    I’m intending to do maths, further maths, geography and physics (I intend to go into physics afterwards - or physics + philosophy, which recommends an essay based subject as well as your standard physics and maths so geography works) and I desperately hope I don’t end up finding it too much work because getting it down even to four was verging on impossible haha.

      I think thats a great choice, and if it does get too much, drop the weakest subject, as uni’s look at your best 3 so don’t worry if it gets too much! Sounds very sensible though

    I am doing my GCSE exams now (2 more weeks to go) But I have picked geography as a gcse instead of history even though, later I realised that I want to do law at uni, so history was the better option at gcse. So now that I will start my A-levels after the summer, I have been advised by so many people to take A-level history in spite of not doing it as a GCSE. I don't know how to feel about it, is it going to be hard if I do pick it? I need advise 🙂 BTW I definitely will pick ENG LIT AND MATHS as A-level, I am contemplating whether to choose history or spanish

    • @brainstormmath
      @brainstormmath  Рік тому

      I would recommend honestly checking with universities (on websites) and seeing if they require history. If you enjoy history then go with it. The content will most probably be different areas compared to GCSE so I wouldn’t expect you’d be too far behind. Maybe ask a level teachers about the content and see what they think too.

    How many should I pick ? I really love stem based subjects and I want to quite a lot of a-level subjects maybe 5, not sure if that's a good idea since I've heard work load is immense, also heard someone took an extra year since they did quite a bit. Not sure since I love all the sciences and maths and I'm doing really well in them so far . I can't decide from which of the three sciences I would want to pick, I want to do maths and further maths , and computer science . Pretty lost at the moment, I wanted to go into bio med or mechanical engineering and if I ever chose to drop out I want there to be quite a fair amount of options to choose from as an alternative, mainly because I'm still lost as to what I want to really do lmao .

    • @brainstormmath

      I personally was in a similar position to you. I chose 4; maths, further maths, biology and physics. Its definitely alot of work and I personally wouldnt have wanted another on top.
      Definitely a smart idea to keep options open and any selection of STEM subjects will do exactly that!
      I would personally say choose 4 max, maths and further maths bounce off eachother to an extent which helps. And two of the sciences you enjoy the most for the other two!
      Hope this helps and good luck!

    I really want to do Spanish, the language really interests me and I’m predicted an 8 or 9 for gcse. But there’s so many native speakers raised with the language taking it so they’ll increase the grade boundaries :( I’m planning to do English lit and sociology too

    • @brainstormmath
      @brainstormmath  Рік тому +2

      I think the native speakers thing will be the case most years so it shoukdnt make the grade boundaries different to usual if that makes you feel better about it!

      @Georgina_d 2 місяці тому +2

      @@Natalia-jl4kj I never did Spanish in the end. Lit is really good, basically the same as gcse but you get open book in the exams so that’s perfect. There’s also lots more unseen texts, I like it but just as a heads up. As for Spanish only two people took it at school, my friend and a Spanish girl. My friend got an 8 at gcse and while she tries hard, she was one mark off a b in the mock, she says it’s way harder than gcse 😭 especially when the other girls there, getting A*s
      In my school anyway they’re really flexible with people changing subjects so take both classes along with your other subjects and after a month or so, drop the one you dislike, else just pick one and switch to the other if you don’t like it

    • @brainstormmath
      @brainstormmath  19 днів тому

      Physics would definitely help, however careers often look at grades rather than specifics aslong as you have maths/science.
