I played one match since the update. Not buying the battle pass so there's literally no reason to play. Trash maps on repeat, roll or get rolled, even if I carry 50 elims 2 deaths I lose anyhow. Not allowed to equip gold weapons so why even bother playing comp for the green ones. Funny character pressed one button despite me hitting the head. This is all before getting into the politics. Why can't I see how much damage my primary fire deals? I consume OW2 content and didn't even know when the update was available until the console prompt, imagine the casuals who Jared Neuss claims as their target audience. I said years ago the game has a terrible return on investment. Got some lovely games on the back burner deserving attention, respect my time, make me feel good even. Wake me up when Overwatch Classic comes out next Christmas.
Can we also talk about the recent report system regarding text and voice chats? I recently got suspended for abusive chat when I was calling out players who weren't doing their job or feeding. When I got the logs of what I said, the most ridiculous one I saw listed was me joking around with someone with the name Starscream. It was nothing inappropriate, just me jokingly asking them how Megatron was and "closer than second in command then?" Yes swear words were used, but not to insult other players, but it's the fact that now they don't want to allow any swearing in game despite the characters using swears in the in game dialogue. It's ridiculous!
Played OW alone last night, which I haven't done in months. Usually I q up with at least 2-3 friends if not a full stack and we play Total Mayhem, because despite it's own meta and struggles, we can usually manage to have FUN. I flex q'd for role q QP and got exclusively tank. If I didn't have good healers healing me almost 80% of the time, and my dps weren't killing things, it was miserable. I felt so alone. Not because I was playing solo, but because when I wasn't getting pocketed out of my ass, or cleaning up with a dps, I was the only tank with no one watching my back. I'd go in to try and make space, only for everyone else to split up and deal with something in the backline, or flank, or whatever. And then I'd be all alone trying to backpedal only to die with my team nowhere near me. Every time there was something in the back, I would have to turn around and turn my back to 3-4 enemies to peel for supports or whatever, and stop trying to make space, then once my back is turned to try and help my team instead of make space and push in, I'd get shot in the back and die. It just doesn't work.
I finally quit a few weeks ago. I wanted a new hobby so I bought a guitar. It’s hard and there’s a learning curb but it’s been fun. Honestly, fuck overwatch.

I’ve been saying this since people were whining about GOATS comp, that being, if double shield is such a nuisance to players, then either increase damage dealt to shield by DPS, or just make it so one tank can shield and the other has to play an enabler tank like Zarya. Like we didn’t have to up root everything. People stopped playing because of that, and it could’ve been a small update from the devs, but instead OW was left as it was for years, no updates. Then Blizzard got pissy and promised new big changes and the game is even more stale than it was. And it’s literally, solely because, Blizzard doesn’t listen to the actual players. They just attach a beer bong to their asses and sniff, or ask Flats, what he thinks they should do. And I love the guy, but he gives advice that keeps him “notable” or whatever. Like Holy shit. We had a game, a beloved and extremely popular game from 2016-2018. It needed a little polishing, but instead the devs just went fucking nuts with “tweaks” and “rebalances” and then the whole dev shift from SH/SA. Every update was worse and worse after 2018ish, then they stopped updating altogether. Then Blizzard trued figuring out how to monetize a beaten community and gave false promises. Now we have this. This abomination of too much health, damage and healing, with the exact same strat over and over again with no ability to solo carry.
The latest '15 minute' (40-50 minutes) blizzard survey I was sent 2 weeks ago focused a lot on my opinion on 6v6. I suspect this is going to have a decent chance of coming back at some stage
ah, i figured it out. new players also despise 5v5, they just dismiss all the problems because they think it was like that forever. they just don't know what they are even complaining about.
I don't play Overwatch, but I was interested in the franchise through its diverse character designs and its lore. The PVE with its story potential could have convinced me to play the game... AND THEN IT WAS CANCELED. Technically, it's worse than that, because it was never going to be fully released and Blizzard knew that months before launch. That little revelation that this wasn't really a sequel, just a monetization revamp, convinced me not to pick up this game. I still, however, lurk around to see what is being released as far as lore and characters. Even then, the newest characters Illari and Venture have no lore drops or intro videos accompanying them! It definitely shows me that Blizzard stopped putting in full effort a long time ago. The only thing players can look forward to is new cosmetics to buy in the shop.
6:42 i mean i was hardstuck, high plat - low to mid diamond in ow1 for about 25 seasons and i still prefer being there then getting master or lower gm every damn season in ow2. Just because the way and my mental feels so awful in ow2. Even if I win, i mostly feel like i lost something…. I’ve listened to you, emongg, super,, eskay etc.. talk about how Overwatch can improve as a game, but it seems yalls suggestions are not being heard by blizzard. As we all know this has been the case for a long time. So I have a proposal to force blizzard to make changes, boycott the item shop/all in game purchases. Here’s my full proposal: All Overwatch creators get together and create a “list of demands” for blizzard, until blizzards meets this list of demands each streamer will tell their communities to boycott all in game purchases of Overwatch. The only way to force blizzard to change is to hurt their profits and this would do that. Obviously creating a “list of demands” for blizzard will be the most challenging part and by no means will be easy to complete, but The only thing Overwatch streamers think they can do is bitch and moan abt blizzard(which is all they’ve been doing) STAND TF UP and do something about your dieing game.

