost. Each of the men telling you to be on alert and watching their six as they move forward and not to fall behind. That would be awesome! It would be like you're really working with them and saving the city when you're really just staying in one place.

I like that they got Bill Murray's brother, Brian Doyle Murray, to voice the mayor.

+MIke Putz It's because the original Ghostbusters was not meant to have sequels. In fact Bill Murray hated Ghostbusters 2 and never wanted to do another, because he thought the first film didn't need a sequel. And I share that sympathy.

If this had been made into an actual film with a aimilar animation style that was used for the 2006 computer-animated haunted house film "Monster House" and was directed by Gil Kenan who directed Monster House and the 2023 Ghostbusters film, I would've enjoyed watching it myself.
The good part is - in a few years, they will be able to make a real Ghostbusters 3 movie, with all the original actors, digitally remade into flawless, smooth realism, the voices, the screen - everything will be turned into the same quality as if you were watching Ghostbusters 1. It's great that we had the voices and the screenplay of this game - it will become something amazing in the future.
omg this game actually looks great! i remember a few years ago when it came out i looked up some reviews and most said it was shit and the rest said its kind of ok, i dont think any of them said the game is the official ghistbusters 3 either - i suppose its my own fault for believing what the mainstream reviewers say. at least these days we know better.

So glad I watched this instead of femnazibusters. This would have made an excellent addition as GB 3 if it was made as a film. Of course being a long play game the format reflects that but, it isn't hard to imagine it as GB 3 with a little adaptation.

I remember playing this game, beat it 3 times, one for the blind play through, the other for the collectables (best collectables in a game) and then on the hardest difficulty, didn't bother with platinum trophy, I got my money's worth and I'm not touching the abomination that is Ghostbusters 2016 and its demonic deformity of a video game that will be released

THIS is the 3rd REAL movie.
The Ilyssa character was probably originally going to be Dana. Sigourney's agent was asked if she'd be interested in the game, but the agent never even told her it was happening. She found out after it was finished, and basically said "If I had known they wanted me back, I would have been on board!" Instead, they replaced Peter's love interest with the Ilyssa character, but tweaked her so that the story could advance faster.

This is the true final installment of the Ghostbusters franchise. If only this script made it to film. Thank you gamestersstuff for putting the game footage into movie format. A must see for any ghostbuster fan. As a bonus, Harold Ramis gives us one of the greatest Ghostbuster lines ever. " We eat gods for breakfast !" Rest in peace Harold.
+Tymeless As a side note, we can't criticize GB3-2016 until it is released. It has the endorsement of Bill Murray, who is well known for his resistance to another sequel. But, as trailers and teasers begin to be released, we can at least speculate on the movie. I just hope they keep enough science in the movie to keep it with the true GB form. I saw pictures of Ecto-1 and they definitely screwed it up. They used a 1984 Fleetwood Caddy Hearse, a bit of a variation from the '59 Caddy Ambulance that has become one of the most iconic movie cars ever. A yellow beacon on the front and sides, with a blue beacon on the back, I wonder why not stay with the original all blue? They kept the original siren though. The worst offence, Chrome trim cutting the No-No in half ! An absolute insult to the most recognizable Logo in Film. And if the reasoning for this is to keep up the appearance of the Caddy, then why did Paul replace they hood ornament with his own little ghost figure?
It's endorsed by Murray because they quite literally blackmailed him into being in the movie.

This was great! It had that witty humour in the cut scenes that makes the Ghostbusters awesome. "Mr Mayor you were the victim of a trans-dimensional possession." "Did my approval rating go up?" "Well sir, you were re-elected." It's great phrases and comedy like that, that makes this awesome!
And no one said "That's gonna leave a mark!" Wah-wah-wah-sigh.
I wish this video was on fanbase DVD this would be a great Sequel Amen.
