Love it, but the drum riff makes it significant to the period. I waited for it coming in the air and left deflated. So Phil Collins writes a song with some anger and just forgets about it and sleeps it off. Bravo. I expected something more intense.
I agree. I was very surprised the riff was absent. However, this dance version holds its own without it. I don’t think I’d have been disciplined enough to omit it, but one of the things that I most admire and enjoy about Dim’s music is the discipline to keep it simple and selecting/designing high quality sounds for mixing. Some of the best things in life are simple and when I return to mixing I will be using this artist’s examples. It’s been humbling and very exciting.
One of the most significant drum-fills in popular music history and THE 'musicule' for this song and it's left out of the remix: THE greatest opportunity for a drop I feel, but hey, it's a choice I guess.

from one point of view this is an other take of a classic , BUT without the drum solo where is the "I ve been waiting for THIS moment " moment of the song ? Still like it , but it's kind of hypnotic. Another take, where the solo would come and go in the background, should be there too...
