- Lakers should have never let Kentavious Caldwell-Pope go. Lakers Nation would love to have him back in the purple and gold but the Denver Nuggets have to make a decision. Nuggets were eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves and have some decision to make about the roster. Lakers News of KCP returning would be massive but would take him opting out.

He's taking the bag if any lower playoff team offers him one. As long as the team wants to compete and isn't down in dumps he will sign with em, and he's 31 so this is the best time to get that money. He can wait for an offer and if the money well dries up or if the Lakers use that exception he can just opt in for another run with Denver. He's got Options.

As a Denver fan, I would like that we keep KCP. He can easily opt in for 15 million next season. But I think he is looking for long term deal at something close to 3-4 years at 18-20 million. So he is not resigning with Lakers. He has his 2 rings, now is time for him to cash in. And there are teams that can offer him that... Orlando, Philadelphia, even OKC if they want some veteran presence.

Polinka and all of the other marquee franchise front offices will be star hunting this offseason, just like they normally do. Polinka does not care about the midlevel role players (he traded Caruso and KCP away for Westbrook).
KCP will likely test the market and if there's not a compelling offer (20+ mil/year), he most likely resigns in Denver. Dude loves playing with Joker (who wouldn't love playing with a pass first oriented guy who loves seeing his other teammates "get theirs").

Porter Jr is trash. Can’t hit big shots during big games. Has no go to moves. And at 6-10, he can’t guard a PF or center. And when switched onto a smaller guard, they go right by him. And he’s even worst for Denver cuz he’s so damn expensive. He’s the opposite of value given his performance/salary ratio.
