Best one yet..great trails and views! Cow horns looked scary coming at you, very happy you didn't get poked. Love the hilly sections, a lot more interesting.
Yes. This is an amazing stage, and we had some memorable moments on it. We could probably never re-create those experiences, but something different will happen next time.
Ahhh! To get up so early that nothing is open yet. "First coffee" is always the best...with a cold tortilla. "Second coffee" was fun too....maybe something warm. Then whether to stop for lunch or wait until a little later and a protein snack. Y muchos gatos! And the area of this particular video was so bucolic....one of my favorites.
One of my favorite videos yet! You’re approach to challenges is so refreshing. And, that cow takedown had me giggling!! “Didn’t sign for running of the bulls”!!! Oh my goodness that was funny!!! And another milestone - the cat count passed the 100s!!! Yippee 🐱 Buen Camino.
The weather was nicer when I did the climb to O’Cebriero Stacey, so I felt very blessed and happy. The pilgrim mass was my favorite on the Camino. What a beautiful entry and views crossing into Galicia! Buen Camino!
It was raining the day we walked to O Cebreiro, I thought I was going to do a “face plant” several times walking up that hill. Luckily, I made it face in tact. Thanks for sharing
Definitely my favorite day! The scenery is beautiful, and I love all the stone buildings in O Cebriero. And the cows!!! A lot of the pilgrims I follow on UA-cam are really afraid of cows and would have lost it at that encounter! Y'all handled it great!
Yes. We loved O’Cebreiro! And, the cow encounter was both scary and thrilling. That’s my kind of thrill. Haunted houses are not for me, but a fast moving herd of cattle - yes, please!
Thank for sharing your Camino, I really enjoy watching your videos and following your journey. I walked the Camino Frances in 2010 and parts of it in 2011 and 2012. 2015 I walked the Camino de Norte and met a Belgian guy who now is my husband. We're planning our next Camino Frances in may to show our little girls where mum and dad met.
That is so great! Molly walked her first Camino (part of the Norte and the Primitivo) when she was 11. I think she could have probably done it at 10. She always carried her own pack and walked every step. Girls can do more than people think!
I did that climb in October and it was one of my favorite days. We had no idea what we were in for but it was exciting. I needed a really good work out like this. This section is tough even on those in top shape. But it was worth it! It was a beautiful day for us, and we enjoyed the cows on the road with the dogs as well as the riderless horse that knows his way back down the mountain. Many pilgrims stop for the night before reaching O’Cebreiro only to regret it because they have to finish it the following morning, which includes more climbing after leaving O’Cebreiro. Thanks for the memories!
I stayed in La Faba the night before hiking up to O Cebreiro. The hostel in La Faba had a small VERY cold pool where a bunch of us sat and soaked our feet. I also remember having breakfast at the place Stacy & Molly had dinner!
That was very entertaining. I was a bit scared for you when the cows ran you down. What an amazing town. One day I hope to experience it. Really enjoying your journey. Look forward to the next video. Buen camino.
You girls are amazing!!@ Thanks for the commentary..very informative!! Looked like a great day .. can't get over the cow nudging you out of the way. Bahahaha 🤣 I will celebrate 🍾 my birthday in O'Cebreiro in May .. couldn't think of a better place after having watched your video. Looking forward to your next instalment. 😀
I’m trying to decide if being knocked over by a cow is better or worse than navigating around a dead horse on the trail… 🤔 Molly and Stacey your thoughts? I’m thinking dead horse is worse, but the cow did have those beautiful horns that could be painful. Im really enjoying all the adventures!
Ah, not first today. O Cebreiro, the climb was made possible by some food assistance by three young Madrileños. I was pretty proud of my Spanish that day. After some time, they thought I was too slow, but the arrival was made the same day, though barely. I had started from Trabadelos. It was not _just_ bad condition for athletics, it was also that my sandals were starting to get worn (I had been in sandals since Carrión de los Condes, after the démise of my previous shoes).
Shoes would definitely be important. We wore the same shoes for the entire walk. They were so worn out that I didn’t even bring them home. Now, I wish I had them as a momento.
There were lots of loose dogs on the Camino Frances, but they were all friendly and accustomed to seeing pilgrims. However, there were more loose dogs on the Camino Norte and the Primitivo that were scarier. We kept our trekking poles handy and had to turn around once a go another way.
Thanks. I was lucky that they didn’t step on me. That might have been a problem, because they looked heavy. Anyway, fortunately, the cows were all gentle.
My favorite day on the Camino. That mass was so special
Mine, too. I think I would walk it every day if I could - even in the rain. Buen Camino!
O Cebreiro is my favorite section of the Camino- Gorgeous !!!
Same. I really just want to hike there every week. I can't, but I want to.

It’s a dream, isn’t it? I’ll be back for the Camino Ingles in two weeks. I’m interested to see how it compares.

Thank you! Wait until you see the cows in next week’s episode. I LOVE the cows. Maybe I’ll retire and get some cows on day…. Buen Camino.
Wow you really pushed out the k’s and the elevation on this day! I remember two tough days doing this stage. Well done!!
We had a lot of adrenaline going from the thrill of arriving at O Cebreiro.

Even in the light rain, it was a magical climb. We felt blessed and happy, too.

It started sprinkling on us, but the rain wasn’t hard enough to make the rocks slippery.
It poured all day and was all mud the entire way up the hill. Fun!
Definitely my favorite day! The scenery is beautiful, and I love all the stone buildings in O Cebriero. And the cows!!! A lot of the pilgrims I follow on UA-cam are really afraid of cows and would have lost it at that encounter! Y'all handled it great!

I know what you mean by needing the workout. We felt that way. It was pure joy. I can’t wait to do it again one day.

Emplazado a 1.300 metros de altura y en un entorno excepcional

I hope so too! The cows are gentle, but they have their routine and they are BIG! Buen Camino!

Be sure to try the O’Cebreiro cheese with honey. It was a really different and delicious desert. That was one of my favorite days for sure.
Such a beautiful section. Thank you for videoing . I can't wait to see you arrive in Santiago de compostela
Yes. We’ll be there in no time. There are always mixed emotions for us upon arrival.
Great job ladies !! That was an amazing video! And cat count. woohoo! See you next Monday!
Wait until you see how high we get with the cat count before the Coast.
“Look at those pretty flowers……upppp CAT! Haha. Feline focus.
Yes. The cat count carried us through some exciting and not-so-exciting times. Buen Camino!
so cute you are daughter
Thanks. Thank you for watching our videos. Buen Camino!

We both agree that the dead horse was worse. It was the birds and the smell….

@@staceyandmollypilgrims I had to buy new boots in Santiago.
I keep worrying about loose dogs. Was that a problem on your Camino?

I'm glad you are okay after the cow knocked you down.
Thanks. I was lucky that they didn’t step on me. That might have been a problem, because they looked heavy. Anyway, fortunately, the cows were all gentle.
