    Thank you for another great tutorial and actions. You're a great teacher. I'm still concerned about the area of removed blemishes. Its blurry parts stand out especially when you duplicated High Frequency layer to add sharpness. Would a different tool for removing blemishes be a better option? You mention Patch Tool and I remember you once used Healing Brush Tool.

    Hello, sir. Long-time follower and observer. First comment. This approach to frequency separation-using a blank layer, eye dropper, and paint brush-appears to yield better results than the mixer brush. Do you agree? Do you still use the mixer brush for blending uneven patches? Thank you.

    QUESTION: How would you go about changing the ethnicity of someone in a photograph?
    I regularly get this scenario when I choose a stock image and the client wants more diversity in the image.

    • @catb6583
      @catb6583 4 місяці тому

      It is not a good idea to change the ethnicity of a person in an image with photoshop, just like, ethically speaking. (you shouldn't photoshop a white person to be black, or a black person to be white, or any one race or ethnicity into another etc. Though they are stock images, they are real people still and it's just kind of weird and messed up to change their skin color and stuff. It's not the same as changing their hair or clothes.) Best option in my opinion is to composite in someone from another stock image to add in diversity if requested by a client.

    • @DonswatchingtheTube
      @DonswatchingtheTube 4 місяці тому

      @@catb6583 I'm not sure it's any different from changing them by cloning, liquifing, composite, ageing them, or turning them into fantasy figures. It seems a bit arbitrary to single out race. 😊
      It's a real scenario where you could ask why not have more socially mixed images in the original sessions.

    • @catb6583
      @catb6583 4 місяці тому

      @@DonswatchingtheTube I just don't think it's ethically sound to change someone's race in a photo. Race is singled out as it is more important than anything else you listed in terms of how it affects people. If a stock image model sees their images used to create fantasy scenarios or made old or made to look scarred etc. I'm sure they'd be fine with it, but if they saw a picture of them changed to be a different race, you should be able to understand why that would be upsetting. If it wouldn't be ethical to have a model wear makeup to change their race, I don't see how it's ethical to essentially do the same thing with photoshop. But hey, you do you, I'm not your dad and I have no moral obligation to stop you from creating whatever the hell you want xD (I don't have a problem with people doing The MostTM with photoshop, I just worry when professionalism is brought up. You don't want to be known as "the guy that did blackface on a white model in photoshop" when seeking potential clients- or at least I wouldn't want to be)

    • @DonswatchingtheTube
      @DonswatchingtheTube 4 місяці тому +1

      @@catb6583 Interesting, I'm aware of the points you're making. No worries. It's interesting when I looked at how both Leonardo and Adobe Firefly composed images, I could see the ethnic mix of the composed images.

    • @marionascimento450
      @marionascimento450 4 місяці тому

      @@catb6583 Why would it be upsetting? Why is it negative to be represented in another race? All races are equally valued and it is a characteristic much like the structure of your face, your hair, clothes, position, material, robotic arms or fictional upgrades, etc. Kinda like changing gender or age. So if it's okay to create fictional characters and change all aspects of the person, why would it be any different with race? I certainly wouldn't mind.
