The beautiful names of Allah (sheikh Yasir Qadhi)
    *Al Kareem* and *Al Akram*
Al Karrem occurs 2 or 3 times in the Quran: th Quran is recited in 10 authentic qira2at (recitations) and in some qira2at, Al Kareem occurs as a name of Allah, while in others, it occurs as a description of the throne of Allah
    The third time:
This is our reading of the Quran (the 7afs reading). In this recitation, there is a kasra at the end so here, Al Kareem is a description of al 3arsh. There are other recitations of the Quran where there is a dammah ضمة at the end, so Al Kareem becomes a description of Allah
Imam Al Ghazali explains: Karam is to be generous while you are kind, before being asked, and to be gentle to anyone who asks even the most precious thing from you like food.
    _Meanings of Al Kareem:_
1)🔸Al Kareem is the One who is extremely generous. He gives without reason and without being asked. He gives to everyone, the rightous and the disbeliever.
Which means that wealth, for example, is not a sign that Allah is pleased with you. The only thing that signifies Allah's pleasure is when He gives Taqwa.
2)🔸 The One who gifts us with blessings, and when we use them and thank Him for them, He praises us.
Al Juneyd al baghdadi cried when he heard someone recite an ayah about prophet Ayyub
When asked: why are you crying?
Al Juneyd said: How can u not be amazed? Allah is the One who gave Ayyub patience, and when he was patient, Allah accepted that patience from Ayyub and then praised him for it (نعم العبد)
3)🔸Al Kareem also indicates Magnificence. The Arabs considered the most generous of them to be the most Noble and respected in society.
Allah calls His عرش Kareem because the عرش is magestic:
The Quran is also described as Kareem because it is genenous: it gives you purpose of life and Iman. And it is a magnificient book
    4) 🔸 Allah is Al Kareem to the level that He loves to be asked of His generosity. In fact, Allah will become angry if He is not asked. And this is unparalleled in the creation.
Our prophet said: when you ask Allah, ask more than what you had in mind:
When you ask for Jannah, ask for Al Firdaws:
You are asking Al Kareem, so don't cheapen your duaa.
🔹 *Al Akram*: Allah is the Most Generous.
Occurs only once in the Quran:
It is the *first name of Allah to be revealed* because this is a characteristic of Allah that even the disbelievers can't deny. Everything we have is from Allah so how can we deny His blessings. Allah has enveloped us in blessings, whether we see them or not:
🔺Allahs loves those who are generous:
Being generous is linked to Iman. It is a sign of Iman:
🔺A very beautiful verse to reflect on:
O mankind, what has caused you to be deceived about your Lord who is Al Kareem. How can you ignore the rights of your Lord: to worship only Him, when He is the One who gave you everything in this world.

"Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."
    Quran 59:10