I can prove 6v6 was better at least for tanks. I peaked one tricking ball in ow1. Peak when double shield was at its peak. So i was able to break through the supposedly broken and impossible to beat double shield as Ball vs diamond and masters players. For the majority of OW2 Ball has been nearly unplayable for anyone not named Chazm. Beating the counterswaps in plat usnt even worth the headache anymore.... just pick meta tank, turn off brain and counterpick if you die to much. I shouldnt need to play at a high diamond/masters level to beat plats because the plat players picked the right heros.
Overwatch 2 is such a downgrade from Overwatch 1 that no one noticed the non gameplay things they removed: where is the sound when someone joins your party? Why even remove that? The amount of times I'll invite a friend to my party, look down at my phone for 20 seconds and be like wtf is he doing is he going to join, look up and see he's in the party waiting to go... Why did they remove the sound? Rank icons in game... It doesn't effect toxicity, there's no reason why the other players even need to see it, but I want to see it in the corner of my screen, it makes me feel good about ranking up. Player borders... Why can't I have a level with a cool border? General chat... Honestly some of the weird, deep, crazy, stupid and completely random conversations I had with complete strangers in the general chat... Why take it away??? No one complained about it. Then again saying that, if general chat still existed it would be full of 6v6 vs 5v5 debates. SR Numbers... Obviously it was talked about a lot whilst we had the fucking awful ranked system that we used to have, but the system we have now, although good enough, is not as good as what we used to have. Top 500 players could actually compare their peaks, every montage would say the player's peak SR in the title, because it meant something.
'I feel like the death of the "Montage UA-camrs" in a game correlates to the downfall of a game. The population of a game might remain the same, but it will become evident as community sentiment drops and no one can find any fun in it and eventually will die. I hate seeing games I love dying, but as time goes on I've watched multiple games do this same thing and there are patterns that you begin to notice and I just wish that people would see it and try to fix it before it is too late.
Sam have you considered the fact that maybe people are just better at living nowadays? The reason you can have 1k dmg per elim is because people are better at not dying to spam damage, especially in high ranks
So maany times when playing tank i would have more dmg then the other tank but have like 3 kills and they would have 12-15 kills you could say thats me not being able to finsh or whatever but i would say its more so there support players covering the correct characters at the right time and vice versa for.my team not even saying there supports were better just that they won the first back and forth but steamrolling is so bad and also just out side your control at that point if your putting in the dmg but it keeps getting negated and reversed but the dmg on me isnt because my supports might be in spawn or pinned down else whete it's over
the only good thing ow2 has added in its entire existence is the ping system and that came with the launch, every patch since has made it worse and worse to the point they got me out here playing solo games and shit like paladins instead, how has it come to this.

To me, role q forever killed the game. Game only went downhill from there. From that point on they just kept dropping L's and kept making the game more and more narrow with dropping the 2nd tank, counter swapping and then now the role passives. It's not rose-tinted glasses, the game is now is just straight up miserable to play.

The content creator scene is incredibly divided because half are taking it personally. There is no reward for learning proper fundamentals of the game because you can just point and be fine on most of the cast now, at least for most ranks, hell most support players are learning that healing is not even a priority. The reporting system is abusable and simply cussing in a chat counts against you leading to more toxicity outside of an individual match (which can be easily forgotten) and more people leaving the game.

