The detail of having the old man in the reflection is top notch
Damn thanks for pointing out

Also the hand that picked the coin
Twice! It's easy to miss but after he picks up the coin his reflection in the glass is of the old man.
And the old hand picking the coin up

Life really does pass you by if you don’t stop to enjoy it. It’s a culture of working yourself to death just to survive now for a lot of people. I’m 41 have had a lot of fun in my life and like Kurt cobain said “now I’m bored and old”.

We literally should live to at least 120 year, but because of the type of food, water, air and other things I won't mention, if we see 80 we're considered blessed
I wish humans didn't have to go through the cycle of life and just stopped aging at one point. I mean aging is meant to be a deterioration of your bodily features. Maybe there will be a future someday where humans solve that problem? Either way, I wish you long life and prosperity.

Take care of yourself and life will reward. My dad is in his 60s and still works his excavating job shoveling with my brother and I, hammering cement, and picking up logs and brick. Usually he’s in the excavator but when he hops down to help with the hand work you’d think him more fit than most 20-30 yr olds. That's actually so true and beautiful. No matter how much we age, we think of ourselves as that same self, we see ourselves as that.

I am working at a retirementhome as a nurse on a station with people who all have dementia and it seems like this is what they go through all the time... some of them being in their 90's saying "tomorrow i will visit my parents" and everytime i hear that i can't let them face reality and lie because it would be horrible to say "they are dead and you are 94 years old" or even ask them how old they think they are... sometimes one of them who can not stand up anymore says they want to go home just for me to reply with something like "i am sorry you are at the hospital and you can not stand up at the moment. We need to take care of you the next days" or something like that. Sometimes a nurse has to be very very creative the way they talk with elderly people and even more with from dementia suffering people. It can be hard to keep an illusion alive just so people do not have a worse time.

Excellent
Bro. I was trying to get out of the deep, and you come along and sink my battleship
It's crazy how people can mention things about a video that aren't even in the video 🤡
THE MIRROR REFLECTIONS WERE SUCH A GREAT TOUCH 😭😭
Edit: Also if you look closely, in every shot which isn't showing his face, is him shown as in his older self. Such as hands, body, shadow, picture.

i didnt even notice
Holy shit youre right thats quite awesome ngl
Those are windows, but yea it’s a great touch
Same thing while she is taking the photo, they put a lot of detail into this
This made me cry. My grandpa just turned 81 and the strongest, most able bodied man I know is starting to get tired and hurt in ways he never has
I'm only 19 yet this has me crying because it puts into perspective how my grandfather felt and how my father feels as he grows older...
That hit the feels..... Thanks for helping me understand what seniors experience
Live your life backwards, and there will be no surprises.
Truly, plan backwards from your own passing.
It's powerful :)

To answer though - it means to contemplate your future, by considering heavy questions like where you will most likely die, at what age, and what things will be like then.
Perhaps one makes it to 90. what is like life or you then, how many of your friends are also still alive. Are you lonely?
Work backwards, 80, 70, 60, etc. It is a thought experiment, and by modelling this, what changes would one make in their life given the odds of it happening?

The detailing! You really touched our hearts❤❤❤
Yeah and the hand when he picks up the coin.

Aging is not bad, it's a gift, a reminder that I have come a long way full of tears, joys, exciting memories.
the feeling when you missed your grandparents because of this short video, it's nostalgic that i can burst out crying remembering them😢
If only shorts were that deep in meanings, people would be better.

