    Ma'am kindly reply ,My guery about some question because you closely observed the deity system and also participate that
    1 Could everyone enter the deity room except any caste and gender Or there are some rules.
    2 If not then, Is there is a different deity of a different caste in Kullu valley ?
    Is there such a hard-core rule of purity related with gender and caste
    Ma'am I want to find out the angle of how the deity works with gender and caste
    So kindly share your experience

      Hi Sheetal. In my experience there were mostly men in the tents. There were women as well in a few tents, which was being highly appreciated by people. As we were two females we only went inside one deity tent that too with our Himachali friend, who knew everybody in the tent. In that tent there were women as well and I did not really feel any gender related discrimination. We never had any caste related communication with anybody so I cannot comment on that.

      @@sheetaltomar99 not everyone can enter the area where the deity sits. Only a certain area is allowed without shoes. Only the people who reside in the area of that deity or their close relative. Certain rules are also to be followed like leather of every kind is not allowed, touching the chariot of the deity with dirty hands also forbidden. The items of God are not allowed to be touched by anyone only the Pujari or the gur(goor, the person in which the deity enters and talks with people)are allowed to touch them or pick them.

    • @Ishanthakur.09
      @Ishanthakur.09 Місяць тому

      @@sheetaltomar99 there is no restrictions based on gender but during the time period of a woman they are to not allowed to enter the area where religious practices are being performed. They can however watch from a certain distance. Women are allowed to lift the chariot of the deity on their shoulders if they are able to.

    • @Ishanthakur.09
      @Ishanthakur.09 Місяць тому

      @@sheetaltomar99 there is discrimination based on caste like the people who are considered lower in caste are not allowed to touch the chariot of the deity(mostly performed in the region of manali and surrounding area). However there is no discrimination in the area where Mahadev resides. My own deity is Mahadev(Juani Mahadev) and there is no discrimination even is you are non hindu, you are welcomed even to lift the chariot of the deity. The people who are considered lower in caste play the musical instruments of the deity which move first and then behind them is the chariot of deity. And also all of these rules except that of gender are not followed by Mahadev they consider everyone equal.

      @@sheetaltomar99 and if you want to lift the deity you need to cover your head with either pahadi topi aur any other cap for men and for women scarf is required or duppata.
