When I first heard Cherry Red Wine it was by another artist that I love.....I am so glad I've heard Luther's version, both I love.....This man put so much into his singing. Its so sad he is no longer with us to sing his music.....
The man WAS THE BLUES. I saw him blow Buddy Guy off the stage at a Bluesfest in Ottawa, Canada when he had just returned from France. Live on Luther. Robert
I don't think that I've ever heard or seen a more emotionally powerful performance of anything. Allison was a genius: no other description does him justice.
Luther was one of the top cats too ever do it anyone who has had the privilege too listen too his music and follows blues knows how good he truly is. a master for sure one of my all time favourites! His vibrato and timing is unbelievable
That man had more 5:32 blues in his little finger than most could only wish for.Love him and his music and his Buddy Jim Solberg is excellent too, can't forget him.
I've always loved this song. Luther is a passionate and wonderful musician, but it's the song itself that gets me. After hearing one too many songs about lets party, this to me was a breathe of fresh air, someone telling the truth about things I had to watch happen.
The guitar work is brilliant but it is the vocal that really makes this an extraordinary moment. What a talent. A beautiful, rich, powerful, emotional voice backed by a lot of light and shade from his guitar. Thanks so much for posting this.
there's nothing like some low down and dirty blues licks to sooze the savage soul. Luther's art will live on in my soulful existence until my last breath.
I first heard Luther Allison On Otis Rush and Friends Live in Montreux with Eric Clapton and what a Talent He had Blues.Funk And Rock all in One Man I have since found 3 Used CD of Him to add to my Bounty
yeah I went through a couple years with this guy. Like many or our legends he took off and went to Europe. These guys sometimes don't ever return. I've been to Europe, if I have to go there to hear the blues than so be it.
The Metropolitan Ballroom, Golden Valley, MN May 5, 1997 1) cherry red wine 2) living in the house of the blues thanx for posting this video! (jeff, you wouldn't happen to have a 480p resolution version or more songs from this show you could post do you?)
Luther Allison - Cherry red wine Watching you babe Watching you all the time Watching you baby Just watching you all the time Watching you destroy yourself woman All you do is sit around drinking wine You worry me babe I'm sitting here wondering what in the world can I do Worry me babe I'm sitting wondering what in the world can I do We've got so much to live for darling But I just can't sit here doing nothing and watching that wine destroy you I'm talking you to the doctor darling Maybe the doctor knows what's going on in your head Yeah I'm taking you to the doctor darling Maybe he knows what's going on in your head You're gonna keep on drinking that bad wine baby Even the grass that grows on your grave will be cherry red
Wow! I guess after 6 years Biddy Miller still doesn't have a sense of humor! It's not like it was an insult or anything ffs. think Luther himself would think it was funny. Must suck to be a stick in the mud.
Same thing I was wondering the whole time. It's beautiful. Looks like a Ibanez Artist, but the f-hole is wrong. The headstock makes me think, Washburn maybe?
Я сижу и просто плачу навзрыд от этой музыки, почему? Не знаю?выворачивает душу наизнанку

Luther allison is the most uniqe players to ever live.
I don't know if there's anyone who played and sung with as much passion and emotion as Luther Allison.
The passion of this man is beautiful and inspiring
this guy was underrated, too bad he didn't get as popular like buddy guy.
David Allen
Partly because his life was cut short by that lung-cancer he died of in 1997.
Didn't live long enough, David. He was always my fave blues guitarist and he was stellar.
Luther was one of the top cats too ever do it anyone who has had the privilege too listen too his music and follows blues knows how good he truly is. a master for sure one of my all time favourites! His vibrato and timing is unbelievable

It's right that we all know who he is. He was a rare unique talent. Was that SRV there??

Luther is one of my top six Blues guys, along wi th BB, Buddy, Freddie, Albert, and SRV. Not that Bonamassa is not on the list.
Who are the 4 that didn't like this vid
At least it's only 4
Luther Allison, Jimmy Dawkins.
Anyone know what guitar luther's sideman james solberg is playing here?
