Superb. The subtle differences worked wonders on a photo that I didn't think the blemishes were particularly noticeable on. Skin is all blended nicely now and still looks natural. Now I just need to remember the steps for the future!
Another great video. You always make everything seem so simple and doable yet your results always look so high end. Love to watch and you’ve taught me almost everything I know about PS!
This is very helpful. I'm glad I watched this video and posted another way we can retouch skin. This is very helpful for me, because I've been looking for a new way to retouch because of the bug on Photoshop with its mixer brush. Thanks Unmesh
Do you have a video on how you are using your drawing tablet with photoshop? I find it so hard to use the pen to click like a mouse and drag stuff around. Tips and tricks on how you zoom in and out and pan around with the pen too. Please please please. I love your contents! You explain everything so well!
He makes it look so easy, (fixing skin tones)but it takes practice to get the tones right, sampling the right parts etc..great tutorials though, i have them bookmarked for my learning
for the navigator at 6:48, there's a better option to do which is to go to window - arrange - new window for "FileName" then use the 2up-vertical option from arrange. It will give you better view.
Thank you for another great tutorial and actions. You're a great teacher. I'm still concerned about the area of removed blemishes. Its blurry parts stand out especially when you duplicated High Frequency layer to add sharpness. Would a different tool for removing blemishes be a better option? You mention Patch Tool and I remember you once used Healing Brush Tool.
Peace and thank you for your eminence contribution to free knowledge. I wonder if you could provide me some tips for using the blemish check action for dark skin? Thank you!
Hello, sir. Long-time follower and observer. First comment. This approach to frequency separation-using a blank layer, eye dropper, and paint brush-appears to yield better results than the mixer brush. Do you agree? Do you still use the mixer brush for blending uneven patches? Thank you.
Thank you for this video!! I would love to know how to edit older persons skin so as to give them a clearer look without making them look like teenagers. Please do a video on that!! Embracing wrinkles. And even tattoos.
Amazing explanation!! Could not being more detailed and simple... Btw, i downloaded the Actions but didnt open as the format is not the correct, how do i solve this? I downloaded a .exe and it ask me for a .atn? Really appreciate it if you could tell me thanks :) Great videos you have a new subscriber...
for me, its all working good untill @13:17 . I have same brush settings and everything, yet when I "paint" over the subejt. nothing happens, the black box in the left dosnt show the painted area. any ide what is going on?
🎯 Key points for quick navigation: Learn a simple three-step process to retouch skin in Photoshop, covering blemish removal, frequency separation, skin tones, and sharpening. Use a black and white adjustment layer to spot blemishes easily before removal. Utilize tools like the remove tool, spot healing brush, or patch tool for blemish removal. Frequency separation technique allows for control over texture and color separately. Utilize actions for frequency separation and adjust layers for more control. Use gradient maps to even out skin tones by sampling colors and adjusting blend modes. Remember to adjust opacity for more natural results in retouching processes. Use sharpening techniques within frequency separation for detailed skin enhancement. Experiment with different retouching methods like manual techniques and plugins for time efficiency. Ensure a smooth workflow by adjusting opacity levels and feathering masks for a natural look. Made with HARPA AI
I watched a tutorial where the retoucher applied dodging and burning to the low frequency layer after retouching with the mixing brush. Thoughts on this order or workflow?
Could you please reupload the frequency separation action you had up on your old site? You had it up on a video from 5 months ago but the site is down.
I shoot street style photography and when I zoom in to try and get closer to the models face it pixilates heavily... could I only achieve that much zoom with camera raw or am I doing something wrong ? Thanks in advance
@piximperfect how do i actually get the color to come back on the layer without having to turn off the action layer. For some reason, when i turn off the blemish check layer, the image stays b&w instead of going back to color with all my work I just did. Any ideas?
it appears the action you made keeps making the image b&w and no matter what i do I cant get the color to show through from the original imageit just stays black and white until i turn off the HF action layer

Unmesh is the BEST !!!
Is there ever a reason to edit the high frequency layer? For example, what would you recommend doing in order to remove wrinkles from the skin?
Good video