“Nostalgia” “Rose tinted glasses” “Queue times” “Nobody likes tank in any game- MMO, MOBA, or OW” “Revealed vs stated preferences” I’m tired of hearing this. There is a large segment of the community that prefers 6v6 and loves playing weaker tanks where you can synergize with your tank partner. We will keep asking for 6v6 until we no longer care about the game. We don’t want to stop people from playing and enjoying 5v5, but if we are told we can’t even have 6v6 in the arcade because it will split queue times, then the 5v5ers are the ones who have turned this into an either or discussion. People will passionately argue for what they believe is the superior format of the game to be reinstated and you can’t blame them. There is a way to make queue times work- it’s called making it fun. Something which Blizzard and 5v5ers seem to believe is impossible. They lack vision/imagination.
Have you played any open queue? I've enjoyed the lower health pools for tanks and having multiple tanks. It feels like it's incredibly underrated and like people aren't really trying it out, but maybe that's just because my rank is too low (gold role queue, plat open queue) to have the proper goats experience.
@@alexanderjackson7948 I agree, the open queue is the way to go, but once you get too high such as high masters or GM, queue times become unbearable and it turns into 4 tanks and 1 support every game. Open queue is the wave if you don't go too high.
This is why we need a 6v6 quick play hacked. Although knowing Blizzard they wouldn't actually release a balance patch with it and would leave it the same so it sucks
Because Tanks are actually insanely strong in this game. So strong in fact that you get called for throwing when picking DPS in Open Queue Ranked. Its only Tanks and Healers. But playing Tank in Role Queue still feels terrible because of the Format. How much does Blizzard still want to buff Tanks? They are already op af but the format just sucks
It’s honestly an amazing way to describe the inherent game theory that makes 5v5 such a problem; So many of the issues with the format are so glaringly obvious, I don’t know how it’s taken this long for people to see it as a crappier Evolve from a gameplay perspective. 6v6 would make so many decisions around this game make more sense even with the problems that would likely pop up from it.

Overwatch 2 cured my overwatch addiction, I rarely play anymore. I got to experience this game at lunch and had a blast, great things come to an end, ggs boys.
I played this game from early 2018 to 2021-22 and climbed from the bottom to the top in that time. Tank is just so lame now. Less depth and more counterpick. I occasionally play the game when something big happens (season 9 for example), but other than that, I don't really play anymore.
Whenever I start this game up, I play either quick play or comp for one game and then quit because that’s all I can take. It’s a terrible game experience. And I know it’s not a drastically different game even if 5v5 sucks, but the toxic community, poor balance, monetization, and the lack of new content like pve or tv shows and movies has all killed this game for me.
Open queue doesn't solve the problem because the game is so goddamn imbalanced now. You don't get two weak tanks making up for one, you get two (or more) raid boss tanks teaming up and sucking the little fun out of the game. Last time I played open queue it was against a hog and dva and dva was just DMing the hog so he didn't get anti'd or burst down. So freaking lame. This was before last patch too, he literally was THE BEST TANK IN THE GAME. WHY ARE YOU PROTECTING HIM?! 😂
Also why steam reviews are still mostly negative. I mean you can argue that at launch there was frustration from Chinese players who got the game taken away from them but the game has since went live again over there and the RECENT reviews still being mostly negative and nothing ever changes shows that the players are simply unhappy with the game in general.
@@FatMCSteve nah. Review bombing wouldn't last that long if people genuine enjoyed the game. Take in mind that each player can only review once. So if new players come in and like the game and don't even know about the pve or don't care they would have left a positive review and eventually the RECENT review score would have turned positive but thats not the case. It remained mostly negative for forever now, so even new players who tries the game leave a negative review means they had a bad experience with it.
Sometime I hop into open queue as tank. Most games it's 2 tanks, 2 supports, 1 dps. It feels so much better not being the only one to absorb CC and having that other tank there.
@EmmaxoOCE Yep, there's open queue for both comp and quick play. Still feels a bit empty and less coordination then 6v6; but playing tank tends to be more enjoyable.

