The guy starts out saying to a woman on earth, "We need you now... there is a 2 month waiting list for other candidates." Then, she is suddenly at the Mercury processing station flying solo in a small craft... she estimates "10 days since the crew disappeared". Bad science... bad understanding of orbital mechanics... you can't just go whenever you want, and it takes a LOT more than 10 days to plan a mission, execute, fly thru space, etc... it's not a mission for one person in a small craft. All of this could have been developed and presented better. Don't present science if you don't understand it.
Science police just showed up. How about in their world they have teleportation? Developed hyper speed travel? They obviously are doing something different since they have a manned craft in deep space, right? Just enjoy the movie, and stop. This is someones home made first crack at movie making, they probably wrote, directed filmed, etc, etc, and now you want them to go to science school on top of everything? Demanding much? and what are you giving them in return? oh yeah, absolutely nothing, but your bad attitude and negativity. What a jerk.
Or @ least flesh out the ideas, concepts & as many. Different possibilities of said missions. Bad scripts ruin stories & of bad logic, there’s just no excuse, It’s lazy.
We do attempt to address time delays w/ speed of light, witness all of the video communications. If we are to successfully traverse the solar system in the future, we will need more advanced propulsion systems, ion stream engines or some such. Today's propulsion systems are def not up to the task!
I loved the ending, it brought the whole ideal together of REAL astronauts vs. dickhead capitalist pigs in space. Futuristic and fun. Good watch. Well done (I had my suspicion from the first that the a.i. was on the blink, btw!).👍😀
Movie made in 2023. Producer, director, writers made big mistake of having this movie take place in 2047 and on Mercury. It just is not believable, even with the imagination ,due to its setting alone. They should have stuck to Earth or at least on our moon.
I believe scifi is all about expanding what we know today. Mercury has heavy nickel ore deposits; not much on the moon. Where there is a will, there is a way. Dark side of Mercury would protect a vessel and crew from the sun.
very enjoyable, great cast and crew and interesting story. but ...an hour and a half whodunnit/whatsit and you never tell us what the dang thing is? argh. Was that a sequel-dangle? or making philosophical point about how details of plot-drivers don't really matter?
Physics was not strong. You can't perpetually orbit the dark side of Mercury. And it is not tidally locked. The dark side will become the light side, in a few months. But I have seen worse. The weak stuff was using obvious anachronistic stuff like a laptop with USB, the water bottle, 5 gallon bucket. I can forgive crummy spacesuits, those are hard to do. Climbing in space could have been done better, and for no/minimal extra money. Also, fast chemical reactions add a lot of air pressure fast, and bad things are going to happen. The wrench is adequate by itself. Alternatively, 3D printing a bear trap, or a few, might be a nice way to bring him down initially.
Regarding anachronistic... I am reminded of the infamous Grass Valley video switcher, used in the original "Star Wars" to blow up the Death Star. Even famous movies rely on anachronistic props sometimes! ; )
@@trujillocreek77 Anachronistic props can be an ingenious way to save money, provided the audience is not extremely familiar with them, or there is some rational reason they might still be using them, or they are merged/truncated with things and put in orientations that make them harder to recognize. When the B-52 airplanes are finally retired, they will have been in operation 100 years, perhaps longer. But 6-8 years and a laptop is junk. I saw these really cool "Office Privacy Pod Phone Booth Call Rooms" in the Los Angeles Craig's List. They look fantastic for movie props. Pricey, maybe, but perhaps a rental for a couple weeks? Modern but obscure can easily work. Some things are timeless: tableware, some chairs, tables, paper clips, pens and doors. They may or may not be in realty, but only when you reach that future date can you really praise or mock. We may be mocked for things like there being people with receding hairlines or bald. Maybe they will just take a pill or have those genes changed. Maybe there will be no crocked teeth, no obesity. Who can say how things will really be? Sometimes filmmakers assume that because they are unfamiliar with something that the audience won't be either. What you want to look at beyond that intuition is just how many are made. The more there are, the more of your audience will have seen them. Upon seeing an IBC tote (a palletized liquids container) a filmmaker might think these look like great props for distant future/alien worlds. But, in realty, 3/4 of your audience will recognize them because there are many millions of these things. Modified in some way, perhaps, like cutting out 1/3 of it and covering it in aluminum tape. One thing that bothers me in many space-based science fiction movies is people with a lot of obvious sun damage, and very tan, being cast as lifelong space travelers. I think space travelers are going to have near perfect skin. Maybe even get mocked for burning fast when on a planet, or overly frightened of getting sun. After all, it is radiation.
So advanced civilisation using.. tissues on a station outer space, a spaceman in a spaceship using sticky paper postit for notes, space suit made without own light on helmet - a hand flashlight were used. Those details tell me the movie is a CRAP from the early first minutes of watching..
