asSalaam o 'alaykum wa ra'hmatullaah. It will be additionally benificial for the youtube listeners if the recording was done, not from the sound of the speakers, but a mic placed near the shaykh.
Lesson: 1 • This book is about the 3 questions that we will be asked about in our graves. • Tawheed is the first thing we begin with because it's the most important thing in our lives. • Allah Azzawajal has created us to make tawheed of Him. • Every ibadah in the Qur'an is tawheed (to single out Allah Azzawajal with our worship). • Why do we study tawheed? (1) Allah has created us to make tawheed to Him. (2) Without tawheed we don't enter Jannah (Just like when a person prays without Wudhu his salah is invalid, without tawheed his acts of worship are invalid). (3) There isn't any act of worship that is accepted by Allah Azzawajal except with two conditions : (a) Al Ikhlaas/ Sincerity : You only dedicate your worship to Allah alone. (b) Al Mutaba'ah/ Conformity : You follow the example of the Messenger ﷺ, you do as he ﷺ did. (4) It is a means and the reason for increasing of hasanaat. (5) It's a reason for the forgiveness of Allah Azzawajal and the expiation of sins. (6) It's a reason for tranquility. (7) It's a reason for guidance and stability in our lives. (8) It's a condition/ must for the Intercession of the prophet ﷺ and those who Allah Azzawajal allows to intercede. • Why do we seek Islaamic knowledge? (1) Because “Whosoever trades the path of knowledge (Islamic), Allah Azzawajal makes easy for him a path to Jannah.” (2) The bounty of seeking Islaamic knowledge is better than the bounty of acts of worship (voluntary). → Which one will you choose If you have time either for revising/ seeking ‘ilm or doing voluntary acts of worship? The answer is Seeking ‘ilm. • 3 Fundamental Principles are: (1) Who is your Rabb? (2) What is your religion? (3) Who is your prophet? • This book starts with 4 issues: (Proof for 4 issues: Surah Al-’Asr) (1) Islaamic knowledge → Knowing Allah, His prophet (ﷺ) and the religion of Islaam with evidences (not with opinions, not by saying of this person or that person) and the evidences are The Qur'an and the Sunnah. (2) Acting upon this knowledge (3) To call to it (4) Patience upon the harm while calling to it. → Imaam Ibn Uthaymeen Rahimahullah says: These 4 issues has encompassed all of the religion. • Why did the Shaykh (Rahimahullah) start with Bismillah ir Rahman ir Raheem (Basmalah)? (1) Taking example of the book of Allah and this is the way of the scholars. (2) To seek barakah/ aid from Allah Azzawajal. • Is there copying and mimicking in Aqeedah? → NO, therefore these questions you've to know with evidences and Allamah Saleh Ale ash Shaykh says “for you to be knowledgeable and not mimicking anymore is that even if once in your life you know these issues and the answers to these questions with their evidences”.] • Whenever the Shaykh Rahimahullah says “Know” it means to know 100% without a doubt. • This deen is built upon Mercy. • Action is the fruit of knowledge, action without knowing is likening to the Christians and knowledge without actions is likening to the Jews. • Dawah has conditions: (1) It has to be sincere only to Allah Azzawajal. (2) It is built upon Islaamic knowledge not upon ignorance. (3) Dawah needs wisdom and patience. (4) To know the condition of a person and giving dawah to him accordingly. (5) It has to be on the way of the Messenger ﷺ . • Allah Azzawajal has mentioned patience in more than 90 places in the Qur'an. • Ibn Qayyim Rahimahullah says that Sabr is upon three things: (1) Patience upon obedience to Allah Azzawajal. (2) Patience upon staying away from disobedience to Allah Azzawajal. (3) Patience upon the painful decrees of Allah Azzawajal. • Imaam Al Bukhari Rahimahullah said: “ Knowledge (Islaamic) before speaking or acting.”