Also I hate when people go to double shield. Ori has been changed now and there are other tank options, as well as other support characters that have introduced new mechanics to the game. I never said go back to OW1 patch ect ect. Obviously numbers would have to be balanced again and all that jazz, but again they just want to shit on their fans by calling them “nostalgia blinded” instead of working with their community to shape the game.
Playing OW2 is like clocking into a job you hate. I played it out of habit for a while but I uninstalled for probably the last time several months ago and haven’t looked back. I still keep up with the game (and its content creators) because it was such a big part of my gaming life during the 2010s (probably my most played game ever), but I’ve made peace with the fact the game will never be good again.

Same. After a break during the end of OW1's life cycle, I tried OW2 in early 2023 and hated it. Took another break, came back in early 2024 because friends wanted to try the game and convinced me to join. Played for a bit, really tried to like it since I wanted to play with my friends, but before long they said they didn't like how imbalanced it felt (tanks as one complaint) and quit, and then after playing a bit more, I admitted defeat as well and uninstalled in season 10. Just can't like it anymore, I'm not warming to 5v5 at all despite giving it many hours and my best attempt to get used to it and like it. This as a dps/supp main. It sucks but I've made my peace with the idea as well that the game will likely never be good again. What a shame.

It is what it is to me tbh. But I do want 6v6 back. The whole reason that I mainly play competitive open queue is because we can have more than one tank. The tank abilities in the game go so well together

So they're basically saying, "If the world could always use more heroes, why are you making a game for people who only play it when they can get rewarded for playing" like when a role is strong you get rewarded for playing it. I figured they won’t bring back 6v6, so I stopped playing tanks, playing tanks is like doing a job without getting paid, I fulfill the tank role to help blizzard keeping their player DAU for other positions, and they won’t even give me an option to avoid quad queue where each healer follows each of their quad queue dps. Nope, not playing tank role anymore.
The cringe thing is the devs think season 9 was successful, but it was the dagger in the heart for the game. Season 9 had people curious to try the game that is it. Once people found out how annoying the health increases and bullet increases were, they all left.
Yes, indeed. I returned because I saw there was a new hero, all heroes were unlocked and there were some balance changes. But after playing a season, I feel like this game is in a terrible state and I lost all my interest in it.

When i watch overwatch 1 gameplay, even from the bad meta's, my heart literally hurts because of how much i miss that game. Overwatch 1 was personally ranked as my favorite game of all time; its insane how far overwatch 2 is away from that spot. It isnt even in the top 50. I know overwatch 1 being as good as it was was an accident, but it is absurd how such an amazing game has been absolutely razed to the ground. Legitimately needs to be case studied for development in the future.
Overwatch 2 is exactly like the modern Simpsons. It has the same look and character names, but it's an entirely different and shittier version of the thing we loved. You could be fooled into thinking it's still overwatch, but it's just not. I want the final build of OW1 back so much.

Seems like some of my comments on the forums aged like fine wine: I said back in 2021 that Brig is a massive design issue cuz she is supposed to be an easy character, yet nobody outside of top500 could play her + the way she has to be played is unintuitive. Also me in 2021: You cannot just magically improve a role quality without the other 2 suffering for it. Honorable mentions from 2021: Widow should not have grapple, Tank will feel miserable cuz synergies are gone with 5v5. Feelsgoodman
all i'll say is that in 6v6 the game was fun enough for me to be competetive and try most seasons i was active. since 5v5 started i got placed thrice. twice in support and once in DPS.

Can we also talk about the recent report system regarding text and voice chats? I recently got suspended for abusive chat when I was calling out players who weren't doing their job or feeding. When I got the logs of what I said, the most ridiculous one I saw listed was me joking around with someone with the name Starscream. It was nothing inappropriate, just me jokingly asking them how Megatron was and "closer than second in command then?" Yes swear words were used, but not to insult other players, but it's the fact that now they don't want to allow any swearing in game despite the characters using swears in the in game dialogue. It's ridiculous!
Played OW alone last night, which I haven't done in months. Usually I q up with at least 2-3 friends if not a full stack and we play Total Mayhem, because despite it's own meta and struggles, we can usually manage to have FUN. I flex q'd for role q QP and got exclusively tank. If I didn't have good healers healing me almost 80% of the time, and my dps weren't killing things, it was miserable. I felt so alone. Not because I was playing solo, but because when I wasn't getting pocketed out of my ass, or cleaning up with a dps, I was the only tank with no one watching my back.
I'd go in to try and make space, only for everyone else to split up and deal with something in the backline, or flank, or whatever. And then I'd be all alone trying to backpedal only to die with my team nowhere near me. Every time there was something in the back, I would have to turn around and turn my back to 3-4 enemies to peel for supports or whatever, and stop trying to make space, then once my back is turned to try and help my team instead of make space and push in, I'd get shot in the back and die.
It just doesn't work.