Time goes by a lot faster than we think. I lost 3 grandparents in a year, and each funeral was the last time I saw the next one. Time is precious, enjoy every moment you can get
That's heartbreaking ....hope you are doing well❤..RIP your grandparents 😢
Wait... 3?
@@nowonmetube 2 maternal grandparents and 1 paternal
This comment hurts somewhere deep😢
@nowonmetube Well, you have your mother's parents and your father's parents, then if they every had to remarry, you have step grandparents.
That's lovely, he feels young!
May you live long and always feel young 🌹
I miss my grandpa. He died a couple years ago and things have not been the same ever since. He was the glue held our family together.
I just lost my grandma a couple of weeks ago to dementia. She always got confused and talked about how she was a teenager and needed to get across the river so she could go into town and have some fun. She wasn’t really all there anymore but it was still a shock to lose someone so close and important to me. This video is beautiful and really touched me. Thank you, have a blessed day.
Rip grandma, may she rest in peace 🙏🏽
I just lost mine a couple days ago to the same thing. This hits pretty hard. I feel your pain.
Prayers with you guys 🙏🏼
She was thinking about her past and probably wanted to go back too. Insit with someone who has dementia and had a aunt who had it when inwas a kid. Neither one of them does that. It just makes me thinknshebwas closer to death than you realize when shebwas doing that. Old people tends to do that around that time. Or at least that is my experience. We had to take care of several older people in the family and that part seems to be very common.
May she rest in peace 🙏
His dads reflections in the windows is a amazing touch. What a good job. Love this family!
Wow i didnt catch that until now
And the photo on the phone!
Not only that! But when the sign is covering his face in that same scene you can see the white beard.
Agreed. You guys are starting to get pretty good at this thing. I don't usually scroll. But when I do. It's mcfarland feed.
Also when he picks up the coin, it's his dad's hand.
The reflections being the old man was a nice touch. This was amazingly deep
Even the details, how you could see the old man in the window to the coffee shop, and the view of the picture on the phone, truly amazing, and the plot even better
I'm 30 and I'm still 18 in my head. Wild and it'll only get wilder.
I just turned 32 and I still feel like a teenager even though I am not the same age my mother was when she had me (youngest of 5 kids). The new perspective is crazy. The age I am now, is the age my HS teachers were when they taught me, many of my old friends now how children...like how has all of this happened so fast!
We only start getting old at 30, so you're not any older than you were 10 years ago. That can be sooner or later though, based on how healthy you are. If you wanna stay young for longer, be healthy.
I feel ya, I turned 30 last November and honestly I still feel like I left high school a few months ago. I don’t feel like I’ve aged, more important my body doesn’t feel like it’s breaking down either. It actually feels like the opposite. Lately it’s been unreal, like I’ve been able to actually spread my wings and follow the path I’ve always wanted to. I’m just waiting on my background check to go thru and I’ll be doing what I’ve always felt like I should be.
My amazing Mum told me a couple years before she she passed away at the age of 90 , that she still felt the same as she did when she was 16, it was just her body letting her down. I'm 61 and I can relate perfectly. inside. I'm still a teenager, just my body is getting older.
You all are still so young, enjoy it while it lasts. Wait till you hit 40 then you'll really start to feel like an old person.
My dad passed away at 84 years old. It's been 3 years now and I still miss him everyday. ❤
RIP Dad. My best friend and confidant. Oh how you are missed and loved. If only I could have you back even for just a short time. I would love to show you smart phones and self driving cars. I remember rolling my eyes when you told me these things should be invented. Thank you to the producer of this video. We Americans should be ashamed at how horribly we treat our grandparents/elders. 😢❤
84 years, he did very good
My dad died at 84 years only a few months ago. It's hard.
@Skyesoceaneyes May he rest in peace
Mine passed at 47, me being 13 at the time, now 14. That was september 7th 2023. Actually i dont know the full date. Or why, or how... i'm underinformed.. (if thats even a word)
This actually made me ahead a tear 😢
Bro I actually feel really emotional now, words cannot describe it but it is just that I gained a new perspective
Lost my mom last year at 85. Just today I looked in the mirror and was reminded I'm not 20 years old any more. So this just hit pretty damn deep on me. I'm not crying, you're crying.
Damn, you lucky though. You can have mom until she at 85. I was 19 when i lost my mom, she was at 55.
edit: She got cancer at 50 and i was 14. I wish someone told me that someone who got cancer don't live longer than 5 years. I was concern about this while she got only one year left at my 18. I know there's nothing i can do. In her last 3 months, she spend day by day really suffer from bladder cancer. I accompany him in hospital everyday until that day come, when she never reply to my voice again..

Жизнь странная штука, я вообще не ощущаю себя взрослым. В детстве казалось быть взрослым это круто, а теперь понимаешь, что это скукота и каждый день - день сурка
@@eksboks148 That was so rude. There's no one-upping here. This isn't a situation where we're discussing who made the most of a summer vacation. The guy is just trying to help OP appreciate the time he spent with his mother. Grief is proportional to the memories you create with that person, not necessarily the time you spent or when they departed. All he did was call him lucky and shared his own experience, and now you're trying to make him feel bad for nothing :(
