Brilliant job, I couldn't for the life of me understand where you were going with those incisions until you pulled it all together. Great bedside manner, too.
TY. I really love my patient interaction. I try to put my patients at ease. A mix of honesty and humour, blended for each patient.... but underneath I take the work seriously... (very)
That was great to watch. Can we get some follow up on this patient please ? Can you video the sutures out video ? I'm keen to see how the plantar surface will heal.
@@IanReillyPodsurgeon Nd YAG is an alternative option when there is minimal laxity in neighbouring soft tissue reservoirs needed for local flap reconstruction as in this challenging anatomical area. Looks like some tip necrosis of the primary lobe as under tension +. Also means the patient can walk normally and resume normal activities immediately!
@@IanReillyPodsurgeon yes sadly. I suspect the education sector of UA-cam will grow exponentially over the next 10 years and your videos will be very useful to a lot of people 👍
Question from a layman: Does the body compensate by producing additional skin so that the foot eventually has the same amount of skin and stretch as before?
Thank you for for sharing the procedure. If I may ask, could you explain how were you able to determine where to apply the anesthesia so quickly? (4:58 minute mark).
@@IanReillyPodsurgeon that is incredible! It amazes me what we are capable of through study, hard work, and repetition. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
@@IanReillyPodsurgeon thank you for the video I was confused my doctor explained that he will be doing this procedure on my foot and it was hard to find any footage the only ones were from toe bro and I don't know how I feel about having a hole full on antibiotic on my foot. NOw that I see how the procedure is done I'm more calm

Nice - I liked the rescue LA! I find it’s a nightmare when the original LA doesn’t quite take...
Very impressive!😮
Ty!!
Ian, this takes me back to USA Dermfoot this year when doc dockery was describing this flap technique, great to see it in "real life"!
He's my hero too!
Nice one Ian. Great stuff again as usual. Loving the evolution of the watermarks too 😎👍

yes. its called creep/stress relaxation. A core concept of skin mechanics and its visco-elasticity