I’ve been saying this since people were whining about GOATS comp, that being, if double shield is such a nuisance to players, then either increase damage dealt to shield by DPS, or just make it so one tank can shield and the other has to play an enabler tank like Zarya. Like we didn’t have to up root everything. People stopped playing because of that, and it could’ve been a small update from the devs, but instead OW was left as it was for years, no updates. Then Blizzard got pissy and promised new big changes and the game is even more stale than it was. And it’s literally, solely because, Blizzard doesn’t listen to the actual players. They just attach a beer bong to their asses and sniff, or ask Flats, what he thinks they should do. And I love the guy, but he gives advice that keeps him “notable” or whatever.
Like Holy shit. We had a game, a beloved and extremely popular game from 2016-2018. It needed a little polishing, but instead the devs just went fucking nuts with “tweaks” and “rebalances” and then the whole dev shift from SH/SA. Every update was worse and worse after 2018ish, then they stopped updating altogether. Then Blizzard trued figuring out how to monetize a beaten community and gave false promises. Now we have this. This abomination of too much health, damage and healing, with the exact same strat over and over again with no ability to solo carry.
The latest '15 minute' (40-50 minutes) blizzard survey I was sent 2 weeks ago focused a lot on my opinion on 6v6. I suspect this is going to have a decent chance of coming back at some stage

I don't play Overwatch, but I was interested in the franchise through its diverse character designs and its lore. The PVE with its story potential could have convinced me to play the game... AND THEN IT WAS CANCELED. Technically, it's worse than that, because it was never going to be fully released and Blizzard knew that months before launch. That little revelation that this wasn't really a sequel, just a monetization revamp, convinced me not to pick up this game.
I still, however, lurk around to see what is being released as far as lore and characters. Even then, the newest characters Illari and Venture have no lore drops or intro videos accompanying them! It definitely shows me that Blizzard stopped putting in full effort a long time ago. The only thing players can look forward to is new cosmetics to buy in the shop.

I’ve listened to you, emongg, super,, eskay etc.. talk about how Overwatch can improve as a game, but it seems yalls suggestions are not being heard by blizzard. As we all know this has been the case for a long time. So I have a proposal to force blizzard to make changes, boycott the item shop/all in game purchases. Here’s my full proposal: All Overwatch creators get together and create a “list of demands” for blizzard, until blizzards meets this list of demands each streamer will tell their communities to boycott all in game purchases of Overwatch. The only way to force blizzard to change is to hurt their profits and this would do that. Obviously creating a “list of demands” for blizzard will be the most challenging part and by no means will be easy to complete, but The only thing Overwatch streamers think they can do is bitch and moan abt blizzard(which is all they’ve been doing) STAND TF UP and do something about your dieing game.

I can prove 6v6 was better at least for tanks.
I peaked one tricking ball in ow1. Peak when double shield was at its peak. So i was able to break through the supposedly broken and impossible to beat double shield as Ball vs diamond and masters players.
For the majority of OW2 Ball has been nearly unplayable for anyone not named Chazm. Beating the counterswaps in plat usnt even worth the headache anymore.... just pick meta tank, turn off brain and counterpick if you die to much.
I shouldnt need to play at a high diamond/masters level to beat plats because the plat players picked the right heros.
I only play now to play sombra and spawn kill squishies and then tbag them until they rage quit and leave the game. I don't even care about winning.

