Parliamentary sovereignty is a principle of the UK constitution. It makes Parliament the supreme legal authority in the UK, which can create or end any law. Since some laws are quoted from the UK supreme court to determine important cases in Ghana, I thought of sending this through.

Professor gyampo is right. Sovereignty belongs to the people but excercised through their representations in parliament.

What was the judgement for the people of Saal( apologies ) if I spelt it wrongly? This same lady- the CJ was on the panel but now why the change of the legal opinion. We must remember a crime has no expiry date so those bending the rules MUST be aware.

If you don’t understand the ruling let me explain simply : someone can join NPP just to win the seat in a constituency get into parliament and then switch to join their original Party PPP. This sets a bad precedence. Electorate are going to be played with as their interest for voting for a particular person are no longer protected by the deterrent of switching camps. ( I’m not a supporter of any party just a neutral observer )

Know that it not the court that writes our laws but the legislature. The court are designated the authority to interpret but interpretation by a more moral group requires of the SC to know the origins and context of what it is they are interpreting.

You bastardized and destroy the Court and follow these politicians in parliament doing ndc and npp business. When the court collapses, there you will know its importance. Perhaps, your family heads will resolve.your cases. YOU CAN DISAGREE WITH COURT DECISION BUT RESPECT IT AND OBEY. Speaker’s decision to adjourn parliament is simply disrespecting the Court Order. This banter is unwarranted. We must behave maturely and reasonably because all disputes will be resolved in Court. The Supreme Court of Ghana must be respected at all times no matter their favorable/unfavorable decisions.

Prof Kwaku Asare is an accountant not a lawyer. This anti Npp Kwaku Asare should not be accorded any attention as a top lawyer. Lawyer Kpebu, you support the Ndc which is right as your right. These partisan politicians lawyers are not helping our country

Is NDC or NPP in court.
Kpebu control yourself. You are staging much ado about nothing.

Read the 1992 Constitution well. Articles 117 and 118 give immunity and privileges to the Speaker of Parliament, MPs and Clerks of Parliament on their way to or coming from Parliament and when they are doing Parliamentary Business.

It very unfortunate that you decided to attack when you didn’t have any evidence that what he is saying is false. In the US state judges are elected and not appointed. In Switzerland some cantons elect judges through popular vote. In Japan, judges after being appointed face retention vote in the next general elections where citizens can vote to retain or dismiss them. Bolivia in 2011 introduced judicial elections where citizens directly vote for judges to the highest courts including the Supreme Court, Constitutional Court and other high judicial bodies…etc. Professor Gyampo started saying this long ago. If he was lying do you think the NPP doesn’t political science professionals who could have come out to say he is lying? Now between you and Prof Gyampo who should be ashamed of himself???😂😂😂
