I’ve owned my Stinger GT for almost 3 years. It’s a great balanced car. Room for passengers, massive hatch and cargo space with the rear seats down, and fun to drive.
My old boy is an engine reconditioner with nearly 50 years in the game. Whenever anyone talks about grunty modern sedans to buy in his workshop, the Stinger is his go to for praise. Just showed him your video and he was like .. “yep, exactly as that guy Liam said… impressive.”
Nice review, looks like it really hauls ass! See a ton of them here in Aus, and of course the cops use them here too as highway patrol cars. I liked the facelift version of them with the different badge and bigger exhaust tips but all of them are great, they were around 60k new drive away price here pre pandemic which was good value for money!
The police use them as highway patrol vehicles here in Queensland. They put about 80-100,000km on them and then sell them at auction for about $30k. Seems like a lot of car for the money 🤔
@clownworld1967The i30N has a warranty that includes track use. Id expect 1.5X life expectancy over a German Built platform. Service, Service, Service thats the key to ownership.
Nice car.I like going up there in my MX5 fast..even though I'm an old guy! Was looking at a yellow Stinger recently at the Paraparaumu KIA dealership.Looked great in that colour. You must wonder though about parts availability down the track if it is no longer produced.A Brit tester [Jay Emm? ] reckoned that it drove similarly to a Maserati.
I own a Mazza Quattroporte (4.7 GTS) and the Genesis G70 (Hyundai Stinger), yes, very similar apart from refinement. Can't beat a Mazza/Ferrari derived engine though, pure adrenaline induced performance.
Awesome review as always and great to see a good car again as the last run of reviews have been abit bland for me lol need somemore raw content to keep things exciting 😎
Nice driving mate especially when the back end stepped out ,i thought you'd lost it 👌. The cops in Liverpool use them as interceptors, a beast of a car.
Had this playing on my feed muted. With no audio the driving footatge looked sped up so had to click. Its just fast, not just straightline - impressive handling for such a large car.
Im surprised that your surprised how good they are. They are a cracking good car. I guess that what happens when you hire the head of BMW M division and Audi RS as well. Then develop a car on the Nordschleife with them.

I test drove a brand new Stinger GT in 2018. The reason I don't own one is the gearbox was not properly matched to that brilliant engine. It would not stay in manual mode when you selected it, no matter what you you did after several seconds it would switch back to automatic. I think Kia missed a trick not offering it with a manual gearbox.
I know, it was just a general statement the RS4 was kinda lumped in with the others. Appreciate your correction. The Stinger should only come RWD. AWD would ruin a car like this, too heavy, too boring, too safe