Overwatch 2 is such a downgrade from Overwatch 1 that no one noticed the non gameplay things they removed: where is the sound when someone joins your party? Why even remove that? The amount of times I'll invite a friend to my party, look down at my phone for 20 seconds and be like wtf is he doing is he going to join, look up and see he's in the party waiting to go... Why did they remove the sound?
Rank icons in game... It doesn't effect toxicity, there's no reason why the other players even need to see it, but I want to see it in the corner of my screen, it makes me feel good about ranking up.
Player borders... Why can't I have a level with a cool border?
General chat... Honestly some of the weird, deep, crazy, stupid and completely random conversations I had with complete strangers in the general chat... Why take it away??? No one complained about it. Then again saying that, if general chat still existed it would be full of 6v6 vs 5v5 debates.
SR Numbers... Obviously it was talked about a lot whilst we had the fucking awful ranked system that we used to have, but the system we have now, although good enough, is not as good as what we used to have. Top 500 players could actually compare their peaks, every montage would say the player's peak SR in the title, because it meant something.

'I feel like the death of the "Montage UA-camrs" in a game correlates to the downfall of a game. The population of a game might remain the same, but it will become evident as community sentiment drops and no one can find any fun in it and eventually will die. I hate seeing games I love dying, but as time goes on I've watched multiple games do this same thing and there are patterns that you begin to notice and I just wish that people would see it and try to fix it before it is too late.

So maany times when playing tank i would have more dmg then the other tank but have like 3 kills and they would have 12-15 kills you could say thats me not being able to finsh or whatever but i would say its more so there support players covering the correct characters at the right time and vice versa for.my team not even saying there supports were better just that they won the first back and forth but steamrolling is so bad and also just out side your control at that point if your putting in the dmg but it keeps getting negated and reversed but the dmg on me isnt because my supports might be in spawn or pinned down else whete it's over

To me, role q forever killed the game. Game only went downhill from there.
From that point on they just kept dropping L's and kept making the game more and more narrow with dropping the 2nd tank, counter swapping and then now the role passives.

The content creator scene is incredibly divided because half are taking it personally. There is no reward for learning proper fundamentals of the game because you can just point and be fine on most of the cast now, at least for most ranks, hell most support players are learning that healing is not even a priority. The reporting system is abusable and simply cussing in a chat counts against you leading to more toxicity outside of an individual match (which can be easily forgotten) and more people leaving the game.

I’m tired of hearing this. There is a large segment of the community that prefers 6v6 and loves playing weaker tanks where you can synergize with your tank partner. We will keep asking for 6v6 until we no longer care about the game. We don’t want to stop people from playing and enjoying 5v5, but if we are told we can’t even have 6v6 in the arcade because it will split queue times, then the 5v5ers are the ones who have turned this into an either or discussion. People will passionately argue for what they believe is the superior format of the game to be reinstated and you can’t blame them. There is a way to make queue times work- it’s called making it fun. Something which Blizzard and 5v5ers seem to believe is impossible. They lack vision/imagination.
Have you played any open queue?
I've enjoyed the lower health pools for tanks and having multiple tanks. It feels like it's incredibly underrated and like people aren't really trying it out, but maybe that's just because my rank is too low (gold role queue, plat open queue) to have the proper goats experience.
@@alexanderjackson7948 I agree, the open queue is the way to go, but once you get too high such as high masters or GM, queue times become unbearable and it turns into 4 tanks and 1 support every game. Open queue is the wave if you don't go too high.
This is why we need a 6v6 quick play hacked. Although knowing Blizzard they wouldn't actually release a balance patch with it and would leave it the same so it sucks
Because Tanks are actually insanely strong in this game. So strong in fact that you get called for throwing when picking DPS in Open Queue Ranked. Its only Tanks and Healers.
But playing Tank in Role Queue still feels terrible because of the Format. How much does Blizzard still want to buff Tanks? They are already op af but the format just sucks

It’s honestly an amazing way to describe the inherent game theory that makes 5v5 such a problem; So many of the issues with the format are so glaringly obvious, I don’t know how it’s taken this long for people to see it as a crappier Evolve from a gameplay perspective. 6v6 would make so many decisions around this game make more sense even with the problems that would likely pop up from it.

I played this game from early 2018 to 2021-22 and climbed from the bottom to the top in that time. Tank is just so lame now. Less depth and more counterpick. I occasionally play the game when something big happens (season 9 for example), but other than that, I don't really play anymore.

Whenever I start this game up, I play either quick play or comp for one game and then quit because that’s all I can take. It’s a terrible game experience. And I know it’s not a drastically different game even if 5v5 sucks, but the toxic community, poor balance, monetization, and the lack of new content like pve or tv shows and movies has all killed this game for me.

