Just found your channel. I'd like to see a walk around/build overview of your TJ. I'm in the planning stages of a ton swap for my LJ. I noticed in this video it looks like you used the Artec Apex JK/JL swap truss under yours. That's actually my plan too. Found them cheap locally on marketplace, talked to Artec and they said other than minor differences in spring pad width the front would work just fine. I'm doing 3 link anyway. I'll use the center truss section and and spring pads out of the rear swap kit for my 4 link back there.
Hey Ben! Glad you found me! And your right that I am using the artec kit, specifically for the JT. I was actually in the process of building a 1 ton gladiator and had already built these axles for that Jeep, when I decided to build this TJ instead. The biggest difference is the spring perch width which I had to cut them off and relocate them to make it work. And then I added upper triangulated links in the rear and relocate the shock brackets. I wouldn’t mind going over everything with you. I would honestly say that it would be so much easier if I started with TJ truss kits.
@@mudtiremedia Thanks. I actual have a pair of Artec's old replacement front coil/shock towers that were designed for ton swaps to space the springs to the correct width. the coil perch width is wider than stock even on the TJ swap truss. In the rear I'm just going to use the center truss section and the coil perch sections. I'll do my own upper/lower link mounts and shock mounts.
That is awesome! I wish I had gone ahead and moved my spring perches while I was doing everything. I’m currently fighting myself with the dilema of whether to swap in a v8 to push this thing, or to rip out my springs and shocks and start running coilovers…. These choices are unfair!
Another great video, looking forward to the next one.
Hey thanks! That is very much appreciated.
Looking great!
I appreciate it! So far, it drives like a dream and wheels like a demon.
