I don't get it. If they won the war, why did the whole civ die off?
It didn't, humanity felt guilty for dragging primitive civilizations into the war and dust after winning left the Andromeda Galaxy , leaving tech behind and the primitive civilizations to form their own fates
I would love to know the rest of the story. I love these stories but I want to know if the Andromeda races ever found the "Old Gods"

My favorite
The writer portrays centuries as if they were long periods of time. Yet the Earth is thought to be 4.5 billion years old, or 4.5 eons. The universe itself is thought to be 13-some billions of years old, though it may be twice that. Writing in terms of centuries is just plain rediculous.