Open queue doesn't solve the problem because the game is so goddamn imbalanced now. You don't get two weak tanks making up for one, you get two (or more) raid boss tanks teaming up and sucking the little fun out of the game. Last time I played open queue it was against a hog and dva and dva was just DMing the hog so he didn't get anti'd or burst down. So freaking lame. This was before last patch too, he literally was THE BEST TANK IN THE GAME. WHY ARE YOU PROTECTING HIM?! 😂

I mean you can argue that at launch there was frustration from Chinese players who got the game taken away from them but the game has since went live again over there and the RECENT reviews still being mostly negative and nothing ever changes shows that the players are simply unhappy with the game in general.

@@FatMCSteve nah. Review bombing wouldn't last that long if people genuine enjoyed the game. Take in mind that each player can only review once. So if new players come in and like the game and don't even know about the pve or don't care they would have left a positive review and eventually the RECENT review score would have turned positive but thats not the case. It remained mostly negative for forever now, so even new players who tries the game leave a negative review means they had a bad experience with it.

Sometime I hop into open queue as tank. Most games it's 2 tanks, 2 supports, 1 dps. It feels so much better not being the only one to absorb CC and having that other tank there.

Also I hate when people go to double shield. Ori has been changed now and there are other tank options, as well as other support characters that have introduced new mechanics to the game. I never said go back to OW1 patch ect ect. Obviously numbers would have to be balanced again and all that jazz, but again they just want to shit on their fans by calling them “nostalgia blinded” instead of working with their community to shape the game.
Playing OW2 is like clocking into a job you hate. I played it out of habit for a while but I uninstalled for probably the last time several months ago and haven’t looked back. I still keep up with the game (and its content creators) because it was such a big part of my gaming life during the 2010s (probably my most played game ever), but I’ve made peace with the fact the game will never be good again.
Yeah I also uninstalled and left the game for several months then reinstalled and played out of habit. The game is nowhere near as good as it was and I don't know if it will ever come back.
Same. After a break during the end of OW1's life cycle, I tried OW2 in early 2023 and hated it. Took another break, came back in early 2024 because friends wanted to try the game and convinced me to join. Played for a bit, really tried to like it since I wanted to play with my friends, but before long they said they didn't like how imbalanced it felt (tanks as one complaint) and quit, and then after playing a bit more, I admitted defeat as well and uninstalled in season 10. Just can't like it anymore, I'm not warming to 5v5 at all despite giving it many hours and my best attempt to get used to it and like it. This as a dps/supp main. It sucks but I've made my peace with the idea as well that the game will likely never be good again. What a shame.

I figured they won’t bring back 6v6, so I stopped playing tanks, playing tanks is like doing a job without getting paid, I fulfill the tank role to help blizzard keeping their player DAU for other positions, and they won’t even give me an option to avoid quad queue where each healer follows each of their quad queue dps. Nope, not playing tank role anymore.

The cringe thing is the devs think season 9 was successful, but it was the dagger in the heart for the game. Season 9 had people curious to try the game that is it. Once people found out how annoying the health increases and bullet increases were, they all left.

Overwatch 1 was personally ranked as my favorite game of all time; its insane how far overwatch 2 is away from that spot. It isnt even in the top 50. I know overwatch 1 being as good as it was was an accident, but it is absurd how such an amazing game has been absolutely razed to the ground. Legitimately needs to be case studied for development in the future.

It has the same look and character names, but it's an entirely different and shittier version of the thing we loved. You could be fooled into thinking it's still overwatch, but it's just not.

Bro Sam watches these videos so freaking fast I can't even hear what the person in the video is saying half the time. He got the entire 25 min video PLUS a reaction than 8 minutes shorter than the original video. Would you be able to slow them down just a little bit Sam?

Seems like some of my comments on the forums aged like fine wine:
I said back in 2021 that Brig is a massive design issue cuz she is supposed to be an easy character, yet nobody outside of top500 could play her + the way she has to be played is unintuitive.
Also me in 2021: You cannot just magically improve a role quality without the other 2 suffering for it.
Honorable mentions from 2021: Widow should not have grapple, Tank will feel miserable cuz synergies are gone with 5v5.

all i'll say is that in 6v6 the game was fun enough for me to be competetive and try most seasons i was active. since 5v5 started i got placed thrice. twice in support and once in DPS.
