i hope they dont nerf this into the ground, preferably they would increase the ether cost of fire gun so you cant use it infinitely instead of completely nerfing it into the trash, because fire gun is currently the m1 meta of pve builds for mages
The mantra buffs in PVE were a MAJOR improvement to the game overall. Every PVE build was just M1 everything to death and maybe use an attunement for one of the passive damage ups. Why would anyone want to go back to that.

There were already mantra pve builds, they were just slightly difficult to build. I know aga showed one off, a wind mage build that was really good in pve. This update just made them kinda broken? Pve builds used m1s because they needed some survivability and thus couldn’t invest too heavily in mantras, but if the mantras give more survivability than you can invest in now literally the only viable thing is mage builds. This isn’t increasing variety in builds, just making it worse

You're seriously not making any good arguments as to why you think this is ruining build diversity, before this there was literally 1 single way to play PvE and now you can make multi-attunement builds that focus on good PvE mantras or M1 hybrid builds, the posibilities are a lot broader than simply "get all damage modifiers".

i think they made mantras this op for pve since a lot of pvp builds wouldn't be able to beat the tougher trials since they weren't optimized for pve, and so since they usuallyhave mantras they buffed those so that the trial isn't in the odds of the pve builds

Honestly with an optimized build for this you can probably destroy everything with just 100 flame and a few damage buffs. Will I even need to invest into my weapon stat when mantras deal so much damage. Especially with other high damage mantras from other attunements. My next build has to be 90int 100flame 25agi and 25charis 40wp. It probably will be pretty op despite how not optimized it is and how I thought of it in 10 secounds. There needs to be a build with enough dps to 1 cycle eithron.

While I do agree that maybe they need to dial back the damage buff mantras got, I also think that maybe you just need to change your PVE builds up instead of blaming the devs for making them outdated.
i was able to kill mecha sharkos while 1% and stuck between 2 gates with mecha sharkos on either side in saramaed summit back when layer 2 dropped, this mantra holds a place in my heart.
With Elden Ring, you can use summons or choose not to, and people still call that game hard. I can solo layer two without mantras, but for bad players, this could be an option.
im working on a shadowcast glasscannon pve build, gonna have a bunch of damage multipliers and stuff so that I can melt mobs with shadow gun and shadow roar and use eclipse kick and shadow seekers on chaser

if you have eruption path you can stun lock 90% of the mobs in the game except i think bounder and owl (didnt test on squibbo yet nor enforcer)
Enforcer gets stunned by lava serpent for some reason, and squibbo dosent take damage from mantras
