I didn't find this very informative. It's assuming the individual is familiar doing this sort of thing. Come on Transporter HQ we need a bit more detail please 😊 I fed a microfibre towel down the inside edge nearest the bodywork top to bottom then pulled it tight into the centre of the glass. Gripped the loose microfibre cloth tight and holding the wing mirror housing pulled the cloth in repeatedly firmer motions and it popped out no problem. I then used a plastic trim tool to prize the top and bottom casings starting at the bottom / top of the indicator working my way along up / down depending on which casing you're taking off with the plastic trim tool and a small flat blade screwdriver. The first wing mirror took me 40 minutes to work out and do the second 12 minutes......... I'm really pleased with the indicators though they're great value and look fantastic.
Have to say I agree with this statement, the video isn't the usual THQ quality. Mainly with the glass removal section (I would say that as I smashed the first glass!) the rest is trial and error with minimal risk of smashing anything. The mirror glass is fragile and requires the right technique to remove safely. That being said the indicators do look bad ass once fitted! We just need a better video and some instructions in the box, I'm pretty competent with this type of task, but if this was given to someone with little or no expierence it wouldn't end well. Just my 2 pence worth.
@@THQAutomotive ok so it can be done with just trim tools? Don’t need that little suction cup tool. I only saw that as part of a dent pulling tool set which I don’t want…
Does anyone make crafter style mirrors that fit on a t6.1 .I love my new van but the mirror would benefit from the lower wide angle mirror . Can crafter mirror's but adapted to fit a t6.1.
Good looking addition everyone stay safe in this weather 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
Cheers Peter, you too ❤️
Yo guys great video just got my replacement mirrors do you know which way the red and blue wires go on for the heated glass? Cheers

Mine just arrived from THQ EU. Any eBay/Amazon links to the right tools shown here? Don’t want to crack the glass…
Just search plastic trim tool.

No sorry. I don't think anyone makes anything like that.
You know its a door mirror, Mk2 Cortinas had wing mirrors.
I'll notify VW and let them know all their information and parts lists are wrong across their whole range.
But I know you're right. I'm sure the world will still refer to them as wing mirrors for many years until they are replaced with cameras.
@@THQAutomotive lol , I don't know why it annoys me, it just does, and yeah, I've seen manufactures call them wing mirrors too.
Indicator Porn 😂👌