Made it to 28 mins and nothing really happens. Actors just seemed to be reciting their lines with no real chemistry between them. Got bored and moved onto another movie. Australian accented psychological profile computer was really annoying!
Never understand why, with all the mega technology, they always have some puny flashlight. If one is going into a situation like this, a floodlight would be more appropriate. almost all scifi movies do this. I suppose it's for the suspense but it's not very realistic and logically rather stupid.
also, weight factor: everything in space is the smallest and lightest possible unless theres an overwhelming reason to spend an extra quarter million dollars to ship up the deluxe version.
@@calvinhenderson4200 hey, crappy flashlights have come a long way! Today’s 3-6 volt LED light gives off a ton of lumens for a long time. They are compact and reliable. I highly recommend for all space exploration!

@@edition-deluxe Some people would appreciate receiving constructive criticism. If that hurts your feelings, call the Whaaaaammmbulance.
Or @ least flesh out the ideas, concepts & as many. Different possibilities of said missions. Bad scripts ruin stories & of bad logic, there’s just no excuse, It’s lazy.
Are you kidding with artificial intelligence they're going to be a lot more advanced than that
We do attempt to address time delays w/ speed of light, witness all of the video communications. If we are to successfully traverse the solar system in the future, we will need more advanced propulsion systems, ion stream engines or some such. Today's propulsion systems are def not up to the task!
56:10 Nice move.
Well we never went to the moon so science fiction fits the bill!!
It's set in a parallel universe so tech is accelerated there.
Relax, Boeing has this. Astronauts will get there by 2047. They just cant come back.
very enjoyable, great cast and crew and interesting story.
but ...an hour and a half whodunnit/whatsit and you never tell us what the dang thing is? argh.
Was that a sequel-dangle? or making philosophical point about how details of plot-drivers don't really matter?
lol a space craft with concrete floors and doors that look like they were bought at Home Depot.
Actually, you are quite prescient. Home Depot will sell space materials in the year 2047 when our movie is set. Nice catch!
@@trujillocreek77 "Home Depot will sell space materials in the year 2047 " lol excellent response
Lesson # 1, never be a company man.
Thank you for watching the movie. The “company man” message is definitely intended!
Thank you for watching the movie, and supporting independent filmmaking. I will take your feedback into consideration for future space projects!
Artistic license is a tool used since the invention of film, it does not have to be as realistic as reality to work imho.
Sorry it wasn't to your liking, but thank you for supporting independent filmmaking.
Most of it is little better than a cartoon.
far less cartoonish than Star Wars and the rest of Hollywood stuff
Jesus Christ is calling y'all. He won't reject anybody. Come to Him as You are. He's gonna transform your lives.❤❤❤
Enjoy your movie
Bravo.
Great.
The spanish translated subtitles sucks!
A brunette and a red head. Not bad. But spaghetti every day. Not sure. 😊
Never understand why, with all the mega technology, they always have some puny flashlight. If one is going into a situation like this, a floodlight would be more appropriate. almost all scifi movies do this. I suppose it's for the suspense but it's not very realistic and logically rather stupid.
It tends to look more interesting on camera. More of a psychological effect for the audience.
@@trujillocreek77 guess that's why it's called "fiction".
also, weight factor: everything in space is the smallest and lightest possible unless theres an overwhelming reason to spend an extra quarter million dollars to ship up the deluxe version.
No movie is complete without a crappy flashlight.
@@calvinhenderson4200 hey, crappy flashlights have come a long way! Today’s 3-6 volt LED light gives off a ton of lumens for a long time. They are compact and reliable. I highly recommend for all space exploration!
Yet another with the air of Myst
Myst... you're referring to the computer game? Love having that parallel, although we don't do as much gaming as we'd like here. The boss gets mad :(
@trujillocreek77 Would love a movie or series based on the MYST game or the novels, which were extremely good in they're own right!
@@BradfordGuy The books are top notch. Totally worth the read.
No soporto películas oscuras 😮. generalmente no las veo. Buena 😅
Gracias por ver esta película. Y por tus pensamientos.
there is a terrible smell.... she cannot smell anything because she is suited up....
They just had to throw some woke vomit in at 56:25.
I lasted for 25 minutes.
You should have kept going!!
Inside of space station looks like a college dorm
Yes, you are not far off. A dorm room in space... it is our commentary on how poorly some companies treat their employees ; )
ever seen where they sleep on current space stations? [or for that matter current ships on water?]
the bathrooms also mostly not much better than hers.
The people on Earth are wearing today's cloths where's the imagination?😂
Everything becomes retro eventually.
“In space, no one can hear you complain about the food”…
Low budget, small set, mediocre 2 person play. Sort of interesting.
This isn't sci fi
👍😊
