I feel like the interest in the Penguin show won't pick up until we have a trailer. Right now, most people who are not super fans might not even know about it, I feel like when we get a trailer, the hype will start to rise.
I am excited that The Batman filming is expected to start in Nov. I was surprised because I know Rob is filming the new Bong Joon-Ho film, Mickey 17, right now and I thought it would take longer. But based on an article I just read, looks like it’s expected to finish up first half of this year. “Mickey 17 has been filming in London since August 2022, and the team plans to wrap their filming in the first half of this year.” As for The Penguin series… I am super stoked. They are getting a host of talent to work on it so far. Can’t wait to see who else joins in.
DC fans are eating so good right now. I am beyond happy right now production begins November. Plus Cristin Milioti looks incredible as Sofia, she looks like a Sofia Falcone.
What’s up boba! I watched the Batman the other day, and when Gordon thought penguin was the rat, he mentioned that maroni practically lived at the iceberg lounge. I wonder if penguin ran with Maroni originally, but ended up with falcone after the drug bust. He was pretty pissed when he found out falcone was the rat.

A few thoughts - I wonder if Shohreh Aghdashloo was their dream casting for Nadia from the outset. The description seems very specific and she is certainly the first actress that comes to my mind when thinking about Iranian women in their 60s/70s. I wonder what the “must be NY local hire” indicates. It seems like the bigger roles can be from anywhere but some of the more minor characters have to be played by local actors. I wonder if this is a union thing, or if it is to accommodate flexible shooting schedules. Maybe they are planning their shooting schedules around the major actors’ availability because they might have to fly in to shoot their scenes. The supporting characters could basically be on call to shoot from day to day or week to week. Completely agree with you about a potential Oz/Sofia attraction of sorts. One way that costume designers indicate a character’s romantic availability is by having them show a little skin. Oz’s shirt being unbuttoned and showing off his chest and chest hair is visual shorthand to the audience for us to think of him as being someone who might be available in that way. Sofia, on the other hand, has her coat buttoned up and a scarf tied around her neck, indicating that she might not be receptive to any advances Oz might make, at least initially. However, she does have stockinged legs showing under her coat in a coy polka dot pattern, so that might indicate a tiny bit of flirtation there, even if she doesn’t overtly show any attraction.
It was only a matter of time before we saw sofia falcone within the 2nd batman movie which I am incredibly excited for and this penguin tv show is gonna be really important to the batverse
Hey Boba I love your series on possible villains in the Batman 2. Here’s my idea for Scarecrow and his fear toxin. Hopefully this could give u a good jumping off point for a video? A liquid based toxin that attacks the amygdala part of the brain; which simultaneously raises cortisol levels. Synapses rapidly firing to the amygdala causes a fight or flight response. The raised cortisol puts the victim into a state of fear, anxiety, and paranoia. The fear response leads to a release of adrenaline, which gives our victims an increased heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory rate. Laced with strong dosages of dimethyltryptamine or DMT, strong vivid hallucinations are brought on shortly after entering the bloodstream. When in combination with the rest of the of the toxin, the hallucinations are said to be horrific. Such a strong dose usually paralyzes the victim with fear for anywhere from 20-60 minutes. Overdoses of the toxin have left some victims with reoccurring visual hallucinations or even a “breakthrough” into a permanent state of hallucinogenic psychosis. A gas form of the toxin has also been used to attack victims, and although more convenient than a concentrated medical syringe, it does not appear to be as effective.

Still a bit disappointed Black Mask wasn’t announced for the Penguin series, always thought him and penguin are kinda similar in the sense that before Batman it was maroni and falcone, two regular mob bosses, then after Batman shows up and injects some theatricality into Gotham, maroni and falcone get replaced by Black Mask and penguin, still mob bosses, but with the added theatrics that make them true gotham city villains. Still holding out hope he could be included in future instalments.
Do you think the fact that they don`t seem to have any sort of green screen on location might mean that the flooding of Gotham might be already solved almost in its entirety, maybe only having the lowest points of the city still flooded, which would mean the don1t have to replace every background with a flooded Gotham, or maybe even fully solved by the time the show starts, a week later than the film?
Honestly, i hope The Batman Part 2 is a bit darker and sadder than the first. A bit similar to "Let Me In" although in The Batman there are things from that movie like when the Riddler catches Gil Colson in the car and the train going by, or Batman looking at Selina through his binoculars.

However, a new villain named Hush emerges and starts committing a series of high-profile heists across the city while also murdering people in the process. Meanwhile, The Penguin has become the new crime kingpin of Gotham, thanks to his connections and control over the city's underground. He is secretly working with Hush, using the heists as a cover for his own illegal activities. Harvey Dent, now the district attorney of Gotham, is working closely with Batman to bring down Hush and The Penguin. However, as the investigation progresses, Dent's personal life starts to unravel and his own dark past comes back to haunt him. At the same time, the Joker is still locked up in Arkham Asylum, but he's not sitting idly by. He's been manipulating events from the inside, using his connections to the city's criminal underworld to assist Hush and The Penguin in their schemes. As the stakes get higher, Batman realizes that he's facing a formidable team of villains who are working together to take him down. But just when he thinks he has a handle on the situation, the Joker manages to break out of Arkham, leaving chaos in his wake. The film ends with Batman realizing that the Hush and Penguin were just pawns in a much larger game orchestrated by the Court of Owls, a shadowy organization that has been controlling Gotham's fate for centuries. As Batman delves deeper into their world, he discovers that the Court's ultimate weapon is none other than Mr. Freeze, who will be the main villain of the next film.
What are your thoughts on black mask being a contender as crime boss in the reeves verse? We’ve only seen him briefly in birds of prey but I think he could create a good power struggle between him and penguin in the tv series or in future Batman movies that would be fun to see
I have no doubt the script for the penguin will be good. But i am wondering if they will use the same cinematographer and composer. Because it would be odd if it looked/sounded completely different from The Batman. But I also understand that it would be very expensive

Court of Owls would be PERFECT for the sequel but i will let director do its thing and use any villain he wants, i will not gonna get mental like some people over other villain being used, and i want to say that penguin show in the same universe wasn't making sense for me until i watched the movie and its now makes perfect sense for them to expanded on this villain
I feel like court of owls would almost be retreading the same ground as the first film though. Secret conspiracy amongst the elite that gets uncovered by Batman and co. Would be too samey imo. And tbh if the court of owls were out there I think the first film would’ve been the place to at least allude to them.
No…I don’t want to see the court of owls that’s the same as the 1st film corrupt family of Gotham…get mr freeze clayface the ventriloquist instead…the movie is going to be compared to The Dark Knight reeve has to knock this outta the park
