    What is an Everyday Carry Backpack? It’s that one bag you can throw your items into and head out for the day-whether you’re commuting to work, exploring the city, or venturing into the great outdoors. It shouldn’t need to be too big, but it does need to have enough room to carry the gear you need with you on a daily basis. The backpacks in this video range from 13 to 28 liters, which should cover most peoples use cases.

    I always thought Topo's bright yellow interior for contrast was a bit of a gimmick. Until I used a large top loader that was just black. Now I wish every bag manufacturer would take a page from Topo's book.

    Haven't bought it but I'm digging the Osprey arcane large day from a tonne of research the past week or so.
    Pros: Hidden, sleek water bottle pocket. Nice amount of organisation. Comfortable harness and unique ventilation system. Minimal, light and beautifully designed!
    Cons: Key chain location is not the most convenient. J-zip may take time to get used to.
    I'm about sold on it if it weren't for the many other great bags to consider.

    Hey Tom,
    Been a while since I committed. It's been a crazy time for the past few months. This is not a criticism because I get why you only covered bags available via the videos sponsor but I'd love a follow up video on the exact same topic but with a broader selection. Missing packs like the ArkType and various others doesn't really give a full view of the best available everyday packs.
    Other than that great content as always. Oh a d I'm looking forward to picking up one of your co-branded hoodies. I'm so happy it comes in xs even though the vendor is one of the most expensive in the space. I figure the quality will be there and I like the touched you added so it'll be worth it.
    Cheers,
    Christopher

    Great videos, I have bought many things because of your reviews, thank you.... I travel to 3rd world countries and in pic pocket areas and have bought a pacsafe sling which I love. I am now looking at the Venturesafe 28L G3 to actually carry stuff... I want to be able to lock valuables in it and lock it to something in the room just to deter a dishonest maid or whatever. Could you please do a review of this G3 and or other pic pocket bags and talk about keeping things safe please? Keep up the great work!

    I just need a boring old backpack that stands up on its own and has one (1) XXL compartment to stack 3-4 various Tupperware like boxes in and a secondary compartment for other items. Fourth caveat is it must have a few external easy access pouches, the mesh water bottle holders count as long as they’re not tiny.

    You obviously haven’t tested the durability where the straps connect to body. The north face and fjallraven rip if pulled away from body. This is a major issues with all north face bags. This is minor with fjallraven due to most of their stuff being durable.

    I've used the Mystery Ranch 21 for a year now and overall is a really well made pack. However, I find it very heavy compared to other 21L backpacks. Also, the tri-zip design probably is not the best choice for this size of bag. Most of the time I have to open all zips to access my stuff because the 'lid' is too narrow. So basically what in other packs would have been a quick gesture on this pack requires a more complicated (and closing) action.

    I have been watching a bunch of videos and I still can't find a backpack to meet my needs. I really want a side loading laptop compartment. This seems to be surprisingly rare. I just want to get my laptop out quickly. I want a good looking bag with some water resistance as I live in the Pacific Northwest. Just need enough room for my lunch and a couple of other EDC items. I need to replace my current bag which is disintegrating. It's a difficult search. There are so many options on the market.

    What's a false bottom? 11:07

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  3 роки тому +1

      Hey René, a false bottom is where the laptop sleeve or compartment ends before the bottom of the backpack. Basically, it suspends your laptop off the bottom of the bag. This means that if your pack hits the ground abruptly, your laptop won’t smack the ground as well. This is a huge plus and goes a long way in protecting your laptop.
