@@nev781 I am a little confused about this concept of poverty. People in the west working 2-3 jobs just to survive, while very depressed. Some of them don’t even know what vacation means. That’s not life, and we are on this planet to live.i bet you have 5 jobs and bearly make ends meet

Soon, I bet we will also hear that "Malawi, one of the poorest places on earth", is, in fact, rich with copper, gold, and other mineral resources which Great Britain, the former(?)colonial power has been quietly exploiting with little or no compensation at all. Put aside those nonsensical statistics from the WB, and the IMF, look at the Malawians and ask if you can help. If you could not, or would not, then leave them alone instead of stigmatising whole countries.
My dream is to travel and to see what true society is, we label these places as poor but we are the poor ones, spritually poor. These people are the best people on this Planet.
@Mz - This video was about being economically poor; it was not about people being SEEMINGLY happy. If everyone were so happy in African nations, you wouldn’t have so many fleeing, sometimes via dangerous waters on overloaded boats, or desiring to flee to the West. As the song goes, “Smiling faces tell lies…”

🗣️🎙️Yes libanye/ you're one big family. Your other big half of your family is across the oceans in Haiti. You're all descendants of Moses, the sons of Aaron, a Royal Priesthood 👑👑👑 of God. Your forefathers are Abraham Isaac and Jacob. You're one of the 12 Tribes of Israel(Jacob).
By the way being rich is defined according to the colonizers' terms - money, brick houses (mansions), buying processed and GMO filled food from grocery stores, access to electricity and recycled sewerage water, driving cars, having tarred roads, attending school learning from the colonizers' curriculum, having a 9 to 5 job - which is enslavement, having hospitals/clinics that destroy people's health with drugs, etc. These people live a sustainable life which is in harmony with nature. So, video creator you're wrong - these are not poor people but one of the richest people in the world
Isn’t life weird! I’ve mixed with the rich people who never seem to have enough & complaining is their nature & life’s work. Then you get the poorest who just want to listen to music & dance & laugh! Life!

Because we care, on family clans and ethnic communities levels about each other. What is missing is education about how the world works; how it saw us; and corrupt and incompetent leaders whom the West and its institutions forced upon Africans.
Its only " poor" according to western standards of infrastructure and customs. But for PAN AFRICANISTS,...its perfectly normal, they quite happy , as long as colonials not in charge.
Its just sad that out of all great and positive things about Malawi you chose a black Malawian who plays a banjo for a living and a white pilot delivering relief aid to the impoverished communities. its my dream to tell the stories of my own Country one day.
Thank you for the impression of this young musician. I enby and I pity him both. Please let him know that I appreciate his devotion, and that I wish him to be the very star of Malawi.
📍Somewhere on Earth is off to Malawi, in southern Africa. This little-known country, overshadowed by its larger neighbors Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia, is one of the poorest places on Earth. Malawi, a land of plains and highlands, is also home to an immense lake that covers 20% of its territory. Gaspar, 27 years old, is the proud owner of an amazing, one-of-a-kind guitar. He earns his living thanks to his instrument and his passion for music. Now, after 11 years on the road, he’s on his way back to his native village. Freddie’s realm is the sky. This young Dane grew up in Tanzania and learned how to fly in South Africa. Freddie, always ready for adventure, loves Africa and is now a full-fledged bush pilot.
No African country is poor. Look at how the nature is gorgeous and full of natural resources. It is just a matter of organization and knowhow that will improve the quality of life someday. But people are happy and smiling all the time. To me the West have just to not interfere in their business by corrupting some of them and plundering the natural resources.
Beautiful people and country. Thanks to them for letting us see them. They may be poor but they have special things that Western countries don't have. They have not lost their soul to all the vanity and things of the world.

I'm concerned with the Title of this documentary why would you give it such a title .
Notice how it's one of the poorest places on earth, yet one of the happiest? with genuine people. Beautiful
I envy the places with genuine people. American metropolitan areas are depressing and superficial 😢
That musician is greatly talented..He brought me a big smile
Me too. He is a wonderful artist. A musician who makes his own instruments to accompany his vocals and produce fantastic music. ❤
He's the entire band and lead singer. Pretty amazing.
Malawi is very rich, look how my fellow Africans are happy, and loving. With lots of love from Nairobi, Kenya .
They are not poor. they are just happy and leaving their life the African way.
so basically still poor
